Equipment

Special Equipment
SAA Long Barrel

Overview

By providing a balanced buff between Accuracy and Damage, SAA is a good candidate for usage in a variety of echelons, with a focus on MGSG and ARSMG formations.

SAA’s Skill buffs an Echelon’s Damage by 22%, while her tiles buff Damage by 24% and Accuracy by 50%. While her combination and strength of buffs may not be the optimal pick for some HGRF Echelons, she is an excellent choice when lacking options such as Grizzly. Similarly, SAA’s buffs are quite useful in an ARSMG team as a Position 4 buffer, as most ARs will appreciate the Damage gains. The value of her Accuracy tiles only grows at Night when many high Evasion enemies can be encountered. However, as she provides both Damage and Accuracy, which MGs need, SAA is a very good fit in SGMG Echelons, and her accessibility as Career Quest reward makes her a compelling choice.

Strengths

Jack of All Trades

SAA features a kit that is focused on buffing Damage, with bonus Accuracy tiles, and a strong layout that provides universal use.

Weaknesses

Master of None

SAA competes with other prominent Damage buffers, such as Grizzly - who’s Evasion tiles are often more desirable, or Mk23 - who provides better support for Night battles.

Full Analysis

SAA brings with her a decent Damage buff that fits into almost any team, but due to several factors, she’s overshadowed in some Echelon compositions.

The primary focus of SAA is her Damage buffs - 24% Damage tile bonus and 22% buff from her skill. Many RFs will appreciate the Damage buff but the bonus Accuracy may find itself in contention. An exception exists in Nuke RFs; as they need as much Damage as they can get, and SAA’s Damage-focused kit is useful. In the absence of a supportive AR such as M4A or Ribbeyrolles, SAA will find herself a respectable option for a buffer. This holds especially true during Night Battles, where SAA is an excellent choice.

SAA’s main strength, however, is in SGMG Echelons. SAA suits these kinds of Echelons well, as not only do MGs enjoy SAA’s focus on Damage buffing, they also appreciate the additional Accuracy tile that comes with it. Due to her tile layout, SAA will reign supreme as a choice for composing 2MG echelons, fitting neatly between the backline damage dealers. As these Echelons are often more efficient than their 3MG counterparts, the overall strength of SAA’s inclusion is not in doubt.

All in all, SAA is a Jack of All Trades handgun who can find use in almost every scenario, though should be considered a master of none. However, as her alternatives are the 5-Star Grizzly, and the much rarer 4-Star K5, SAA’s combination of performance and accessibility ensure she will always have a use for every Commander.

Team Options

  • Nuke RFs - As SAA provides Damage buffs in both her skill and tile buffs, she fits into Echelons well that include Nuke RFs. Some examples are Springfield and Mosin Nagant.

  • HGs that buff Damage - When SAA is used with Nuke RFs, she’ll want to be used with other Damage-buffing HGs to maximize Damage buffs. Some examples are Welrod and Mk23.

  • MGs - As SAA provides a useful Damage and Accuracy buff for MGs, she can be used with any MG. Some examples of good MGs are MG5, PKP, and PK.

  • SGs - As SAA does not buff the SG, it doesn’t matter which SG she is used with, as long as they fit the Echelon. Some examples of good SGs are KSG and M37.
