Junko is a sagacious spirit who was so filled with hate for the Lunarians that she tried to invade the Lunar Capital. Today, she's visiting Gensokyo in secret, and enjoying the peace and quiet.

Hecatia Lapislazuli is a mysterious god who rules over the Hell of the Moon, the Earth, and the Otherworlds. She sympathizes with Junko and assisted her attempted invasion of the Lunar Capital. Today, the two of them are friends and enjoy spending time together.

Hecatia brought her subordinate Clownpiece to a sweet shop that's been gaining popularity recently in the Human Village. Upon taking a bite of the shop's best-selling sweet, she immediately fell in love. Wanting nothing more than for Junko to try this delicacy, she rushed off to Senkai to find her. After she'd found her, Hecatia took her friend by the hand, and the two of them headed for Gensokyo.

Junko was taken aback by the sweet that Hecatia recommended. Still happily munching away, the pair of them decided to take a stroll around Gensokyo in search of more delectable treats. Hecatia had been worried Junko might be suffering from boredom, having promised not to attack the Lunar Capital for the time being. But seeing the smile on her friend's face, she sighed a breath of relief knowing she'd been worried for nothing.

Junko swore revenge against Chang'e, the former Lunar goddess, after her beloved son was murdered at the hands of Chang'e's husband. As the years passed, her hatred grew ever purer until eventually, she launched an assault on the Lunar Capital with Hecatia. The pair attacked but were left frustrated as the Lunarians opted to flee rather than defend themselves. It was then that Reimu and the others appeared on the Moon and defeated Junko. After that, everything began to change. Junko was once consumed by a desire for vengeance, but that's ancient history now...
