Trait: Can block 3 enemies. Can perform ranged attacks
Talent 1: Can use a mobile shield that lasts for several seconds. The mobile shield can only be placed in the 4 tiles adjacent to Jessica. After shield deployment, Jessica immediately shifts to face the shield and units behind her gain increased DEF.
Skill 1: When skill is activated, increase ATK. Increase self and shield's DEF and the duration of the mobile shield. Infinite duration.
Skill 2: When skill is activated, expand Attack Range, increase ATK and reduce Attack Interval. Gain a certain percentage of Physical and Arts Evasion.
Skill 3: When skill is activated, extend Attack Range, increase Attack Interval, increase ATK and DEF, increase shield's DEF. 后来,得知杰西卡曾因反抗上级而遭到黑钢处分,我们才明白她与黑钢的分歧早就难以调和,那次在哥伦比亚东部林带的任务,更是让双方的矛盾激化,导致杰西卡最终放弃自己在黑钢的事业与前途,远离巴伦基地和布林雷家族,赴往拓荒地重新开始自己的生活。
幸好,我们与杰西卡的联系并不会随着她与黑钢关系的终结而断绝。她在拓荒地成立的驮兽队经常会与当地办事处合作,将药物送往载具无法抵达的偏远地区,确保患病的拓荒者及时获得治疗,而杰西卡也需要资金来建设在拓荒地的营地。
能与杰西卡重新达成合作,我们十分欣喜。她表面看起来羞怯软弱,但其实内心执着又坚韧,还具有高度的同理心,可以敏锐地觉察他人的情绪,这种不可多得的品质,使杰西卡能够安抚那些因事故经受创伤的人,却也令她更易受他人情绪影响,很久才能从痛苦与悲伤中抽离。更令人难过的是,她会固执地选择独自面对一切。而那些在作为佣兵时目睹的景象与经受的挣扎,杰西卡始终不愿告知,我们也不便追问,但通过关注她现在的行为表现,我们认为她的状态已经改善了许多。
至少现在,从拓荒地回到舰上的杰西卡很少会独自一人待在靶场了。

骑在驮兽上,我们逆着河流向上进入一片林地。在那里我们认识到离开黑钢后的杰西卡如今过着怎样的生活:半夜时分,几只飞虫从破损的帐篷布里进入,不论是吵闹的拍翅声,还是被它们叮咬后身上长出的肿包,都让大家烦恼不已,不得不起身将其一只只拍死。但杰西卡却浑然不在意,蜷在两张椅子拼成的简易小床上睡得正熟,有只飞虫落在她的眼皮上,留下一个巨大的肿包,但她只是无意识地蹭了几下,便继续酣睡。
这一晚不过是杰西卡辛劳生活的一个小小切面,不仅营地内每天有繁杂的事务等待她处理,时不时还会有前来骚扰的野兽与匪帮。所幸她无需独自面对,有许多人支持她的工作:营地内负责伙食的埃拉菲亚厨师厨艺非凡,再不适口的食材经她手后也能变得美味;而那位一直照顾篝火的老人,他有双灵巧的手,为我们修好了载具;还有个女孩,对数字敏感异常,掌管着营地中的一切开销;除此外还有位萨科塔猎人,脾气暴躁,但却是个放牧牲畜的好手,与杰西卡一起轮流负责营地治安。在他们的共同协作下,新建设的营地很快步入正轨,吸引着新的拓荒者加入。
在我们离开前,杰西卡指着远处的一片森林说。
“我们打算买入一片上好的松林。在拓荒地上,伐木是相对安全的产业,而且在移动城市内,上好的白松能卖到一立方两百金券,如果明年后年能够持续盈利的话,我们就有足够的资金建设一个小型的伐木平台,在移动平台上,大家的生活都会好一点。”
说话时,她的眼睛先是闪着柔和的亮光,然后渐渐恢复平静,期间一直盯着那片森林,一刻也没有移开。
