Kanreigata Heisoku Zensen
Expand
Kanreigata Heisoku Zensen (a Touhou LW original) refers to cold occlusions that occur when a cold front overtakes a warm front and also undercuts the cool air mass ahead of it. This is an apt temperament for Lunasa as her music calms the mind and soul. Lunasa is endowed with Wood Phase, the element of string instruments, and Moon Essence, representing tranquil silence.

The strong and kind Wood Phase resists Water Phase, because water nourishes wood, but it is weak to Metal Phase, because metal carves wood.

The cooperative and indecisive Moon Essence resists the alluring and arrogant Sun Essence, but it is weak to the diverse and uncooperative Star Essence.

Character Shots

The Spread Shot of Lunasa Prismriver from the world shrouded in scarlet mist. She attacks with the sounds produced when tuning her violin spirit. Tapping or knocking sounds in dilapidated mansions may indicate that someone is preparing for a concert. The Prismriver Manor lies in Gensokyo next to the Misty Lake, not far from the Scarlet Devil Mansion. The spooky and old western-style mansion looks like the perfect home for poltergeists.

The Focus Shot of Lunasa Prismriver from the world shrouded in scarlet mist. She plays a calming melody. It is said that poltergeists can affect people's minds with sound. Lunasa's music calms whoever hears it and can even reduce people to a state of abject melancholy and despair. The mental states of living creatures can define how they live. This is evidenced by humans, where even those blessed with happy lives can become self-destructive when forced into the pits of despair. If you ever see Lunasa practicing by the lake, you should probably warn her about this.

A Spell Card of Lunasa Prismriver from the world shrouded in scarlet mist (a Touhou LW original). This attack will later become ''Fake Strings: Pseudo Stradivarius.'' After continually being produced for so long, the scarlet mist eventually seeped into the Netherworld. While it is believed that the mist got there through several routes, it was discovered almost immediately that some mist had come through the Dream World. In a way, there are as many entrances to the Dream World as there are dreamers, so the entire world might get stained scarlet if enough people have nightmares about the scarlet mist.

A Spell Card of Lunasa Prismriver from the world shrouded in scarlet mist (a Touhou LW original). This attack will later become ''Noise Sign: Noise Melancholy.'' There are many mysteries surrounding the Dream World, but one thing is certain: it is not a physical space. It is either spiritual or mental, or perhaps a mixture of the two, evidenced by how the passageway connecting the Moon and Earth is a mental world and the fact that dream souls are a type of spirit. It has long been theorized that a person's soul travels to another place when they sleep, like to a faraway realm, the Underworld, or even into their pillow. Similar ideas can be seen in the legend of Agartha and the tales about rokurokubi.

The Last Word of Lunasa Prismriver from the world shrouded in scarlet mist (a Touhou LW original). This attack will later become ''Noisy Funeral: Stygian Riverside.'' It's almost impossible to retain your memories when forcefully traveling between various worlds, and it gets worse the further you go. That's why Lunasa decided to record her report in music using the Spell Card Rules. She was surprised to discover that Spell Cards could be used in this way, but she has already forgotten that. She traveled with her sisters through the mist-covered Netherworld, past the scarlet-tinted Dream World, to a place they had never seen before... A place they can no longer remember. But somehow, they made it back home bearing a tiny clue.

Seeing the depleted state they returned in, the Yama and the Netherworld princess thought they were like space probes returning with an asteroid sample. They expended almost all of the resources they took with them, but they managed to return with a pinch of dust. A pinch of dust containing priceless knowledge.

Character Ability

Mainly capable of playing instruments without using her hands or feet
Expand
The ability of Lunasa Prismriver from the world shrouded in scarlet mist (a Touhou LW original). It is essentially the same as our version of Lunasa's ability. As of yet, there aren't any reliable records of the Prismriver Sisters doing anything significant around the time of the Scarlet Mist Incident. It is assumed that the sisters of this world performed their own investigations into the incident. However, some people doubt that they even exist at all. Of course, this isn't all that unusual since Gensokyo is built upon the absurdity stemming from the fictitious nature of all youkai, apparitions, and spirits.

The Prismriver Sisters have never been seen performing jobs unrelated to their activities as an ensemble. However, this world's Prismriver Sisters have apparently been commissioned to investigate the prolonged incident. Though, again, it isn't known whether they have any investigative skills to speak of. In fact, not much is known about poltergeists in general. They seem similar to phantoms, but they exist outside the cycle of reincarnation. And how they are tied to their instruments is reminiscent of tsukumogami. One strange story touches upon how Count Prismriver's daughter conjured the poltergeists into being with a magic item found by the count, but it still leaves many questions. With all the mystery surrounding them, it wouldn't be at all strange if they had secret identities and used their power to manipulate sound and phantom-like bodies to travel to and from the spirit world.

Would it surprise you to hear that Otherworlds are connected through music? However, this ''music'' could be an analogy, like how the terms ''color'' and ''flavor'' take on different meanings when used in regard to particles. While, on the one hand, these terms can make complex concepts easier to understand, they can also distort reality. People might actually start believing that particles are like different types of candy. Whether that is a correct assumption to make or not is irrelevant. So, if you were to say that the things connecting different worlds together are melodies, rhythms, and harmonies, that would mean you should be able to connect worlds by holding a concert. It might not work exactly like that, but these Prismriver Sisters have found a way to travel between worlds with music.

Lunasa felt something was up. She couldn't believe that music had such power. By investigating the incident, they discovered that the thing causing the incident to last for so long existed in another world and that one way to find it was through a technique eerily similar to playing music. It was too perfect to be a coincidence. It would be like if the violin that Lunasa had always used just happened to be the perfect tool for battles of bullets... which it is. So maybe this isn't that strange after all. Perhaps music has always been more than just a means of expressing oneself by combining sounds and is, in fact, a force that influences the laws and fabric of the universe. When Lunasa reached this conclusion, memories came flooding back to her... memories of Layla Prismriver.

Character Analysis

Lunasa Prismriver (Scarlet) was released on October 19th 2023 on "Festival Prayer: Scarlet Night Serenade.” For more up-to-date analysis, be sure to visit the Discord Official Discord Server.

The Poltergeist trio of Prismriver Sisters are here to do what they do best once again! This time, we are met with a version of them who initially wanted to hold a concert in the Netherworld, but the Scarlet Mist incident may have become too big of an issue to ignore. Their eldest sister, Lunasa Prismriver is a natural when it comes to playing the violin, and would rather let her string of melodies speak for her!

A6 Lunasa Prismriver is a Technical-Class Friend who strings along Poison anomaly inflict/break potential, a decent mix of Fire and Moon elements, and a fairly well rounded mix of ways to set up her damage.

As a Attacker

  • Gains 1.50 Spirit Power when using Skill 2.
  • Can gain Yang ATK buffs via Skill 2. Some bullet lines have a few Yang DEF debuffs to
  • CRIT ATK buffs for the team when Grazing, Spell Card 1 Pre-ATK, Last Word Pre-ATK and on some bullet lines.
  • Has Accuracy buffs to give to the team via Skill 3.
  • Has Hard Scaling to work with, and her Last Word’s Hard Scalings have a good amount of 120% lines.
  • Has both Yin DEF and Yang DEF buffs for the team via Spell Card 2 Pre-ATK, as well as an additional Yang DEF buff for the team via Last Word Pre-ATK.
  • Killer range includes Soul, Youkai, Dream World, Vampire, Undead, Devil, Maid and Magician.

As a Utility / Breaker

  • Elements include mainly Fire and Moon, with some slight Wood appearing in them.
  • Is immune to Freeze anomalies.
  • Gains a stage of Yang DEF, Yin DEF, CRIT DEF and CRIT Evasion per layer of Poison or Paralyze inflicted on A6 Lunasa. Can inflict Poison anomalies onto herself via Skill 1 (+3 Layers) and Spell Card 2’s bullet lines.
  • Can inflict and break Poison anomalies. Inflictions can come via Skill 1 (2 layers on all targets) and Spell Card 1’s Pre-ATK (2-3 layers on all targets). Both Poison and Burn anomalies are broken via All-Targeting Spell Card 1 (2P) and Last Word (2P) and Paralyze breaks can be performed by just Last Word (2P).
  • Can remove 1-2 binds/stat debuffs of her own via Skill 1.
  • Can gain 1-2 Barriers via Skill 3 and grants the team +2 Barriers after using her Last Word
  • Heals the team’s HP by 40% of A6 Lunasa’s max HP count when using Spell Card 2 Post-ATK.
  • Takes 40% less damage from Scarlet Devil Mansion enemies via Passive 1.

Story Card Recommendations

(Card recommendations last updated on October 19, 2023)

Spell Card

A6 Lunasa will benefit from Spirit Power buffs, whether it’s for herself or for the whole team, whichever one works for you. It also won’t hurt to slightly increase her Yang ATK a little further if necessary, and as for CRIT ATK, it’s already accounted for rather well so it won’t be as mandatory, but that is an option regardless. You could find a few other options here and there like Yang DEF, but at this point, you can probably safely look to boosting the power of her Spell Cards, mainly Normal-boosting cards for Spell Card 1 and Sharp-boosting cards for Spell Card 2.

Last Word

A6 Lunasa might have a slightly awkward mix of Normal and Laser in her Last Word, but with the majority of it being Normal, it leaves Nameless Adventurers and its 50% Normal boost (and +2 Stages of Yang ATK for the team) as her best pick here! For a few other options to capitalize on 4 of those Fire bullets though, we do have Silver Gale and Bonds of Blood with their 50% Fire boosts, as well as Bloody Order with its 40% Boost and its CRIT ATK boost.

Character Skill Level Up Recommendations

First up will be the second Skill, being Detache, which will be music to our ears as it not only increases that Spirit Power gain but also that all-important Yang ATK buff for A6 Lunasa. Next up will be Pizzicato mainly for the team Accuracy boost being enough to to take a standard Accuracy rate from 75% to 100%. Last up will be the first one, Glissando, mainly for the Poison anomaly inflictions on herself as well as onto others.

Character Strengths

Strings of Self-Sufficiency

A6 Lunasa is rather well rounded when it comes to setting up important buffs for herself. From 4 Stages of Yang ATK for herself via Skill 2, to lots of CRIT ATK buffs when Grazing or through a Pre-ATK of Spell Card 1 or Last Word (which all can be granted to the team), to Accuracy buffs for the team, to even Yang DEF buffs for her Hard Scaling. A6 Lunasa’s strings of various effects she can bring to the table make her a very balanced musician and Friend!

Violin Poltergeist’s Power Play

They say it’s the quiet ones to watch out for, and that definitely applies to A6 Lunasa, as her damage potential is rather strong and with the above, she can use that self-sufficiency to help bring out the damage needed, like with strong Hard Scaling on her Last Word as well as strong Killers mainly spearheaded by Youkai and Soul.

Break and Encore

A6 Lunasa also has a few other tricks up her sleeve, like with potential Bind Removal on Skill 1, Barrier restoration either for herself or for allies, and benefits from Poison and Paralyze anomalies as they will provide her defensive buffs. Speaking of anomalies, she can inflict 2 layers of Poison on all enemies also through Skill 1, then inflict 2-3 more with Spell Card 1 and break them via the same Spell Card as well as her Last Word, both at 2P, so A6 Lunasa can inflict and break at least 4 Poison anomalies onto her enemies.

Character Weaknesses

RNG in Kit via Multiple Means

Unfortunately, in a game like Touhou LostWord that is geared towards farming, A6’s Lunasa’s uncertainty of 1-2 Bind Removals/Stat Debuffs on Skill 1, the 1-2 Barriers gained for herself via Skill 3 and the amount of Poison anomalies inflicted on her enemies via Spell Card 1 ranging from 2-3 may come as a bit of an issue for some, especially if you plan to use A6 Lunasa for farming. That said, it can still be possible to work around, and in clear content, it’s not going to be a huge factor, but this is worth keeping in mind regardless.
