Operator Overview

Code name: Tomimi

Race: Archosauria

Place of birth: Sargon

Specialty: Barbeque, digging, management

-------------

"Hello, Doctor. Uh I'm not here to cause trouble, I'm, mm, learning, right, I'm here to learn. Gavial is already here, I can't just stay home alone, right."

-------------

Tomimi, an Archosauria from the Acajutla area, Gavial's childhood friend, and also the "Gavial's Will" tribe's current chief. She's good tempered, understanding of others, and doesn't at all have the air of a chief, but no one in the tribe will challenge her authority. She has been receiving information outside of the Acajutla area via messenger services, and can communicate with people outside the area without problems.

Because she didn't want to separate with Gavial, so when Gavial returned to Rhodes Island, Tomimi became an operator right after.

TL Notes: location name translated phonetically

-------------

Tomimi is a 5★ ST Caster whose damage type changes to Physical with a shorter attack range when her Skills are active.  Her Skills offer DPS or intermittent crowd control options. She will be the welfare event Operator in the upcoming Summer Event.

Talent and Skills

Archetype: ST Caster

Trait: Deals Arts Damage

Talent: When skill is active, reduce attack range, damage type changes to Physical (only attacks enemies on the ground) and Tomimi's ATK increases

Skill 1: During skill activation, increase ASPD

Skill 2: During skill activation, every attack has a chance to carry one of the following effects:

  • Target is stunned for a short duration
  • ATK increased
  • Deal AoE damage

First Impressions

Note: These are first impressions and based on conjecture since we don’t know the exact details.

Tomimi's niche appears to be that of a Ranged Physical/Arts damage hybrid.  She will not be the first Caster to offer a Physical damage option, as Ceobe S3 does the same without the Range penalty, though as a welfare Event Operator Tomimi will certainly be more accessible.  Also, there is no shortage of Physical damage Operators that have Arts damage abilities.  The question for Tomimi will be what her Skill-active attack range ends up being, and, of course, her various modifiers.

Also, the RNG of S2 seems like it could be more of a drawback than a benefit.  When a doctor needs AoE, Stun, or single-target DPS, they will probably be more inclined to choose an Operator with Skills that supply the specific utility, rather than hope for good RNG.  Though Skills like this can be fun in some situations, they can be frustrating and unreliable as well.

Profile

Tomimi, an Archosaurian from the Acatjula region of Sargon, is Gavial’s companion and supporter. She tried to use radical means to prevent Gavial from returning to Rhodes Island, but in the end, she came back together with Gavial to Rhodes.

She currently carries the duties of a Caster Operator, but often forgets this. However, considering her excellent performance on the battlefield, we’re not considering changing her operator class yet.

Clinical Analysis

Increase Trust to 25.

Imaging tests reveal clear, normal outlines of internal organs, and no abnormal shadows have been detected. Originium granules have not been detected in the circulatory system and there is no sign of infection. At this time, this Operator is believed to be non-infected.

[Cell-Originium Assimilation] 0%

“This one hasn’t changed since then, still as fair and delicate as ever.”

[Blood Originium-Crystal Density] 0.14u/L

“You actually listened to my advice to train your body? Not bad.”

“I’m very familiar with Tomimi, but this is the first time I’ve given her a physical examination.” -Gavial

“The checkup went smoothly, although her heartbeat was a little too fast, so I couldn’t accurately read her heart rate.” -Gavial

After her “ruse” was discovered, and she was “punished” by Gavial, the quick witted Tomimi decided to follow Gavial back to Rhodes Island to become an operator. Tomimi isn’t very clear about what the world is like outside the tribe, especially since her impression of the outside world is completely constructed from her conversations with Inam and the books she commissioned to buy. Like the other two new operators that arrived with her, she made some common sense errors during her tests and trainings, but she was able to adapt quickly, transforming from a small tribal chief on the Sargon border into a Caster with her own unique qualities.

While going through the application to become an Operator, some of the officers in charge of the tests disagreed with Tomimi applying to be a Caster operator. From the perspective of Casters who had been educated in modern Originium Arts, Tomimi’s use of Arts was haphazard and crude, and her desire for physical combat was completely contrary to what a Caster operator should be, which resulted in the following conversation when the testers compiled their results:

“What’s the difference between Tomimi and Gavial?”

“Gavial doesn’t actually whack people.”

“I think that’s because she’s too busy.”

In the end, however, they decided to allow Tomimi to become a Caster operator, and instead of asking Tomimi to act more like a modern Caster in her training guidelines, they decided to let her implement her own unique fighting style. This decision was made because from what they had seen, they thought that her fighting style was not without merit, and that the idea of "infusing" her spells into her staff to make it deadly was a brilliant idea if you looked at it from another angle. Caster operators have always been full of exploratory spirit, and after they acknowledged Tomimi’s fighting style, some of them started a fitness trend of “Casters should be strong too”, and they began to hope that through Tomimi’s growth, a new branch of Originium Arts techniques would be created---- Of course, even if that does happen, it will take some time before that idea comes to fruition.

When talking to Tomimi, there was always one topic that couldn't be avoided: Gavial. At the slightest mention of Gavial’s name, Tomimi, who didn’t talk much, would instantly open up and launch into a monologue about how good Gavial was. Her fanaticism is probably on par with the fans blocking the entrance to Siren Monster Record's headquarters just to meet their idols. Although, if you were to put yourself in Tomimi’s shoes, perhaps it was inevitable that she would turn out this way. Let’s say there’s a beautiful young girl who even the adults are unable to handle and is essentially the leader of the kids. Countless other kids want to be friends with her; but instead she comes over to your house every day to eat and play with you, showing off how kind and dashing she is---- who wouldn’t be moved by that? What’s more, this is the same beautiful girl who, in order to protect Tomimi, was stabbed by an Originium crystal in the mine, and contracted Oripathy. Not even a Columbian bestselling author would dare to write a story like this, but it doesn’t change the fact that it really happened, and from that day on Tomimi’s heart now belonged to Gavial’s tail. After that, Tomimi put in all her heart and effort to take care of Gavial, but Gavial mistakenly assumed that Tomimi was “ostracising” her. After beating up all the other challengers in the chief selection ritual, Gavial left the village, and as for what happened afterwards, please refer to the reports from the various involved personnel from when Gavial returned to her home in Sargon. According to the report summary, Tomimi’s reason for using a rocket launcher to bring down the Doctor’s aircraft was because she had missed Gavial for so long, nothing more. After arriving in Rhodes Island with Gavial, Tomimi has not done anything out of the ordinary.

“I mean, why not turn Tomimi’s exploits into a book? Or even make a movie out of it instead? It’ll definitely sell well.”

“If you want to be hammered to death by Gavial, just say so.”

“It’ll be fine, the people involved are idiots anyways.”

“......”

“Well then, I’ll leave the annual performance’s script to you.”

“Change it a bit more, if they recognise it we’re dead meat!”

“Fine, I’ll take care of it.”

Upon returning to Rhodes Island, the Doctor had questioned how exactly Tomimi had come up with that whole bunch of bad ideas, and after stalling after half a day, Tomimi brought out some books, the ones on the top of pile were titled as such:

, , and that book, <100 Days to Business Management>....

She then took out a booklist, filled with the names of books that often appeared on the bestseller lists in bookstores, mostly dealing with fashion, success, and management, some of which covered topics that had undoubtedly led Tomimi astray in her understanding of the outside world. She had actually previously applied her corporate management skills to the members of the clan of Gavial’s Will, requiring them to dress in uniform, chant slogans, and fight like a Lupo (she didn’t know what a Lupo was before joining Rhodes Island). While the clan members had no complaints in the face of Tomimi's strength, we were told that after Tomimi left, everyone reverted to their old relaxed clan life. If we think about it, the rocket launcher that Tomimi used to shoot down the Doctor’s aircraft was probably influenced by a story from one of the books.

Fortunately, Tomimi had still learned some practical life skills from it. She had become so familiar with the ability to store items in a confined space that even the operator in charge of the dormitory spoke highly of her. In addition, she’s adept at using expedition tools to explore the wilderness alone, never again making the mistake of wandering into a mine and getting killed. However, unlike her old home in Acatjula, the Rhodes Island dormitory did not have nearly the same infinite space for Tomimi’s collection, and at Gavial’s urging, she began sifting through her treasures and carries the most precious of them in a backpack that she brings around with her. Look at it this way, it's not so much that Tomimi isn't smart enough, but that she's just putting effort into the wrong places.

Tomimi’s tail grew bigger again.

That in itself wasn’t a bad thing, most Archosaurians were proud to have large tails.

But Tomimi’s tail was not only extending horizontally, it was extending vertically as well.

The Archosaurians themselves are still undecided as to what a tail should look like, and the dispute between the "thick-tailed" and "thin-tailed" factions remains inconclusive to this day.

Tomimi herself doesn’t belong to either faction, and is fine with however her tail chooses to grow, and Gavial doesn’t care either.

But her tail is still quite heavy, and it seems to be inconvenient in her daily life, so a doctor suggested she should use a specialised Archosaurian tail brace.

Everyone often hears Tomimi grumbling about this: “When we were younger my tail was the same size as Gavial’s, how did mine become so different from hers when we grew up?”

Whether to keep her tail as is, or clench her teeth and choose to slim it down, Tomimi can’t decide at all.

On one hand, thick tails are quite popular, and it could have some unexpected uses on the battlefield, and Gavial likes to tease it.

On the other hand, thick tails could sometimes be a problem for others, and due to the tail size, it may be impossible to purchase some good looking clothes in the right size.

Thus, Tomimi has been troubled by her tail for a long time.

She needs someone to help her make a decision and help implement that decision.

But who would that person be?

Voice Lines

Appointed as Assistant Gavial won’t do this type of job, and no one in the tribe has thought about doing it before, so I’ll help out when I’m free.
Talk 1 If there’s not enough field medics, I can help out, I know some basic medical knowledge.
Talk 2 Doctor, I think the marker's out of ink. Ah, wait, please don't throw it! That one, if you don't mind, can I have that?
Talk 3 Can't Rhodes Island dig down? There's no treasure underground? All precious things are locked in their rooms? What a shame....
Talk after Promotion 1 My tail, it's growing again, if it keeps growing like this, everyone is really going to hate me, wuu.... It’s so frustrating.
Talk after Promotion 2 Having a big tail is natural, being strong and cool is natural, and being smart is natural. Since it’s impossible to choose what you get, you should choose how to live your own life. Of course, if you could come help me from time to time, Doctor… that would be nice.
Talk after Trust Increase 1 I can understand that Gavial could miss work, but how could she miss meals? Was there something that scared her and caused her to hide? No one else seems to have noticed. I'm the only one who can save her! Oh, there you are, Doctor. Can you do me a favor?
Talk after Trust Increase 2 My backpack may have too many things, are you sure you want to see? Ok then, it’s been a long time since I last checked it anyways. Ah, let’s see: Amber wrapped in leaves, a tooth? A bloodstained black crystal… a bunch of signatures?! Doctor please don’t look anymore, it’s over!
Talk after Trust Increase 3 She could draw people to look directly into her eyes and wouldn't close her eyelids until the blazing flames dried them. That’s probably the type of shining person Gavial is. Oh yeah, I read that description earlier from a book, I thought it was good so I memorized it to use it myself later. It’s still appropriate in this situation right?
Idle Let’s put this dreamcatcher here, I hope you have a clean and comfortable dream.
Onboard Hello, Doctor. Uh, I'm not here to disturb you. I'm, uh, here to study, yes, to study here. I can't be alone in my hometown while Gavial's here, can I?
