Should You Pull?

Definitely if you’re a Flan Fan, otherwise she may be worth considering (or waiting until 2024 to decide). We had our Pseudo Shikigami roughly a month ago, and now it’s time for the Pseudo Servants to make a move! With the Prayer named Destructive Drama Ultra Festival, we now have Lr Flandre Scarlet (Pseudo Servant: Nishita) entering the stage! Nishita is one of two ancestral gods who has decided to become one with this vampire, who now seems to be wearing Satono’s outfit? Anyways, as usual, this Ultra Festival Prayer comes with an already existing 5★ Story Card and a new 4★ Story Card, and it comes with 2x Fortune Dust and a God Crystal Step-UP (300 on Step 1, 600 on Steps 2-5, all increasing Rate Up from 120% to 200%). Can the sixth variant of Flandre Scarlet perform as well as the others, or is the show over before it began?

Well if the Pseudo Shikigami were anything to go off of, Lr Flandre Scarlet isn’t too different in terms of how viable she can be. This Speed-Class Friend has a bunch of appealing qualities like her Skills all having a 3 Turn Cooldown, all having something of value from Yin ATK, to CRIT ATK, to Agility, to Accuracy, to Spirit Power, to Blind anomalies and Yin DEF debuffing! Some of these are even shared with the team like Agility, Accuracy and Yin ATK, and these effects are generally enough to keep her afloat with buffs and with a little extra support, she can max them out should she be in need of it, but even without that, she can manage rather fine all things considered. Lr Flandre will also happily prove that she is no slouch when it comes to damage as there are multiple factors like strong Slice Scaling up to 175 on her Last Word, and a 25% boost in effective elemental bullets’ power.

Lr Flandre’s prowess of Blind inflicting/breaking is definitely not to be overlooked. Whether it’s as her additional source of Spirit Power, or a Flash Bang Wallop on enemies, there will be great mileage from it. On top of the Spirit Power effects Lr Flandre already has, any Blind/Freeze layer will give 0.20 at a time, demonstrated with Blind inflictions on herself via Skill 2 and some bullet lines on her Shots and Spell Card 1. As for enemies being subjected to it, it is possible for each enemy to get 5 layers of Blind, only for them to be instantly broken with her Spell Card 1 and Skill 2, all in 1 turn! However, some allies may get caught with some Blind-inflicting anomalies, so if they suffer a loss in Accuracy as a result of this, definitely keep that in mind. Otherwise, it can be a plus.

As a little extra when it comes to the breaking aspect, Lr Flandre’s elements have a decent mix of Metal, Star and Fire which for 3 elements, is manageable but in some cases, they can clash when it comes to enemies with just 1 weakness. That said, the glaring downside to Lr Flandre here is her selection of Killers. Her selection of them, being Human, Parallel Presence, Older Sister, Doll, Shrine Maiden and Magician may not be the worst, but are also not the best compared to others out there. Of course, it’s important to make sure you know what tags your enemies have and if any of the six above land because of them, you know this dancing devil will have a blast performing a powerful attack!

And here we are with the Story Cards in the Spotlight again! First up is the classic 5★ Card called Bonds of Blood. Over 2 years later and it’s still a massive Yin ATK stat boost while also still having a helpful 50% Fire boost that Lr Flandre could maybe put to good effect in her Spell Card 2. Accompanying that though is the new 4★ Story Card called Magical Vampire Girl, which debuffs a target’s CRIT DEF by 2 stages (3T) and takes 30% less damage from Younger Sister enemies by 30% (2T).

So as we begin to end Lr Flandre’s performance here, it goes without saying that Flandre fans will not be disappointed with how she is, and even outside of that, she is still able to make a fairly strong case all things considered…despite there still being a miraculous Relic Prayer available until the end of the year while this one will last until January 7th 2024. However, as you may guess from the start of this article, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to wait and see what new Friend(s) may appear when the New Year is officially here, then make up your mind if your Seal Crystals are a potential worry and/or you feel like you are able to manage fine without Lr Flandre. Another factor could also be your Divine Paper Doll count too, since some people might like having 4 of them ready to go, and will more often than not be going for 5 copies. That aside, the ideal option for the average player would be to wait for the New Year’s Prayers. If Lr Flandre still looks the most appealing, go for her, and it’s a similar story with L80 Sanae, but with the duration lasting until the end of 2023 if you are still considering her.

For now though, Lr Flandre Scarlet is without a doubt going to be picked up by the Flandre supporters out there, and then some. Remember that there will be a Live With Phantasma Livestage on Discord on December 28th, so with all these options available, it’s up to you to vote with your Seal Crystals and Coins. Will Lr Flandre’s performance win you over? Do you have faith in L80 Sanae Kochiya yet? Or is patience the way for you?

If you are won over by the Pseudo Servant’s performing prowess however, best of luck to everyone who wishes to win themselves a one of a kind backup dancer!

Quick Overview

Lr Flandre Scarlet is a Speed-Class Friend who dances her way in with strong Skills with 3 turns of cooldown duration, self-sufficiency, her usage of Blind anomalies to her advantage, and destructive damage potential.

Destructive Dancing Devil’s Damage

Lr Flandre definitely has what it takes to deal great damage when the cards fall into place for her, and a few factors that can help make this possible is her usage of both Slice and Hard Scaling (a lot more of the former), higher damage if her Metal/Fire/Star elemental bullets are effective, and if her Killers land, can destroy her enemies. It may take some external help to reach max stats, but even then, Lr Flandre can hold her own rather well.

Self-Sufficient Soloist

This one of a kind backup dancer has all the important offensive buffs needed to get her going, some of those being on her Skills which all have a 3 Turn Cooldown, being rather convenient for relatively quick usage and having the buffs to stay afloat. These effects include for herself: CRIT ATK and Spirit Power. As for the team, we have: Yin ATK, Agility and Accuracy with more Agility for them when Boosting and some CRIT Accuracy when Grazing, as well as more Spirit Power for the team not just via Spell Card 1 Pre-ATK but also for herself via her Ability to turn any Blind and Freeze anomalies into Spirit Power, demonstrated by Skill 2. We also have some additional debuffing potential on enemies like with Yin DEF and the potential to inflict Blind anomalies, but more on that below…

Backed up by Blinds and Breaks

Inflicting 3 layers of Blind on all enemies, another 2 on Spell Card 1’s Pre-ATK and 3 more on her Last Word Pre-ATK, with the same Spell Card 1 and Last Word also being the ticket to Blind Breaking, Lr Flandre does definitely have what it takes to destroy the Barriers of her enemies, whether it’s through her Blind anomalies or her fair mix of Metal, Star and Fire elements

Three Elements of Surprise?

While it’s actually preferred for a Friend to have just 2 different elements with them appearing very frequently, the Metal, Star and Fire elements appearing in Lr Flandre’s kit are decently spread out all things considered, with some attacks favoring one element over others, such as her Last Word being primarily Metal, Fire taking up most of Spell Card 2, and Star being one of two elements getting 3 bullet lines in the rest. In some cases, it might be possible to work with all three effectively, but against enemies with just 1 weakness, plus her Ability to increase effective elemental damage by 25%, it might not be something to dance for 100% of the time.

Playing a Blinder

Of course, some of Lr Flandre’s self-anomaly infliction has spilled over to her allies. Especially with those who are reliant on Accuracy, it’s important to take caution when inflicting them with this anomaly that may damage their Accuracy. Otherwise, there may also be allies there who would love to get Blindsided in this scenario, such as S5 Rin, S5 Utsuho and of course, L1 Flandre too!

Killer Range is Somewhat Taboo

Unfortunately, the main thing holding back Lr Flandre in terms of performance is her Killer range. While ones like mainly Human and Parallel Presence are decent compared to others, it might be hard at times to get the sweet Critical Hits when you need it, especially against enemies that don’t have the tags needed for Lr Flandre to get those CRITs.
