The surveillance report that comes with Lingering Echoes surely brought so much feels along with the new lobby image. Kreide ;;;;

But what brought me the feels was the decision to look up on 'Cello-Etude Op. 28, No. 4' mentioned next to Kreide's picture.

Kreide

Entering this into search engines will give me the closest of Frederic Chopin's Prelude Op. 28 No. 4.

The Prelude Op. 28, No. 4 by is one of the 24 Chopin preludes. By Chopin's request, this piece was played at his own funeral, along with Mozart's Requiem.

The piece is only a page long and uses a descending melody line. The melody starts with the dominant B and works its way to the tonic E, but halfway through the piece the descending line is interrupted and the melody starts over again. Only in the last bars does the melody dissolve in the tonic and go through a chord progression to the soothing and satisfying E minor chord. In fact, Chopin's last dynamic marking in the piece is smorzando, which means "dying away".

The original is composed for piano. Chopin does write more piano pieces anyway.

Here is a cello version, more aligned with the Kreide feels and the fact that the cello version sounds even sadder than the original piano version.

I think Chopin's Etude is also a parallel to Schubert's Standchen, which inspired Ebenholz's EP Standchen.

Franz Schubert died at 31 years old. Standchen was written few months before his death and published post-humously. The lyrics is a short story of a person wishing to be loved by another. You can feel two different things: melancholy yearning and hope.

So the Etude and Standchen has similar vibes with the sense of despair.

Besides the Etude, here are also some similarities of Kreide and Chopin.

-Poor health plus a short but fulfilled life:
Chopin’s struggle with ill-health began from a young age and he passed away at 39 years old.. As a child, he had breathing difficulties and frequent diarrhea due to an intolerance to oily food. Nevertheless, his lessons with Polish virtuoso Wojciech Żywny were so successful that he played his first public concert before he was nine. At sixteen, headaches, swollen lymph nodes and breathing difficulties left him in a half-year struggle that almost took his life. Even after returning to Paris, he continued to suffer from chest pains, haemoptysis, headaches and fever. Laryngitis and bronchitis followed in the next four years. By 1837 he had contracted influenza in Paris, and was constantly coughing up blood. Kreide was also rather sickly too.

-Friendship with Franz Liszt, the second Ebenholz prototype after Franz Schubert.
I'll write more in the next Zwillingstrume Im Herbst lore too: Ebenholz has the same first name as Liszt and the PV of the event was on Liszt's birthday.
Chopin and Liszt knew each other and were friends who respected each other's talents. Later on it got more complicated.
Too bad that Ebenholz and Kreide did not have that much time to expand on their friendship. If only.

And that's it for the extra BGM + feels for Lingering Echoes rereun. Lingering Echoes rerun means we are getting closer to Zwillingstrume Im Herbst, the 4.5 anniversary event in Leithania. Even more classical music references in store. Exciting.

There will also be a lore article for the summer event as well, for the stage titles refer to some nursery rhymes and classic songs. Meanwhile also anticipating Chinese New Year banner and that will also be more lore to see too.
