Should You Pull?

Maybe, if you really like Ringo, Seiran, or both. Of the two, Ringo is an above average but still general pool buff machine, and Seiran is firmly below average. As such, this is a banner you pull on if you like either character (or both), as it’ll be your best chance to get them.

Quick Overview

+Fantastic access to Yang ATK & DEF Up, plus solid access to Agility Up
-Somewhat low damage
-Below average Break potential

+Earth and Moon Breaks
-Low Damage
-Her debuffs aren’t very helpful

Ringo

Once a member of the “Eagle Ravi” Earth Recon Unit, Ringo is a Lunar Rabbit who was sent to purify the earth, as a backup plan during the events of Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom - her job was to coordinate the unit. To make a long story short, a woman named Junko attempted to get revenge on the Lunar Capital by flooding it with impurity (life energy) in the form of fairies. When that failed, and the Lunar Capital went back to normal, Ringo and Seiran decided to simply desert and live on the earth (as Lunar Rabbits are treated very poorly on the moon), each of them opening up a separate dango stand in Gensokyo. Now, they live out their days as rivals.

Ringo’s ability is to eat dango to get stronger - so perhaps it’s no surprise her kit’s absolutely stuffed with it. The most notable part of Ringo’s kit are her three forms of dango - err, skills. The first, Goma Dango, buffs all her allies with 1 Level of Agility and Yin DEF Up for 2 Turns, with a 50% chance for 1 more of each. This dango is coated in sesame, and tastes savory. The second dango, Mitarashi Dango, buffs all of her allies with 1 Level of Yang DEF and ATK Up for 2 Turns, with a 50% chance for 1 more of each. It tastes sweet-and-spicy, typically coming in a set of 3 to 5 skewered on a stick and coated in a sweet soy sauce glaze. Lastly, the final item on her menu is Anko Dango, which buffs all of her allies with 2 Levels of Yang ATK Up for 1 Turn, with a 80% chance for 1 more. It’s a stereotypical dango skewer topped with red bean paste, and tastes really sweet! Further complimenting all of this is her Character Ability, Capable of growing in strength by eating dango, which gives 1 Level of Yang ATK to the party when she Boosts for 1 Turn and 1 Level of Yang DEF Up when she Grazes for 1 Turn.

Outside of stuffing your teammates with a ton of delicious dango, eating a lot herself, and buffing their Yang ATK, Yang DEF, and Agility by an extreme amount, Ringo also packs a decently powerful Solo targeting Last Word - Clash of the Titans (Mother Theia). It does a decent amount of damage, and buffs the party’s Yang DEF for 1 Level for 2 Turns with a 70%R chance of 1 more, but she’s not going to be farming with it anytime soon. Unfortunately it’s Yin Only, meaning she can’t make the most of her own buffs. Additionally, both of her Spell Cards pack 1/1/1/2 Moon Breaks at 0/1/2/3 Spirit power - a bit below average, but Breaks are Breaks.

Overall, all of this combined makes Ringo a fantastic source of buffs for Yang heavy teams, especially those who also have Hard or Slicing scaling. Her own damage output is a bit small, and she’s got below average Break potential, but the buffs more than make up for it. Just make sure to say her dango’s better than Seiran’s.

Seiran

Seiran’s story is pretty much the same as Ringo’s - only, her job was to scout ahead. Outside of that, her ability is to fire bullets from other dimensions - it’s not clear how this works exactly, but it sure sounds cool.

Outside of this, Seiran’s kit is unfortunately rather anemic in usefulness. She’s got a clear job - best shown by her third skill, Weapon Break, which debuffs a single target with 1 Level of Yin and Yang ATK Down for 2 Turns with a 50% chance of 1 more of each. It’s very emblematic of her kit - providing rather low values of ATK down to single targets, which is - unfortunately, not very useful.

Her first Spell Card, Bullet Sign: The Eagle Has Shot Its Target, is likely the most useful in her kit. It at least provides Yin and Yang ATK down to all targets, rather than just one, and provides a below average amount of Moon Breaks, at 1/1/1/2 for 0/1/2/3 Spirit Power. Her second Spell Card, Evil Bullet: Speed Strike, provides 1/1/1/2 Earth Breaks for 0/1/2/3 Spirit Power. Finally, her Last Word, Lunar Cataclysm, provides an average amount of Earth Breaks, at 1/2/2/3 for 0/1/2/3 Spirit Power.

Overall, if you like Seiran, you can certainly bring her along for Moon or Earth Breaks, or to farm one boss stages on Hard. Just don’t expect much more than that, and make sure to tell her that her dango’s better than Ringo’s.
