Character Analysis
Suika Ibuki was released on June 25th, 2021 in Festival: Dreams, Illusion, and Sake.
Suika Ibuki is a fairly atypical oni. She’s smaller than most of her kind, with more of a penchant for trickery and plotting. Still though, she lives for what most oni do - drink and party, to the point where she claims she hasn’t been sober in hundreds of years. And like most oni, even if she’s a bit of a trickster and underhanded, she’s still devastatingly powerful. Between her ability to grow to gigantic or shrink to tiny sizes, or just plain out knocking someone out with her overwhelming power, Suika Ibuki is a S Tier Friend.
For farming, Suika’s All Last Word deals remarkably good damage on turn 1. It’s all Metal Element however at 1 Power, and Suika’s damage isn’t quite good enough to compensate for this. To a limited extent, the Anti-Human and Anti-Youkai damage on the second Bullet can help, but for the moment you may find Suika runs into some trouble against Metal-resistant foes, especially if she is not fully Awakened with a maxed out Skill 3.
For hard fights, Suika is a unit who does it all well. She brings the prior mentioned incredibly damaging All Last Word, but on top of that she also brings a wide suite of team support. Between her passive providing team wide Yin ATK Up on graze, her All Last Word providing Yin & Yang DEF Down, and her second Spell Card providing team wide Accuracy up, Suika’s team support would be remarkably good even if she didn’t do much damage. Perhaps the only real flaw she has in hard fights is her Barrier Breaking access is merely above average, between a 1 Fire Break at 0 Power basic shot and 1/2/3 Fire Breaks for 0/1/2 Power on her second Spell Card.
Overall, Suika’s a remarkably strong unit who brings both a ton of damage and a lot of team support to the tale. She might look small, but she’s still an oni!
Here are the chances for Suika’s secondary effects, alongside her Hard scaling (per bullet):
Kishin's Will-o'-Wisp Art:
Hard: 25%/0%/0%/0%/30%/35%
Forgathering Spiritual Flowers:
Chance for Evasion DOWN: 20%/0%/0%/0%/0%/30%
Oni Sign: Missing Power:

Night Parade of a Million Demons:

Story Card Recommendations
(Card recommendations last updated on May 15, 2023)
Spell Card
When it comes to Story Cards, focusing on what is important here such as Yin ATK, CRIT ATK and Spirit Power is the way to go here. Suika cannot provide herself Spirit Power so we need to support her with 2.00 Spirit Power cards like The Witch of Scarlet Dreams, or Youkai Mountain Anniversary and Mountain of Faith for Spell Cards 1 and 2 respectively if you want to have fun with damage too.
Now for CRIT ATK, Suika doesn't provide this for herself naturally so to take advantage of her Youkai Killer on her Last Word, Miracle Mallet, Worlds in Hand, and Bloody Order help with this. Yin ATK buffs can also be performed with cards like Overwhelming Firepower, Rainbow Dragon Cave and Redder Than Blood. If you have access to this card though, New Year's Shrine Visit VI handles both by making their buffs last 3 turns.
If you want to focus more on Spell Card 1's damage though, you could use cards like Stand-In Shrine Maiden, Beach Sanshoku Geidontei and Choose an Animal Spirit for the Body boost, as well as Puppeteer and Necromancer for the non-elemental bonus as well as Yin Stat sticks. And if you want more damage from Spell Card 2 specifically, Silver Gale, Puppeteer and Necromancer and Bonds of Blood work too.
Last Word
For a long time, Mysterious Sword Master was far and away Suika's best option, then The Moon and Izayoi became a notable option due to similar Slash effects, just lacking the extra Accuracy. As long as Accuracy is covered like from her Second Spell Card, both of those are outdone by Disillusion in spectacular fashion! The important Yin bullets also being Metal (lines 1, 2 and 6) will get a 95% boost, and while we can't take advantage of these effects just yet, it's a case of "Please wait warmly", so settling with Mysterious Sword Master and The Moon and Izayoi (most cases the former) will be perfectly fine.
Character Skill Level Up Recommendations
Three Chain Weights should be prioritized first and leveled up to 10, as it provides Suika with a not insubstantial amount of extra personal damage. Secondly, Oni Are Never False should be leveled up to 10, as the extra Barrier allows Suika to be more flexible with her Graze. Lastly, Ibuki Gourd can wait, as the survivability, while nice, isn’t strictly needed for Suika to do her job.
Character Strengths
+ Extremely damaging All targeting Last Word at 1 Power that scales well with additional Spirit Power.
+ All-target Last Word inflicts 2 Levels of Yin & Yang DEF Down for 3 Turns
+ Graze provides 1 Level of Yin ATK Up for 1 Turn for entire team
+ Second Spell Card provides 3 Levels of Accuracy Up for 3 Turns for Suika’s entire team
Character Weaknesses
- Only team support is on her Last Word's debuffs
- Very low on focused elemental breaks
