Overview
Almost a year and a half after launch, Cygames has finally deemed Luca worthy of a Gala alt. It’s no understatement to label Gala Luca as the embodiment of Crit. Quite literally every part of his kit contains elements of Crit Rate or Crit Damage. While Luca can easily maintain a baseline 20+% Crit Rate on his own, proper equipment and team support allow him to land more Crits than non-Crits. For this reason, Luca outclasses Yachiyo by a solid margin, cementing his place atop the Light meta for many updates to come.
Strengths
Copious CritÂ
Achieving 100% Crit chance on Shining Slash is no challenge. Factors like Gala Euden S2, High Zodiark’s opening blast, and Flurry Devastation grant Luca unparalleled Crit capabilities. Furthermore, a whopping 80% Crit Damage modifier amplifies base values to ludicrous levels.
Weaknesses
Susceptible to PoisonÂ
Unlike most Gala adventurers, Luca lacks dual immunity and cannot comfortably be used in Poison-heavy content.Â
No Paralysis Â
Although Paralyzed Punisher plays a huge role in several powerhouses’ DPS, Luca cannot personally contribute to Paralysis uptime on bosses.
Dragon Recommendations
Gala Thor: Use him if you got him.
Daikokuten remains the supreme power pick, with Whirlwind Strength complementing Flurry Devastation quite nicely.Â
Cupid’s active Skill meshes well with Luca’s kit.
Corsaint Phoenix is a viable pick if running with a Paralysis-friendly team.
