Dazzling Diamond Dust

Letty Whiterock is a youkai with the ability to manipulate chill. Recently, she's been seen out and about a lot in Gensokyo, but she can't wait for winter to come.

"Here she comes," Letty thought to herself as she let out a heavy sigh.

Cirno is a childish fairy who loves to play pranks. She has the ability to manipulate cold.
Sensing winter was near, she marched out into the fading autumnal heat with a cry of, "This is the year!"

Diamond dust is the name for particles of ice that form in freezing temperatures when water vapor desublimates (changes directly from a gas to a solid without entering the liquid state). When these fine particles of ice fall from the sky and catch the light, they twinkle and shine like diamonds. Due to its dazzling beauty, diamond dust has also been referred to as the whispers of angels.

All Letty wanted to do was enjoy winter in whatever way she pleased. But Cirno stood in her way and declared, "This winter, I'm gonna be the STRONGEST!" "Not again," thought Letty with a shrug of her shoulders. However, she could tell that even if she filled the air with fog and made her escape, Cirno would simply follow her. And so, Letty decided to indulge Cirno and kick winter off with a battle.

It was a battle between the cold and chill as the pair's abilities fought for dominance. The air splintered with a biting frost, and just as the battle was about to reach its dramatic conclusion, diamond dust began to form, and the world around Letty and Cirno transformed into a sparkling wonderland. In an instant, they found themselves captivated by its dazzling beauty. Before long, Cirno was frolicking around with an endearing innocence as Letty watched on with a smile.
