Magical Vampire Girl

Many in Gensokyo are capable of using magic. There are witches, magicians, and more, but perhaps that's not all. There's a rumor that Flandre Scarlet was once known as a magical girl―a young girl with the power to wield magic.

The term "magician" has a rather broad definition in Gensokyo. However, we could split people referred to as magicians into two categories: those who belong to the magician species and those who simply use magic. While members of both categories have things in common, the differences between them are vast. However, with such a great diversity of species already existing in Gensokyo, finding a way to easily differentiate the two types of magician would have been a real challenge. Perhaps referring to them all as magicians was the simplest option.

Now, it's time to discuss magical girls. Magical girls are often featured in outside world stories, particularly in those aimed at children, so it seems possible a reasonable definition exists for what "magical girl" means in Gensokyo. Are they part of the "magical girl" species, or are they simply young female magicians? Next time you're around someone knowledgeable about this type of thing, be sure to ask them.

So what does the future hold for Flandre the Magical Vampire Girl? It's impossible to say. Besides, this is Gensokyo, where the absurd and the unlikely occur on a daily basis. No one can deny that a magical vampire girl could appear and fight valiantly through the long nights. Then again, it's equally likely she would grow weary of fighting, fall into darkness, and become a domineering queen of evil. One can only hope it doesn't come to that...
