Botzu's Quick Evaluation

+ Trait: Heals allies with her Skills
+ E2 Talent: Grants +1 SP to Operators she heals (HP must be restored)
+ Great stats all around that, with her Talent, further increase as she is on the field
+ S1: Great single target healing skill that doesn't get wasted because of the HP threshold requirement.
+ S2: Large coverage area, and good for "poison mist" stages or other light damage/non burst healing situations
+ S3 provides good stackable slow and an extremely strong Arts damage boost along with the healing
- No DEF boosting Skills means she has a hard time surviving the strongest Physical Damage enemies
- Does not restore SP if she heals an ally already at full health
- S2: the nature of the healing of this skill and the lack of utility make it a less desired choice in challenging content than the other 2

Operator Overview

“All things are bound to evolution by the laws of nature. Yet Rhine Lab attempted to change it; take control of it, even. What a foolish plan....”

Saria used to be the head of security at Rhine Lab. She may be hard to get along with, but Operators fielded alongside her know that she will protect them with her life—as well as with her calcium-manipulating Originium Arts. Saria holds the record for fewest casualties on her watch, and any Doctor who’s seen her in action should be able to understand why. This fiercely protective Vouivre is a stalwart 6* Healing Defender who heals as much as a Medic, destroys enemies with her powerful debuffs, and even generates SP for her allies.

The amount of healing Saria can output with her Skills is incredibly impressive for a non-Medic Operator. Her S1, First Aid, automatically heals a nearby ally when they fall below half HP, and it stores multiple charges. Because of the HP threshold, Saria will save this Skill for when somebody really needs it, and she can blow through multiple charges in a row to rescue her ally if necessary. On the other extreme is her Medicine Dispensing S2, which is an automatic AoE healing Skill. Medicine Dispensing does not have an HP threshold nor charges, but it heals a sizable amount of HP over a wide range on a short cooldown, making it very useful on maps with poison mist.

Finally there’s Calcification, an S3 of terrifying power. Calcification is a manually-activated Skill that debilitates all enemies across a huge area down to their very bones, reducing their movement speed and increasing the amount of Arts damage they take. (These are both unique debuffs, so they stack with other Slows and RES debuffs!) And that’s not all: any allies in Calcification’s range are constantly healed for the duration. As if the Skill wasn’t good enough already. Making Saria’s healing even more appealing is her E2 Talent, Refreshment, which restores 1 SP to any ally that recovers HP from one of Saria’s Skills.

As an infinite fountain of HP and SP for her allies, Saria is one of the most ubiquitous Operators in Arknights, able to pull her weight on almost any map and in almost any situation. She’s a shining star for Challenge maps and Contingency Contract events, especially when Medics are banned, and her solid durability combined with Block-3 means she is perfectly able to soak hits from enemies while she keeps her allies healthy. Her S2 does lose its luster in harder content, but with S1 and S3 to fall back on, Saria always has something useful to do. Between her healing, her survivability, and her debuffs, there’s no question that Saria is the keystone for any formation she is a part of.

Newbie Tier List Explanation

Clearly best in class. S1 has powerful healing, S2 has wide reach and is great on poison haze type maps, and S3 has an insane arts debuff alongside a powerful heal and movespeed-based slow. Did I mention that she restores SP yet?

Elite Promotion Discussion

  • 3rd Skill - Calcification - This is a Skill that does a LOT of good things very well.  So many things, in fact, that we need to use more bullets to address them all:

    • It has a huge range. 

    • It does a lot of healing, up to 35% of Saria’s ATK per second.  This is not mentioned in the in-game description, which is a crime against Saria, decency, and all things cute, since many players think the amount of healing listed is what is done over the entire duration.  Medics typically have an attack Interval around 3 seconds. This means Saria can heal almost 3 times for every 1 heal by a typical Medic.

    • Along with her Talent 2 (mentioned below), it can potentially generate a considerable amount of SP charge for your Operators(See Talent 2 discussion below for the “however”).

    • It increases Arts Damage Taken, one of the few sources in the game, which is a multiplicative damage increase.

    • It reduces enemy movement speed significantly.

    • It has a decent duration.

    • It does your laundry and makes you a sandwich.

  • Talent 2 - Refreshment - As mentioned above, it gives an extra Skill Point to any ally she heals.  Paired up with her Skill 2 and 3 healing effects, this can make a huge difference and should not be underestimated.  However, what that tricky Saria fails to tell you in the in-game description is that Operators only gain SP if HP is actually restored (healing an ally at full health gives them nothing).  Thus, this Talent is not quite able to reach the potential that it seems to have at first glance.

  • Talent 1 upgrade - Rhine Charged Suit - A boost to a decent self buff.

Saria is one of the strongest units in the game with a wide variety of applications across all of her skills. She is the best M9 candidate in the game, even after three full years! However at the same time, some restraint is warranted, especially for newer Story centric players. Although she is strong, she is still a support unit with expensive 6★ upgrades. DPS should still be prioritized higher which is why her grades are somewhat low despite her meta value.

The standard suggestion with Saria has been her S1M1 breakpoint, followed by focusing on her S3M3 which is her end-game skill. However the arrival of the second iteration of the Roguelike mode has given new life to her S2M3 which muddies the waters. S2M3 tends to be overkill in a lot of situations which is why it fell from favor, though it is now also her most used skill in the new mode!

I would suggest you still do S1M1 first, followed by S3M3, then S2M3. However if the Roguelike is your overriding goal, there is nothing wrong with bumping S2M3 up first. Just remember to exercise some restraint with Saria's Masteries until your key DPS roles are firmly established.

[Originium Arts Assessment]
Lady Saria has explained in detail the theory behind her Originium Arts to Caster and Medic Operators. The specifics of the theory are cryptic and complicated, but in a nutshell, aside from normal Originium Arts, Lady Saria is also capable of freely manipulating the calcium and chemical compounds in a circular area around her. Combining her erudite medical knowledge and capabilities, she is quite able to meet what's required of her, whether it's using her Originium Arts to block and weaken the enemy, or using her weapon to protect her teammates.
As Lady Saria herself says, the strength of Originium Arts lies not in how you use them, but the purpose you use them for.

Lady Saria was once the leader of Rhine Lab's Defense Division.
Lady Saria's shield also functions as her staff. In most cases, she finds enemies not worth using Originium Arts on.
As a few Rhodes Island Operators have said, Lady Saria is one of our few strategic Operators.
On the one hand, she uses her medical knowledge and equipment to heal her teammates on the battlefield.
On the other hand, with her extraordinary fighting skills, Lady Saria can easily use her shield to break apart her enemies, causing them to lose their will to fight and even destroying their equipment.
More importantly, Lady Saria is equally accomplished when it comes to commanding the battlefield. Although the plans her team implements are heavily biased towards defense, one can be sure that when Lady Saria is involved, the team will suffer very few casualties.
'When Lady Saria raises her shield, she is not only protecting the Operators standing behind her, she is protecting the whole team.'
Of course, many Operators feel that if Lady Saria abandoned her shield and syringe and used both her fists to fight, she would be stronger than she is now, or at the very least more destructive.
You don't want to know what kinds of demonstrations she used to train the team.

The relationship between Lady Saria and Rhine Lab is very complicated.
Though all Rhine Lab Operators who work with Rhodes Island show some amount of respect for Lady Saria, Rhine Lab's Medic Operator, Silence, shows nothing but hatred for her.
At the same time, Lady Saria appears unsurprised by Silence's feelings toward her.
Whenever Lady Saria attempts to talk with Caster Operator Ifrit, Silence gets in the way.
According to available information, the animosity between Saria and Silence stems from an experiment at Rhine Lab led by Silence.
The experiment was an unfortunate failure. Lady Saria acted alone in suppressing the experimental materials that had gone out of control. Similarly, because of this experiment's mishaps, Lady Saria left Rhine Lab.
It is not known why she chose to cooperate with Rhodes Island after leaving Rhine Lab.

I have already spoken with her about her reasons for working with Rhodes Island. She had no reservations about speaking bluntly, as if on the offensive.
Saria is worried about Ifrit's continued growth and development. She candidly said that if the situation is not properly controlled, the results will not only destroy Rhodes Island, but will also set off other catastrophes. She said that the upper echelon of Rhine Lab is covering up the truth and that Silence is completely in the dark about all this.
I expressed to her that we will continue monitoring Ifrit's infection and that we invite Saria to strengthen her cooperation with Rhodes Island on the condition that she sever all her political relationships.
Rhodes Island still needs to draw upon Saria's power to solve some problems, namely problems with some other Rhine Lab Operators. Also, we need to get ready to confront some Operators behind the scenes. Saria and I both agree on this.
We must be careful when dealing with the Rhine Lab issue. Amiya should be wary of some of the involved players' political inclinations.

Upgrade to Elite LV2.
Rhodes Island admits that Lady Saria is personally quite strong. However, she has not let this strength get the better of her. She is doing her duty and stalwartly defending her teammates with her shield and her Originium Arts.
However, many Operators have raised a question: if Lady Saria is so powerful, why does she insist on using her shield and auxiliary Originium Arts to assist the team rather than releasing her own power and launching devastating attacks on the enemy directly?
Lady Saria has not yet answered this question. On the contrary, she will chide and discipline other Operators. Strength is not the essence of combat. Strength should not be used hastily.
In the midst of the tempest, only those on guard stay standing.
