Overview
Eugene is a support-oriented Water Sword user, sharing his role with the Elisannes. Similar to Halloween Odetta, Eugene is a support adventurer first, with occasional damage bursts on the side. Checkmate’s unique charging system allows Eugene to focus on what he does best without worrying about wasted S2 SP. Crucially, S1’s Phase 3 offers increased Crit Damage for the entire team, synergizing well with the cooking duo’s Inspiration.

High S1 UptimeÂ
Signature Tactics’ low SP cost means that new buff zones often overlap with previous phases. This in turn stacks Check quite quickly for more punishing Checkmates.Â
Naturally TankyÂ
13% DEF is a substantial boost, and although Sword users fight up close and personal, S1’s Flame Res preserves 70% HP relatively easily.
Weaknesses
Slow Inspiration StackingÂ
Assuming constant crits, Eugene will become fully Inspired after 50 seconds, requiring help from the cooking duo to fire off more powerful Checkmates.
