Touhou LostWord JP celebrated its 3rd Anniversary on the 28th of April 2023 with a very eventful stream. A lot of things were revealed. ZUN still showed up too! Although, I must ask a question. Ever had a problem with the steep cost of farming with fully upgraded and awakened Friends? Well, you might want to read below to know that there's a solution to that issue now!
In this article, we'll be taking a look at the highlights of the stream. That'd be everything game related and anything significant. If you want to watch the footage of the stream yourself, you can do so down below. You will notice that it starts with an 80~ minute long montage of the THLW MVs that are released as of pre-stream time (All 18 of them!). It personally rekindled my liking for some songs I didn't listen to for a while.

Fans of data, rejoice! Here we'll be looking at statistics for the THLW JP YouTube channel, as it reached over 72 million total views and over 1 million hours in watch time!

Quality of Life Improvements
Huge QoL improvements are coming our way. We start off with the cleaner Story user interface for each chapter. And for those that have always wanted to know who the VA of their favorite character is, we can do that now too!
And for our last QoL update, a heavily demanded feature; Now we can reduce the amount of SP a team takes, by reducing their total power.
Keep in mind this modifies just the raw stats of a unit to be lower, and keeps the awakened pre-ATK and post-ATK effects, alongside the damage multipliers.
% of total SP reduced from a team = % of stats reduced from each unit in that team
The minimum cost for each unit in a team is 5sp, so you can always lower the total cost to 5 x n
n being the number of units in said team.
Awakening your Friends fully is amazing now as they can be used much more cheaply and conveniently.
New Story and The Friends It Brings
Chapter 4 Act 3 goes live! But only the first part of it, because we're getting more mid may!
The stream also announced 2 new Friends of the Epic variety; The Scarlet Sisters of the C3 Universe. Remilia Scarlet (Vampire Preparing for Flowing Water and Sunlight) the DEF class Friend, & Flandre Scarlet (Vampire's Younger Sister Preparing for Flowing Water and Sunlight) the DBF class Friend are going live in their separate Banners the 30th of April. But these aren't just any Epic Friends. They're bringing a new type of Buffs/Debuffs, Tier 2. These can stack on top of the already existing effects, effectively leading to more damage.

Fantasy Rebirth
As usual, we got Fantasy Rebirth news. But first, let's marvel at how far we've come. So many Fantasy Rebirth Costumes!
And now for the main news, the original 6 B3 Friends are all getting their Fantasy Rebirth stages, and the next batch of Fantasy Rebirth Friends (for May) is Wriggle Nightbug, Mystia Lorelei, Joon Yorigami, Shion Yorigami, Keine Kamishirasawa. With the next costumes to be released being Raiko and Nemuno's.
But that's not all! We got a lot of enhancements to the following Friends: L1 Youmu Konpaku, R8 Youmu Konpaku, L1 Marisa Kirisame, L1 Remilia Scarlet, L1 Flandre Scarlet, L1 Sanae Kochiya and L1 Yuyuko Saigyouji.

MV Project News
After a Video Letter from Haruki Momoi, we got to see the fruit of her, IOSYS, and the rest of the team's labor. Patchouli Knowledge's MV, (TT) Precious Words !
After the adorable song, we're getting great news. All the MV songs below are available on many streaming platforms.
Considering that ELEMENTAS & Rute from A-One were present, it is worth mentioning that Flandre's MV "I'm Alright!" Has reached over 1M Views! Awesome!
In other news, 2 new songs will be added to the rhythm minigame, Reimu's Great Exorcism, and those are Satori's MV NAЯAKA, and Melody of Guidance.
Lastly, a lot of the MV songs will be available on the DAM Karaoke app as seen below!
Events, DS & Reruns
Beginning with Events, we're back to school with Sakuya and Youmu in a school themed event!
The event will allow you to get 1 Paper Disk and 1 Epic Paper Doll!
Then we get sneak peeks into the upcoming event reruns!
And we also got a sneak peek into mid-may's new event's costumes.
Notice anything odd there? Yep, Yuuma Toutetsu is finally coming!
The animal kingdom trio has great costumes!
And of course, we're getting some new DS stages with Spell Cards that amplify the previously mentioned Epic Friends' capabilities, in addition to reruns of old DS stages.
Lastly, we got some cool reruns of rare Friends! In fact, there'll be a Banner with one Epic Friend with rate-up, and the Epic Friend will change daily to cover all the first 6 Epic Friends. A similar second banner for Relic Friends will also run alongside it.

In addition to the SMILE BASE Cafe collab, a lot of merch was showcased. From acrylic figurines to Fumos, we can see it all in the images below. You will also notice A-One's new Touhou Eurobeat album, Shell Shock!
