Overview

Articuno returns for a week on September 13th, and it offers the opportunity for an easy and fun small group raid. 2 ambitious trainers blessed with partly cloudy weather can [smack] down this frozen bird, but a group of 3 can beat it in any other circumstance. Prepare your battle parties ahead of time so that your group can go from raid to raid to hunt down a shiny Articuno without letting other people hold you up.

Approach

Team composition

  • Smack Down Tyranitar is supreme; ideal at level 30, even with bad IVs

  • Golem is the best counter that's not event limited, legacy, or legendary

Battling strategy

  • In the 180 s raid timer scenario, optimal lineups don’t have to re-enter

  • Dodging is unnecessary, but it may benefit teams using a lot of Golem

Note: "Good" movesets are not necessarily viable at the level indicated.
