It also depends if you unbind dragons as well, example like with "some" of the wyrmprints if unbinded at least once or twice there skills upgrade but there is a possibility that it cant be upgraded. Stats though..... they only show strenght and hp that they give to units they are paired with. Also the detail button shows what bonus they give to units as well.
