This Marisa's temperament had already completely diverged from the usual Phase and Essence endowments (Strong against Sun, Moon, and Star Essence but weak to Wood Phase), but now she also has water temperament (Strong against Metal Phase but weak to Earth Phase).

The Spread Shot of Marisa Kirisame (Z1) from the world delirious with eternal summer (a Touhou LW original). She shoots out scalding hot water in this attack. The primary use of the mini hakkero is to heat things up. (The ''ro'' part of hakkero uses the Japanese character for ''furnace.'') Marisa can freely adjust its heat to do anything from cooking miso soup to shooting Master Sparks... though, like all Marisas, she prefers her attacks to have as much firepower as possible. Luckily, water can't usually get any hotter than 212 degrees Fahrenheit (100 degrees Celsius).

If history had followed its proper course, this Spell Card would have probably been called ''Magic Cross: Grand Cross.'' Constellations like the Southern Cross that can only be seen from the opposite side of the world evoke a sense of mystery and adventure. They make you think about what wondrous things Marisa and the others must've seen on their travels across different universes.

The Last Word of Marisa Kirisame (Z1) from the world delirious with eternal summer (a Touhou LW original). She ends summer with this laser attack. Well, this Spell Card won't truly cause summer to end, but it is imbued with that dream. The red Marisa is in the world of eternal summer to solve its mysteries because no one even knows how the world became the way it is. She's the first otherworldly helper brought here for that reason. This Marisa is known for keeping a cool head and taking things more seriously than other Marisas, and since she's more than accustomed to hot environments, she should be able to endure the summer's heat without going crazy. Everyone's counting on you, Marisa!

The ability of Marisa Kirisame (Z1) from the world delirious with eternal summer (a Touhou LW original). It doesn't appear to have diverged much at all from the ability belonging to the Z1 Universe Marisa. And thanks to her extraordinary resistance to the heat, her personality hasn't really been affected by the world of eternal summer. Well, apparently.

In most parallel worlds, this Marisa was the first helper called by Yukari Yakumo to investigate the world of eternal summer. She was mainly tasked with whipping the lazy natives of this world into shape. And she took to this task immediately. She enjoys it.

There are many different versions of Marisa across all the different worlds, but the red Marisa takes things a bit more seriously than most. This might be because she focused on her research while having to suffer through an extraordinarily long ordeal. Coming to the world of eternal summer is probably a pleasant change of pace for her. Luckily, no one seems to mind that one of her ways of letting off steam is yelling orders at everyone.

She transformed her broom into the Sniper Soaker with the mini hakkero attachment. It allows her to focus more magic into her bullets. The usual Marisa has also used her broom like a gun in the past. However, the Sniper Soaker is still just a water gun, so this is all in the name of fun. That said, having fun can mean everything to the people who live in Gensokyo.

This Marisa has several scars. These are from the injuries she suffered when the heat of a blazing star exploded out of her body. She has another big scar on her back, but she usually keeps it hidden under her jacket. It's from when the heat first welled up inside her and large wings of fire burst out of her back.

The red Marisa realized she liked spicy food after she came to this world. The spicier, the better. Whenever she shares her favorite super spicy hot sauce with someone, it sets their mouth on fire. It's said that spiciness and pain are linked, so perhaps everything she's been through has built up her tolerance for both.

The Witch of Scarlet Dreams from the universe with the Scarlet Devil Tower has made her way into a realm of eternal summer, and of course, this means she has her very own swimsuit! Bringing along a sniper rifle named the Sniper Soaker as well as some spicy hot dogs, this fiery version of Marisa Kirisame will use her 1000+ years of experience to take the role of an instructor and train our incident resolvers to up their game. Maybe with this fiery magician’s tough training, a strong team of incident resolvers will have what it takes to handle the Eternal Summer Incident, and then some!

Cz1 Marisa Kirisame is a Speed-Class Friend who spices up the competition with her Agility II buffs, anomaly buffs via Burn, Freeze and Paralyze, a mix of Specular bullets and Yin DEF debuffing, Burn anomaly inflicting and breaking, and some team support, mainly with Spirit Power given to the team across 3 turns.

As an Attacker / Supporter / Debuffer

  • High Yang ATK and Agility stats at 1950 and 1700 respectively.
  • With bullet line elements either being Fire, Sun or Star, if any of those are effective, their damage gets a 30% boost in damage.
  • Skill 3 buffs Spirit Power, both for herself and for allies. The selfish boost is by 1.50 and the team buff is a 0.50 boost, but the latter increases the team’s Spirit Power for 3 turns instead of the usual 1 turn. Passive 3 also grants Cz1 Marisa 0.35 Spirit Power every turn.
  • Team Yang ATK buffs when Boosting and via Last Word Pre-ATK. Also gains a Yang ATK buff on a Spread Shot bullet line.
  • CRIT ATK buffs for the team via Spell Card 2 Pre-ATK.
  • Grants the team some Agility buffs when using Skill 1 and the Pre-ATKs of her Spell Card 1 and Last Word. Selfish Agility buffs are on various bullet lines.
  • Grants the team an Agility II buff via Skill 3 as well as a selfish Agility II buff via Last Word Pre-ATK.
  • The above Agility/Agility II buffs can go towards Cz1 Marisa’s Slice Scaling from 75% on her Shots, to 150% on Line 1 of both Spell Cards, to 240% on Line 1 of her Last Word.
  • Accuracy buffs for the team via Skill 1.
  • Debuffs the Yin DEF of enemies via Skill 2, and some bullet lines in her Last Word.

As a Utility / Barrier Breaker

  • Has a mix of Fire, Sun and Star elements with Fire being the most common. Fire appears 4 times on Spread Shot, 4 times on Spell Card 1, 2 times on Spell Card 2 and on all lines of her Last Word. Star appears mainly on Focus Shot and Spell Card 2 whereas Sun is slightly scattered across her attacks, barring Last Word.
  • Cz1 Marisa benefits from Burn anomalies inflicted on her as they give her a stage of Yang ATK, Yin ATK, CRIT ATK and CRIT Accuracy per layer. She can inflict these on herself via Skill 2 and on a few bullet lines.
  • Cz1 Marisa also benefits from Freeze and Paralyze anomalies, granting her a stage of Agility, Accuracy and Evasion per infliction on her, but she cannot do these herself like with Burn.
  • Inflicts a vast amount of Burn anomalies onto enemies, achieved by using Skill 2 (3 Layers, All targets), both Spell Cards Pre-ATK (4 Layers, 1 Target) and Post-ATKs (2 Layers, All Targets) as well as on various bullet lines. These, alongside any Freeze anomalies are broken via Spell Cards 1 and 2, Last Word and for Burn only, Spread Shot (All 1P).
  • Gains 1-2 Barriers for herself via Skill 1.
  • Reduces her own Focus via a bullet line on both Spell Cards as well as when she gets attacked due to Passive 2.

Spell Card

While Cz1 Marisa is very self-sufficient all things considered, it never hurts to add on cards that boost Spirit Power, or solidifies her Yang ATK or CRIT ATK. Other options include doubling down on her support (team Yang ATK, CRIT ATK, Agility, Accuracy, Spirit Power, etc) and doubling down on debuffs (Yin DEF, CRIT DEF). If the important buffs are covered however, you can look to cards that boost her Spell Card 1 (Laser bullet or Fire element boost) or her Spell Card 2 (Liquid bullet or Star element boost). And of course, stat sticks for Yang ATK and Agility are an option too.

Cz1 Marisa’s Last Word is Full Laser and Full Fire, and a certain Story Card dedicated to her named Red Hot Polaris boost both Laser and Fire by 50% and 45% respectively, while also providing an additional Yin DEF debuff on top. If that isn’t an option however, we have cards that either boost Fire or Laser bullets by 50%, being Night-Splitting Light, Silver Gale, Bonds of Blood and Infinity Garden. Other options including Little Sister and Sweets (45% Laser), Anniversary at the SDM (25% Laser, Target Yin DEF 3 Levels DOWN) and Ordinary Magician (25% Laser, Yang ATK 3 Levels UP, CRIT ATK 1 Level UP) may also work, but ultimately, you’d want to just stick on Red Hot Polaris in any situation.

Character Skill Level Up Recommendations

The first Skill to snipe down should be Ultimate Hot Dog due to that all-important Spirit Power effect, both for herself and for the team, moreso the latter for its uniqueness. Next up shall be Under the Blazing Sun, for a more beneficial overall output when it comes to selfish anomaly inflictions and weakening the Yin side of the defensive stats of enemies via Burn anomalies and Yin DEF (or just an extra Burn anomaly to break). Last up is “Line up, rookies!” since it’s nice to have an extra stage of Accuracy and Agility, but Cz1 Marisa isn’t desperate for this skill to get maxed out compared to others since the Level 1 effects still hold up decently well.

Character Strengths

Spicy Damage Output

The Witch of Scarlets Dreams has massive damage potential that one could dream of, and there are multiple factors making this possible. From a very strong Killer range that mainly includes Gensokyo and Youkai, to an absurdly high Slice scaling especially present, especially in her Last Word (240% Scaling on Line 1) to a mix of both Yang ATK and Agility being just as absurdly high at 1950 and 1700 respectively, to the backing of Agility II buffs on top of the above. With even her Spell Cards having a massive damage potential in their own right, it’s probably an understatement to say that Cz1 Marisa has the ingredients required to create a spicy concoction of power in her arsenal!

Support with a Twist

Having ways to support the team is always welcome, and in Cz1 Marisa’s case, that is present here! From Agility and Accuracy on Skill 1, to CRIT ATK on Spell Card 2 Pre-ATK, to Yang ATK when Boosting and through Last Word Pre-ATK, to Agility II and Spirit Power on Skill 3. However, what makes the Spirit Power support stand out here is that this is granted to the team across the span of 3 turns instead of the usual 1 turn. That free 0.50 Spirit Power buff for the team lasting multiple turns has never happened before, making it special for Cz1 Marisa! It’s also worth noting that she might struggle stacking up Yang ATK for the team outside of her Last Word Pre-ATK, team support and potential Story Cards so that could be worth keeping in mind. As for the Agility II buff to the team, this could really benefit some allies that use this for Slice Scaling, most notably L80 Marisa who already has Agility II buffs and high Slice Scaling.

Well-Rounded Instructor

When it comes to self-sufficiency, Cz1 Marisa has it all covered, and doesn’t need too much help when setting up for damage. She can gain more Yang ATK and CRIT ATK when inflicted with Burn anomalies, also backed up by aforementioned team support that also benefit her just as much as in Yang ATK, CRIT ATK, Agility, Accuracy, Agility II and Spirit Power. This is even backed up by CRIT DEF and Yin DEF debuffing on enemies, and as for Spirit Power, an additional 0.35 Spirit Power from her Passive 3 every turn as well as Skill 3 continuously granting 0.50 Spirit Power for 3 turns is not to be underestimated, making the need to reach the full 3P less tedious.

Character Weaknesses

Sniper Soaker’s Spell Card Limitations

For an Epic Friend like Cz1 Marisa to have 2 Solo-Targeting Spell Cards instead of the now common trend of a Friend having 1 All-Targeting and 1 Solo-Targeting Spell Card is a bit of an elephant in the room, since if on some stages she is faced with multiple waves/gauges, her Focus Shot, even for her can only do so much, especially compared to the colossal damage that Cz1 Marisa can deal. It may be somewhat appropriate for the Sniper Soaker wielder to have Spell Cards that can effortlessly shoot down 1 enemy at a time, and it has to be noted these Spell Cards are still incredibly strong in their own right, but struggling to wipe out multiple enemies in one fell swoop outside of her Last Word could be a problem on specific stages, especially without support.
