Introduction

Welcome to the rerun of the first ever Elemental EX Battle Stage, with the theme of using units that have strong Moon elemental affinity. Compared to the first iteration, this features Event Points just like our usual events. There also exists a x7 Event Points Bonus for clearing the stage daily, allowing you to easily gain points for this event's Exchange Shop. The exchange shop allows you to exchange for the story card, Anniversary at the SDM for 50,000 Event Points 5 times as well as 30 Spirit Points for 100 Event Points 1000 times. The event will last until April 21 at 1:59 UTC.

Fight Overview

Moon EX Battle Stage consists of a 1 wave battle, but unlike the previous iteration, this rerun now re-introduces the Spell Card item mechanic, which restores a spell card that has already been used (including Last Words).

One threat to take note of would be Iku's Last Word. With Iku's Last Word, it not only hits hard, but also restores 4 barriers and breaks any blind anomalies she inflicted. Iku also gives herself 4 Evasion buffs on the final gauge break and even more when below 50% which is fairly tricky to overcome. At the same time, the rabbits will inflict switch lock and graze lock on their gauge break respectively which can be painful to deal with as Iku's basic shots hit really hard.

IMPORTANT NOTE: From now on, HP Gauges will be represented as their in-game icons and will be under the HP column.

What does the stage drop?

After you clear the battle stage, you will be rewarded with 100 Event Points, 400 Player EXP, and 1300 Friend EXP plus a chance to drop Anniversary at the SDM, All Gold Materials, and All Silver Materials.

Anniversary at the SDM is an extremely notable story card as it gives -3 Yin DEF on one enemy at MLB and also provides 25% Laser bullet boost. This is a powerful effect as defense debuffs are multiplicative with attack buffs. Thus, this makes characters like Hecatia Lapislazuli, whose Last Word already hits hard with other story cards, hit even harder on the first turn than any other option.

Recommendations

When it comes to choosing what Friends to bring, the most obvious choice will be those with heavy access to the Moon element and/or have Youkai Killers to ensure critical damage. B3 Watatsuki no Yorihime and B3 Watatsuki no Toyohime fit both of these criteria as well as the newly released B3 Sagume Kishin. For Moon breaks, A8 Reisen Udongein InabaB3 Reisen Udongein Inaba, B3 Sakuya Izayoi, Hecatia Lapislazuli and the units from the Moon Elemental Festival which features Iku Nagae, Sagume Kishin, and Eirin Yagokoro are great options to think about. Outside of Moon elemental units, you can opt to use units that inflicts barrier anomalies like Medicine Melancholy to easily break their barriers. Another example who may do well in this stage is B2 Junko, whose NO elements and good access to anomaly breaks may help people find ways to clear it. A character from the Moon Elemental Festival banner, Yukari Yakumo, can also be used to help clear with her strong defensive buffs and barrier restorations.

As for Story Cards, multiple MLB copies of the Witch of Scarlet Dreams story card will be immediately recommended because immediate access to multiple bullet lines will be essential if you want to give your units more fighting power and barrier breaking potential. If you are lacking in this story card, other options include MLB Midnight Tea and It's Spring. Now to bring out your Friend's damage potential, it is recommended to use the best card for each Friend's Last Word which is augmented with buffs and/or debuffs you are looking to take advantage of.

Below is the video guide made by the Moon EX Battle Stage Contest winner, aajohans#4216 which features how this stage should be approached. While the video is slightly out of date due to the implementation of the spell card item mechanic, the general idea of the video remains the same

Below is the detailed analysis of recommended characters. Do note that this will be updated as time goes on with Moon EX to provide the best possible information. Special thanks to #lostword-strategy for helping us out with this.

Detailed Analysis (Warning - Long)

Name Analysis
B3 Watatsuki no Yorihime Yorihime enables this stage to almost be a piece of cake as she is able to bruteforce through Iku's HP gauge. With the addition of the Spell Card item, she is able to use her Last Word twice, meaning she can just brute force during Gauge 2 and 3 without hesitation.
B3 Watatsuki no Toyohime
B3 Sagume Kishin
B3 Reisen Udongein Inaba
B3 Sakuya Izayoi
Hecatia Lapislazuli
Sagume Kishin
Iku Nagae
Eirin Yagokoro
Medicine Melancholy
B2 Junko
