Equipment

Special Equipment
SAA Long Barrel

Overview

By providing a balanced buff between Accuracy and Damage, SAA is a good candidate for usage in SGMG echelons.

SAA’s Skill buffs an Echelon’s Damage by 22%, while her tiles buff Damage by 24% and Accuracy by 50%. Most RFs appreciate neither Damage buffs nor Accuracy buffs so SAA sees rare usage in HGRF echelons. And although ARs do appreciate Damage buffs, not only are Accuracy buffs mediocre on ARs, SAA has a tile formation that forces her to replace a damage dealer. This makes her mediocre at best in ARSMG Echelons. However, as she provides both Damage and Accuracy, which MGs need, SAA is a very good fit in SGMG Echelons, and her accessibility makes her a compelling choice.

Strengths

Well-balanced buff

SAA buffs both Damage and Accuracy in her tiles and Damage with her Skill. While not phenomenal, this is a solid buff nevertheless.

Weaknesses

Mediocre tile placement

As SAA buffs only adjacently, replacing a damage dealer to use her is unavoidable in many situations.

Full Analysis

SAA brings with her a decent Damage buff, but due to several factors, she’s hard to use in some Echelon compositions.

The main thing to note about SAA is her buffs, which provide a 24% Damage and 50% Accuracy buff from her tiles, and a 22% Damage buff from her Skill. First and foremost, as RFs appreciate neither the Damage buff nor the Accuracy buff that SAA provides, SAA is a very poor fit in HGRF Echelons. An exception exists in Nuke RFs; as they need as much Damage as they can get, SAA’s Damage-focused kit is useful. While ARSMG Echelons do appreciate the Damage buff, due to SAA only buffing adjacently, she isn’t optimal in ARSMG Echelons because her inclusion means excluding a damage dealer. If someone is lacking HGs that can be slotted into ARSMG Echelons in Night Battles, however, SAA is a decent option in a pinch.

SAA’s main strength, however, is in SGMG Echelons. SAA suits these kinds of Echelons well, as not only do MGs appreciate SAA’s focus on Damage buffing, they also appreciate the additional Accuracy buff that comes with it.. While SAA does need to be used in between MGs –therefore replacing one of them– in order to utilize her buffs, this isn’t as much of a problem as in other Echelon compositions. Not only are MGs strong enough to not need 3MGs most of the time, as most SGs don’t give buffs to the third MG SAA is replacing, there’s not much to lose by including SAA in the Echelon instead. In addition, replacing the third MG with SAA makes the Echelon overall more efficient resources-wise to run, taking some burden off of the player.

All in all, while SAA’s buffs are solid, she finds trouble fitting into some Echelons due to her focus on Damage buffing. In SGMG Echelons, though, she’s a great contender for a spot on the team.

Team Options

  • Nuke RFs - As SAA provides Damage buffs in both her skill and tile buffs, she fits into Echelons well that include Nuke RFs. Some examples are Springfield and Mosin Nagant.

  • HGs that buff Damage - When SAA is used with Nuke RFs, she’ll want to be used with other Damage-buffing HGs to maximize Damage buffs. Some examples are Welrod and Mk23.

  • MGs - As SAA provides a useful Damage and Accuracy buff for MGs, she can be used with any MG. Some examples of good MGs are MG5, PKP, and PK.

  • SGs - As SAA does not buff the SG, it doesn’t matter which SG she is used with, as long as they fit the Echelon. Some examples of good SGs are KSG and M37.
