Yuki Bare
Expand
Yuki Bare (a Touhou LW original) refers to blue skies that come after a period of snow. This is an apt temperament for this Reimu, who is tasked with clearing the snow clouds from Gensokyo's skies. She's endowed with Wood Phase, which longs for spring, and Sun Essence, which shines through snowy weather.

The strong and kind Wood Phase resists Water Phase, because water nourishes wood, but it is weak to Metal Phase, because metal carves wood.

The alluring and arrogant Sun Essence resists the diverse and uncooperative Star Essence, but it is weak to the cooperative and indecisive Moon Essence.

Character Shots

The Spread Shot of Reimu Hakurei from the world with a never-ending winter. In true shrine maiden fashion, she attacks her enemies with sharp needles. Needle-firing shrine maidens are rare, but everyone in Gensokyo is used to it by now. Apparently, Reimu aims for youkai's pressure points with her needles, so perhaps they all end up feeling so relaxed they lose the will to fight. Or maybe Reimu uses her needles to interfere with her opponents' nervous systems. That's a pretty scary thought! Reimu's fighting style is often said to be somewhat unfitting of a shrine maiden, but it may well find its roots in Taoism and the divine powers said to be related to it. Come to think of it, acupuncture also stems from Taoism.

The Focus Shot of Reimu Hakurei from the world with a never-ending winter. In true shrine maiden fashion, she attacks her enemies with sharp objects made to exterminate youkai. Since Hakurei Shrine collects very little offering money and no one pays Reimu to resolve incidents, exterminating youkai that trouble humans and claiming the reward money is apparently an important source of income for her. She may make some money by performing Shinto rituals, but still... In any case, when it comes to exterminating youkai, Reimu doesn't mess around. (Although, some may disagree.) Judging from Reimu's comfortable lifestyle, she must be exterminating youkai on a regular basis.

A Spell Card of Reimu Hakurei from the world with a never-ending winter. She creates a tall barrier centered on herself. It's said she does this using a cursed ofuda. This Spell Card is thought to act as a foundation for her other barrier-related techniques, which explains why it's so common to see her use it.

A Spell Card of Reimu Hakurei from the world with a never-ending winter. With the power of her mind, she creates two barriers. It's said that barriers are manifestations of a strong will. The strength of your mind directly translates to the strength of the barrier, and if your consciousness wanes, the barrier will become ineffective. This also appears to be true for those affected by a barrier, as it's known that objects devoid of sentience can pass freely through the Great Hakurei Barrier. During battles of bullets, everyone is hyper-focused, so barriers are extremely effective against them.

The Last Word of Reimu Hakurei from the world with a never-ending winter (a Touhou LW original). She prays for winter to end in this attack. The destruction of the seasons is the destruction of the year. And the destruction of the year is equivalent to the destruction of the world. All systems of order are built upon the flow of temperament. Even if Reimu isn't aware of it, the truth underpinning the world is being warped. The world is not ruled by humans, but by a great being that transcends their perception. And to fix the order of the world, you must make contact with them. But who could it be...?

Character Ability

Mainly capable of flight
Expand
The ability of Reimu Hakurei from the world with a never-ending winter (a Touhou LW original). It is essentially the same as our version of Reimu's ability. However, despite having this ability, this world's Reimu is yet to resolve the Spring Snow Incident.

This Reimu cannot defeat Yuyuko. Is it because of a lack of training? A lack of self-discipline? Perhaps a lack of focus? Even if she were to devote herself to training now, she'd never be able to keep up with the incident's expansion. However, Reimu is far too young to give up entirely. (She still has a long life ahead of her.) She has two ideas. Well, technically, two Reimus from two worlds each have one idea…

The first idea is to make contact with whoever raised her to be the Hakurei shrine maiden. All she has are vague memories, but of those she has many. Do they all point to the same person, or do they lead to multiple people, each with their own plans and designs? Either way, she knows the person she's looking for isn't the previous shrine maiden. Are they some sort of psychological cryptid? Or perhaps a beast youkai chimera? Whoever it was that raised Reimu, they should have some answers.

The second idea is to learn the truth of the Great Hakurei Barrier's past. Reimu was certain that the barrier had been made by monks from the outside world since that's what was written in the Gensokyo Record. However, it seems other theories exist. Tending to the barrier is an important part of being the Hakurei shrine maiden, and Reimu wants to uncover the truth about it and its connection to the current incident.

For now, it seems this Reimu is acting on the first idea.

Reimu's Dream Sign loadout includes barriers, which she uses as bombs, and two types of straight-firing needles. After memorizing her enemies' movement patterns, she uses her overwhelming front-facing firepower to annihilate them. However, Reimu believes ofuda may be more effective―at least until she memorizes the movement patterns. There's only one way to see if other items are more effective, and that's to try them for real. Then again, perhaps using items she's used to is still her best bet...
Immune to Barrier Status: Freeze and Poison. When attacked with Freeze or Poison, Spirit Power 0.20 UP.
When using Boost, party's Accuracy 1 level UP (1 turn).
When using Graze, party's Agility 1 level UP (1 turn).

Character Analysis

Reimu Hakurei (Cherry Blossom: Dream) was released on May 22nd 2023 in "Festival Prayer: Perfect Shrine Maidens." For more up-to-date analysis, be sure to visit the Discord Official Discord Server.

Despite being the Hakurei Shrine Maiden notorious for her capability of resolving incidents, it seems the Spring Snow Incident might be too much for this version of Reimu that resents the seemingly endless Winter atmosphere in the Spring Snow Incident. Despite failing to put an end to it, she has managed to prove her resilience and not let Winter get the better of her, no matter how frigid it is for her. Let’s hope she can find a way to stop Yuyuko, and quickly because Reimu looks like she is already shivering from this unnatural weather!

A7B Reimu Hakurei is a Speed-Class Friend who breaks the ice with Poison anomaly utility, great power and immense Wood breaks.

As an Attacker / Supporter

  • Can buff her own Yang ATK via Skill 2 and Last Word.
  • Has Agility buffs for the team via Skill 1, Grazing and Last Word. Skill 2 also buffs Agility for herself.
  • Accuracy buffs for the team are achieved via Boosting, Skill 3 and Last Word.
  • Ability allows her to gain 0.20 Spirit Power for every layer of Poison or Freeze inflicted on herself. This is achieved by Skill 3 and various bullet lines.
  • Conventional Spirit Power boosts via Skills 2 and 3, with Skill 2 serving as minor Spirit Power support.
  • Provides the team Barrier support via Spell Card 2 Post-ATK.
  • Killer range is excellent (includes Youkai, Fairy, Soul, Spring, etc)
  • Uses Slice scaling to her advantage.
  • Can reduce the Yang DEF and CRIT DEF of an enemy via Spell Card 1. A Last Word bullet line also reduces Yang DEF of all enemies.

As a Utility

  • Capable of inflicting Poison anomalies onto enemies as well as immediately breaking them via Spell Card 2. Last Word can also break both Poison and Freeze.
  • Ability allows her to gain 0.20 Spirit Power for every layer of Poison or Freeze inflicted on herself. This is achieved by Skill 3 and various bullet lines.
  • Spell Card 1 has a 100% chance to Stun an enemy at 3P.
  • All 3 Skills have a low cooldown rate and can be used repeatedly in battles (2-3 Turns)
  • Has a great amount of Wood breaks, with a bit of Sun.

Story Card Recommendations

(Card recommendations last updated on December 24, 2023)

Spell Card

The kinds of cards you’ll want to have lined up for A7B Reimu include Spirit Power, Yang ATK, CRIT ATK, and for the Spell Cards, Energy (and/or Wood) for Spell Card 1 and Body for Spell Card 2 if you’re looking for damage there. There is another valid option being Ability Cards? as it gives the whole team 3 turns of Agility and Accuracy, helping go about her low Agility/Accuracy durations on Skills.

When it comes to Spirit Power, cards like The Witch of Scarlet Dreams and Youkai Mountain Anniversary get the job done easily. The latter’s Body Bullet boost could see some good use when used on her Spell Card 2 as well. For Yang ATK, use cards like How Irrational…, Kasen’s Senkai and Ordinary Magician. While the last of those cards also has a slight CRIT ATK boost, cards like Miracle Mallet and Worlds in Hand are also great picks for more dedicated CRIT ATK options.

Finally, if you want to use these Spell Cards for damage, the first card will benefit greatly from cards such as Protection of Cerpinus, Thunder Beat and Unknown Barrier Team. The second Spell Card will have cards such as Beach Sanshoku Geidontei, Stand-In Shrine Maiden and Undercover Reporter. To add to both, Choose an Animal Spirit, having a 50% boost in both Energy and Body is a solid choice for either Spell Card, while also giving 3 Barriers to A7B Reimu.

Last Word

With a full-Wood Last Word as well as Full-Ofuda, you can go two different options with what kind of Story Card you want to use when it comes to boosting A7B Reimu’s power. You could go the Ofuda route where Summer God, Fantasy Sea reigns supreme with a 50% Boost in Ofuda. Other Ofuda choices include 19th Hakurei Shrine Reitaisai, Reimu’s Great Exorcism, and A Curious Festival. If you are looking to go the Wood route, Little Sister and Sweets is a pretty good choice with the 50% Wood effect it brings to the table. Other Wood options include Infinity Garden, Blue Goodbyes, Protection of Serpinus, Sporadically Margaret and How Irrational…

Character Skill Level Up Recommendations

To start off, Supernatural Border will go from a 4 turn cooldown Skill to a 2 turn one while also providing more Spirit Power for A7B Reimu to help her reach 2P off the bat, as well as a little more Accuracy for the team. Next up is Spring Beckoning, taking it from a 5 turn cooldown to 3 turns as well as increasing her own Yang ATK and Agility more. Lastly is Shrine Maiden Attire which can have its cooldown reduced by 1 turn while slightly increasing the team’s Agility.

Character Strengths

Spring in Reimu’s Step

A7B Reimu has some great damage potential when it comes to what Killers she can access, as well as being able to buff Yang ATK, Agility, Accuracy and Spirit Power. She also has a very large amount of Wood bullets to work with too, and on top of that, she can also grant Barriers to the team via Spell Card 2 if necessary.

No Time to Cool Down

Having 2 Skills with a 3 Turn cooldown duration and another Skill with only 2 Turns is definitely very helpful, and with effects such as Agility, Accuracy, Yang ATK, and most importantly, Spirit Power to take advantage of, A7B Reimu will usually be finding herself ready to go when it comes to Spirit Power gain!

Character Weaknesses

Struggles with Fundamentals like Support and CRIT ATK

While A7B Reimu does have quite a bit of Agility and Accuracy support to work with, those can only take you so far, especially if they don’t have the longest durations. Her Yang ATK is selfish, and her Spirit Power support is very minimal, but on top of it all, she is completely missing any form of CRIT ATK which would help a lot when hitting Killers (although CRIT DEF debuffing on Spell Card 1 could help out in some situations).
