Remilia Scarlet is a vampire who has lived for over 500 years. She moved the Scarlet Devil Mansion to Gensokyo, where she resides with her little sister, friend, and servants.

A vampire is a devil that consumes the blood of living humans and has appeared in many literary works. Their traits differ between sources, but most works depict them as having a weakness to sunlight and silver. Remilia has a lot in common with these depictions of vampires, or perhaps it's the opposite. Maybe those that laid eyes on Remilia were so scared that they created these stories to convey their fear.

Remilia looks like a cute young girl with a noble upbringing who overflows with elegance. If you ever see her for yourself, you would think that there is more to her than you can put into words. It sits deep within her, a presence that you can't quite put your finger on. Despite her attempts to hide it, she can't hope to do so. You could call it a kind of charisma.

Even if there are no similarities in the backgrounds, species, or beliefs of the girls who reside in the mansion, they brandish their swords for a singular purpose. Her form, her heart, and her power are what make Remilia who she is. And they are what attract so many to her side.

It is a sight that can be seen every day—no, multiple times a day. Her firm footfalls on each individual step. That's it. The head maid bows her head after a brief look. No words need to be exchanged. The head maid's eyes seem to say that the form of the girl before her conveys plenty.
