Overview
This well-known SMG for anyone that played WW2 games, MP40 is sadly an underwhelming SMG in Girls’ Frontline. MP40 is a prime example of what a SMG should not be, as she is an offtank with maintank tiles, borderline useless tile buffs, below-average HP, and awful evasion. With Skorpion and Sten being rewarded to new Commanders on Chapter 1, there’s no reason to ever field MP40, unless you’re a diehard fan of this gun or she is your supreme waifu.

Her above-average FP compensates the 2-star multiplier of her skill, meaning that her performance as Molotov SMG is on par with Skorpion’s.

Having a mediocre 795 HP severely limits her potential as a tank. Considering that her tiles force her on position 5, she will quickly reach critical, compared to Sten, who has higher HP and evasion.
God awful evasion
At 58 evasion, MP40 manages to stand toe to toe with Thompson, arguably one of the least evasive SMGs in the game. Because of this, in any other content other than early game, MP40 will show subpar performance and require repairs more often than most of the SMGs commanders have at their disposal.
Borderline useless tiles
Not only she suffers from having 2-star multiplier on her tiles, but she also buffs Evasion and Accuracy for ARs, the former being useless on ARs while the latter not as helpful as RoF and Damage buffs. As she is an early game SMG, those two buffs do little to help the ARs gun down enemies faster. Not only that, but her tile formation forces her to position 5, when Molotov SMGs usually stay on position 8.

History/Trivia
A 9mm parabellum SMG developed in Germany in 1938, MP40 was the backbone of the Axis forces throughout WW2. Featuring stamped steel parts and the first foldable stock in a SMG, MP40 was a widely produced SMG throughout the war. At the end, it’s estimated that 1;1 million MP40s were produced.
Trivia: 废人, a MICA artist, also has drawn dolls like CAWS, Super-shorty, and Brekkie’s favourite doll from the Va-11 Hall-A collab, Dorothy.
MP40’s VA ironically also voices Skorpion, the 3 star SMG that renders MP40 obsolete since chapter 1.
