Overview

Summer Norwin is unique in that he presents the player with a playstyle choice from the get-go: consistent DPS & Energy support or high risk & high burst. Since his two skills share the same SP cost and Skill Shift mechanic, players may decide which Phase IV effect they wish to utilize. If opting for Ephemeral Love IV, be sure to account for unavoidable boss damage before casting.

As a side note, Norwin’s Shared Skill fully Energizes the team with no drawbacks which may enable burst options in endgame content down the line.

Strengths

High Burst or Burst Support 

Norwin has two paths: lead with Skill 1 for an explosive Phase IV Skill 2, or lead with Skill 2 to provide Energy support. Note that the former path gets riskier overtime as Doleful Spirit stacks accumulate. 

Self-Healing 

Norwin’s Chain Co-ability synergizes well with Daggers’ rapid attack rate and works to mitigate damage taken from Ephemeral Love IV. 

Weaknesses

Limited Energy Usage

Norwin can’t have his cake and eat it too; he must choose between Energizing his team or unloading a powerful S2 nuke. As such, he cannot self-energize Ephemeral Love IV. 

Energy = Skill Haste is feast or famine, relying on Summer Memories IV to see any effects only to promptly lose all stacks upon casting a skill. This isn’t helped by Doleful Spirit locking Norwin’s Energy level. Furthermore, Energy sources in the Wind roster are few and far between so this ability’s effects aren’t felt much at all.

Dragon Recommendations

Vayu greatly amplifies Ephemeral Love IV’s already strong multipliers. 

Pazuzu meshes well with the Wind roster’s heavy Poison focus. 

Ariel enables even faster Skill Shift cycling without giving up power.

Roc is a serviceable budget STR option.

The more stacks of Doleful Spirit the user has, the more damage they will take. Stacks of Doleful Spirit will not be removed by shapeshifting.
