Wakasagihime's ability as a mermaid. This is an apt power for a water-dwelling youkai, but it doesn't really help her in battles of bullets since they are mostly conducted in the sky. Perhaps she is known as a gentle youkai because she is comparatively less powerful out of the water.

There are many tales all over the world about the species known as mermaids. The most famous story is probably the fairytale about a little mermaid written by a renowned author. The ancient legends of mermaids depict them as beautiful, long-lived, otherworldy creatures in a similar vein to fairies. In Japan, the most famous mermaid tale is that of Yao Bikuni, which is about a girl who became a nun after acquiring immortality by mistakenly eating the flesh of a mermaid. There are legends where mermaid meat was served in other worlds like the Dragon Palace, and it is depicted as a type of panacea that grants eternal youth and longevity. Regardless of origin, tales of mermaids generally seem to agree that they are ephemeral creatures.

Even in this modern day, the ocean remains a treasure trove of mysteries to the humans who live on land, and the water's edge is a barrier that separates these other worlds. Perhaps all beings who live on this barrier are ephemeral and delicate.

The Mermaid of the Misty Lake makes a splash! Born of tail and fin and blessed with a princess-like elegance, Wakasagihime is part of the Youkai Grassroots Network that rose up in rebellion during the events of Double Dealing Character. Her quiet, level-headed demeanour manifests as a Support-class Friend who is ever at the ready to assist her compatriots in battle.

Though it may not seem as important due to Wakasagihime's nature as a Support-type Friend, The Witch of Scarlet Dreams can keep her stocked for Water breaks, and allow her to maximize her Last Word's supportive capabilities which scales with Boosts. To double down on her Support though, cards that boost the team's Yang ATK, Yin ATK, CRIT ATK, Spirit Power or Accuracy are helpful here. For offensive options on her first two Spell Cards, go with Sharp Boosting Cards on Spell Card 1 and Liquid Boosting options on Spell Card 2. Both Spell Cards have options that could potentially boost damage for their respective card by at least 50% (or more with Water + Liquid cards for Spell Card 2), transforming her from meek minnow to Threatening Tuna against her foes.

Some Boosts for the party you might want to consider would probably include Accuracy and Spirit Power above all else, although if you want, you can also look to Yang ATK, Yin ATK, CRIT ATK, Barriers and even CRIT Accuracy if necessary to help fellow DEST Friends max out their CRIT rate.
