Overview
Heralding the Lunar New Year is Lin You, Wind’s first 5★ melee Adventurer. The Kung-Fu Apprentice has received a new mana spiral and has reclaimed her status as top tier Wind DPS. Although Axes are typically the slowest swinging weapon class, Lin You breaks the mold with enhanced attack rate, built-in Skill Haste, and massive Crit multipliers. Lin You now plays around increased Crit Rate from combo count powerspikes, a feat made feasible with an innately longer combo reset window.
Strengths
Covers Axe Weaknesses
Axes typically connote a sluggish attack speed and, by extension, slow SP gain. Skill Haste and Heaven’s Breath’s increased attack rate work to mitigate this.
Powerful Crit
Axes' unique quality is their naturally higher Crit Rate compared to other weapon classes, and Lin You's kit capitalizes on this boon twofold.
Weaknesses
HP and Combo Gated
One of Lin You’s main draws is her hard-hitting Crits, but this entire portion of her kit is conditional on her staying healthy. While she has some self-healing through Heaven’s Breath, Axe lack mobility, so keeping above the threshold may prove challenging. Even with a more forgiving combo timer, reaching 50 combos is asking a but much of an Axe user.
Dragon Recommendations
Vayu performs virtually identically to Long Long. He's a bit better, but the two are roughly equal.
Long Long is practically tailored to Lin You-- increased Strength and Critical Damage meshes well with her kit.
Roc is a reliable raw damage boost.
Weapon Recommendations
The order of weapon effectiveness for Wind is generally Agito > HDT2 > Chimeratech. At times, it can be more valuable to have the active skill of a HDT2 weapon, but this is somewhat rare.
