Clearly, people aren't happy, and not all for the wrong reasons, but similar to the Sofia vs Henry argument, it's not preference as to why someone recommended sofia over henry for raurowl CC, its stats
That being said, I dont agree with all of the tier list, but I do appreciate getting rid of Tier1* and just shifting everything down, because it helps new players who come in from a game like League, or anything else that is tier based build teams without any personal connection to a unit (this game is like 3 on the Google play store for free rpg or whatever category it's in, we get a lot who have never played a FE game before) understand how the competitive aspect is scored
TL;Dr, I like most of it, feel free to rant below, this was more or less mine
Side note... if you wonder why one unit goes above another read the explanation and a lot of it has to do with the viability of teammates, for example infantry mages get placed below horse/flier/armour mages due to doing the same thing, but without emblem buffs, or the current meta around how a unit is built (back to sofia/henry thing that went around when we got our fodder... I mean canas)
I honestly don't really care about the tier list, I just find it funny that people take tier lists seriously. Sure, one can take them seriously because they're 'valid' in their explanations on why one unit is leagues better than another, but eh. Up to each individual on what they wanna do.
While people are up in their tier lists, I'll be sittin' here just playin' the units I like to play, and using them in Arena. :P
I just got on. To me this is a "whatever" type of thing. I decided to go check the list and I don't really get why people are complaining. Maybe it's just because I view it as data to look and think about or prepare to counter some of the higher tier units.
Kinda semirelated but I got a bit of a chuckle due to the timing of this. I just finished my Canas today and was about to go check what people did for him out of curiosity. Added him for those who want to see what I've done.
Don't need to tell me twice. Some of the units I've been waiting for in events or hoping to see in banners have popped up in Tempest Trials. What do I do? I promote them to +1 because I like'em. Though I'd be lying if I said I didn't fodder off Joshua or Marisa due to Close Defense and Infantry Pulse.
So far the ones I've got +1'd are NY!Corrin, Groom Marth, Finn, and, as you saw, Canas.
One day we will get our reruns, just like "Marth."

I was actually thinking of building Canas this way and supporting him with a physical/mixed tank. With Escape route, he can teleport and gain the benefits of his tome's +2 effect, Atk/Spd Bond's +5 effect, their support's +2 effect, and the tank's Drive/Spur effect.
Unfortunately, I don't have any Atk/Spd Bond units to fodder. :<
Most horses are bad due to BST issues and maps literally being designed to make the unit type worse.
Chrome suffers from being in an overinflated spread of units that do his job better for the reasons listed above or have 300 SP exclusive skills to help patch their BST.
I also noticed that most SI targets are lower on the tier list because it tends to be better to use them as fodder unless their base skillset is truly exceptional e.g. Karla has some of the best fodder in the game, but her unique playstyle and relatively cheap builds makes her a powerful unit (although, despite loving Karla, she honestly should probably go to Tier 2 since most whales already have +10 Ayra and Karlas skills are literally too good to merge up.)
I say all this loving Chrome fwiw, but his ability to pass off Chill Def paired with the sheer number of other Falcion users (who can also inherit Sealed Falcion) makes him worse off than other units. Again, this is due largely to how huge the red pool is.
