Botzu's Quick Evaluation

+ Trait: Prioritizes lowest DEF enemy first
+ E2 Talent: Chance to stun the target for 2s when attacking targets outside of her default attack range (default range is extended by Skills)
+ High base ATK
+ S2: A high ATK modifier and the unique ability to attack enemies at any spot on the map.
+ S1: long range slows
= Best used to take out low DEF threats or chipping at some boss enemies before they reach the front-line
- Very slow Attack Speed prevents her from having high DPS despite high ATK
- S2: Attack speed becomes even slower against enemies outside of default range

Operator Overview

"I was bored earlier, so I headed down to the bridge to slack off… Err, I meant, I wanted to take a look at the scenery, but everyone was looking at me like I was getting ready to off somebody. Hey, doesn't that mean people see me as a killer? Like I'd ever want a job like that, way too messy."

As a cadet in the Sankta army, Ambriel got away with using a long gun for sniping work because she wasn’t important enough for her boss to care what she did. Now that she works for Rhodes Island, her skill with the weapon has been recognized, and she is permitted to continue as a 4* Long-range Sniper with elements of crowd-control.

Ambriel has a fascinating Talent called Precise Strike, which gives her a chance to Stun enemies when attacking them outside of her default range. In order to extend her reach and activate this Talent, she uses her two Skills. Her Skill 1, Snaring Shot, expands her attack range by 1 grid and adds a strong Slow effect to her attacks--this way, even if her Stun doesn’t proc, she still delays oncoming enemies. However, things really get crazy when her Skill 2, Radar Sweep, enters the mix. Radar Sweep gives Ambriel a hefty ATK buff and infinite attack range for its duration, allowing her to strike anywhere on the field in exchange for a longer attack animation and a slower rate of fire.

The idea of an infinite-range Stun is extremely tempting, but Ambriel’s performance is not without flaws. Slow attack speed, especially while Radar Sweep is active, limits her DPS (despite her high ATK) and diminishes the activation chance of her Talent. If the RNG is feeling cruel, Ambriel may not be able to accomplish much in terms of crowd-control. On the other hand, when luck is on her side, Ambriel can Stun and assassinate opponents from the other side of the screen, long before they even get a glimpse of your frontline.

Newbie Tier List Explanation

Infinite range with S2 can have its uses, and having a Sniper with some crowd control can be convenient. A good base skill makes her a good option to E1 anyway.

Ambriel's global range is an amazing utility at her rarity, and one that is very useful to have. Her relatively low DPS means she isn't a must-raise by any means, but that utility plus a high damage-per-hit (DPH) makes her a very strong contender for 4★ Mastery. S2 is the obvious choice for Mastery here. It has some shockingly large gains over Mastery, with the extra ATK and uptime accounting for over 50% more total damage per activation. Given her utility and low relative cost, Ambriel is a unit that a lot of people will find worth the investment.

Module Analysis

Operator Impact: Medium

Meta Use: Low

Explanation: HG designed the module with Ambriel's S2 in mind, so the impact from it is high (for further info see this article). And you should use Ambriel to occasionally snipe enemies outside of your front line as well. Technically, Ambriel would use her module's effect more, but Andreana gains a little more damage because of the massive ATK she can get as well as not getting any -ASPD.

Base Skill Analysis

Is Ambriel worth promoting to E1 for her RIIC Base Skill?

  • Probably. A great Trading Post buff at an E1 promotion cost will be an improvement for most players.  Although not a particularly strong combat Operator, she has some unique abilities that can be fun to use.

Profile

Ambriel is a citizen of Laterano. After many tests, she was allowed to join Rhodes Island, where her skills in ambushing and long-range sniping helped her perform well in asymmetric operations.
She now serves in the Rhodes Island sniper team, providing long-range support.

Archive File 1

Increase Trust to 50.
Ambriel was born in Laterano. In accordance with the tactical philosophy of the Sankta, Ambriel uses only a gun as her combat weapon of choice. However, unlike most of the other Sankta warriors who pursued modern gun kata techniques, Ambriel chose an outdated but classic rifle. After a simple modification and the installation of additional parts, this long gun quickly proved its worth in subsequent battles.
In Ambriel's words, the only reason she chose this gun was to avoid trouble - she has no desire to engage in close combat with a shorter-ranged gun, nor did she want to lug around the unwieldy components of a modern sniper rifle.
Even though she uses a weapon that is considered anachronistic for the modern battlefield, because of her low-key nature and relatively inconspicuous position, she basically gets her work done, and therefore the top brass has no reason to find any fault with her.

Archive File 2

Increase Trust to 100.
Despite being a Sankta, Ambriel doesn't seem much different from the ordinary person. She is easygoing and not too striking, not seeming out of place to others wherever she might appear. If not for the long gun she carries in her hands, she doesn't seem much different from a student who just left school.
After taking a post in Rhodes Island, Ambriel did not exhibit any unique hobbies. She enjoys snacks and desserts, and likes watching simple TV shows and movies with themes that don't require much thought. On her off days, she sometimes meets and chats with other Sankta operators.
When people did notice her, it was mostly about the gun in her hands. Since Operators thoroughly unfamiliar with gun kata would often proselytize its power and benefits, these conversations often escalated into controversy.
In this regard, Ambriel would quietly sit down and listen to these discussions, thinking silently to herself: 'Good. Now fight.'

Archive File 3

Increase Trust to 150.
An answer that you'll often get from Ambriel is: 'I want something a bit more practical.' However, even she doesn't have a good idea of what that 'practicality' looks like.
Generally speaking, 'practical' refers to a satisfactory salary, stable relationships, trendy products that are novel and interesting, intoxicating luxury goods, and glamorous decorations...
In summation, isn't that just materialism?

Archive File 4

Increase Trust to 200.
Operator Ambriel's personality is rather elusive, and even she has no idea what her personality is supposed to be. Perhaps she is simply accustomed to a life of stasis, and has not had an opportunity that really allows her to see herself clearly.
An opportunity like this is also a chance for a massive change.
Does Ambriel possess the will to change? Everything depends on the choice she makes.

Default
Appointed as Assistant Any work to do today? If it's not urgent, just push everything back a bit.
Talk 1 I can detect nearby creatures with my Originium Arts, and this auxiliary device can further amplify the effect. Sounds great, huh? That's why the Garrison Team sent me to patrol the city, in case there were any students trying to skip school. They sure know how to put people to use.
Talk 2 Just to get this out of the way, this so-called secret of Laterano or whatever? I don't know a single thing about it. I just want to live a leisurely life. The less I know, the better off I'll be, wouldn't you agree?
Talk 3 Hmm? Isn't that person over there from the Notarial Hall? He wanted to make sure I'm 'fulfilling my obligations?' Oh please, I pay my taxes on time every month. Anyway, whether or not that's true, give me a whisper if he's looking for me so I have time to go on a run.
Talk after Promotion 1 I was bored earlier, so I headed down to the bridge to slack off... Err, I meant, I wanted to take a look at the scenery, but everyone was looking at me like I was getting ready to off somebody. Hey, doesn't that mean people see me as a killer? Like I'd ever want a job like that, way too messy.
Talk after Promotion 2 In the past, the top brass used to always harp on 'protecting the glory of Laterano with your life,' but I have no interest in that slogan, and I hate how static and immutable life was during that time. Working with you is way better, since you can give me something more practical.
Talk after Trust Increase 1 My hair's a bit messy? Oh, seems like I forgot to tidied up after getting out of bed. After all, it's not like I have anything to do today... What a pain in the butt. Anyway, come help me out, is my braid all crooked? It always feels a bit weird to me. You really should have a mirror in your office.
Talk after Trust Increase 2 Hey, I have some cake for you. What do you usually do during break? You really should take a lap around the city and get some fresh air, don't you think? As for security, just grab an Operator that can go 'pow pow' on any baddies near you, and you're set.
Talk after Trust Increase 3 Wanna go watch a movie? Our work's just about done anyway. How about that romantic movie about the princess and the wanderer from afar? Wait, I need to hang up my do-not-disturb sign. Wouldn't want someone walking in.
Idle ...Gotta take advantage of a time like this.
Onboard Ambriel, sniper, from Laterano... Introductions are a pain in the butt, so that's it. Here, I just opened this pack of chocolate. Break off a stick.
Watching Battle Record How long is this thing... Is there no option to play all of these at once?
Promotion 1 Thanks. Speaking of which, do these promotions come with a salary increase? There's something I've been looking at recently...
Promotion 2 Oh, thank you very much. I've been with Rhodes Island for quite some time now, right? Without realizing it, I've gotten a whole lot out of this, and made some good memories as well.
Added to Squad My teammates seem quite capable this time.
Appointed as Squad Leader I'll say this up front. My tactics are a little unorthodox.
Depart Ready? Let's get going.
Begin Operation I hope we can wrap this mission up before dinner.
Selecting Operator 1 Hmm?
Selecting Operator 2 Let me finish this piece first.
Deployment 1 Deploying sniper platform.
Deployment 2 Automatically calibrating.
In Battle 1 Over here.
In Battle 2 You should've hidden yourself better.
In Battle 3 It's very dangerous out there.
In Battle 4 I'll send you home.
4-star Result As expected, Doctor, you're the only one who can consistently achieve results like this!
3-star Result Not a single wasted shot - perfect.
Sub 3-star Result Not the prettiest victory, but a win's a win, right?
Operation Failure The number of targets is still increasing, and they're about to launch an attack. Doctor, let's get out of here...
Assigned to Facility Doctor, it's about time to replenish the cookies in the vending machine.
Tap What is it?
Trust Tap I heard that a new line of clothing just arrived in the Procurement Division? Hehe, Doctor, you simply must take me to see it.
Title Arknights.
