Merlin planned to only record the important details in her Spell Cards, but all the new info far exceeded their storage capacity. Left with no other option, she filled her Spell Cards up with as much information as she could... but when the sisters got back and examined them, they were speechless. Most of the data was utterly worthless. Devoid of the necessary context, the words devolved into mere strings of indecipherable code. However, not all hope was lost. The Spell Cards still contained a few coherent clues.

Character Analysis
Merlin Prismriver (Scarlet) was released on October 26th 2023 on "Festival Prayer: Happy Scarlet Sonata." For more up-to-date analysis, be sure to visit the Official Discord Server.
The Poltergeist trio of Prismriver Sisters are here to do what they do best once again! This time, we are met with a version of them who initially wanted to hold a concert in the Netherworld, but the Scarlet Mist incident may have become too big of an issue to ignore. Their middle sister, Merlin Prismriver is a prodigy when it comes to her trumpet of triumph. This happy trumpeter certainly likes to toot her own horn, even in an overpowering crimson mist!
A6 Merlin Prismriver is an Attack-Class Friend who trumps the competition with offensive buffs and debuffs the Yang DEF and CRIT DEF of enemies, while also subjecting an enemy to Poison and Paralyze inflictions/breaks.
As a Attacker / Supporter / Debuffer
- A6 Merlin’s elemental damage is increased by 25% if any of her bullet lines’ elements are effective against her target(s).
- Her Spirit Power buffs for herself include 0.75 on Skill 1 and 1.20 on Spell Card 2 Post-ATK. She also increases the team’s Spirit Power via Skill 3 and Spell Card 1 Post-ATK.
- Team Yang ATK buffs come through Grazing and Last Word Pre-ATK. Selfish buffs come from Focus Shot bullet lines.
- Yang DEF debuffs on enemies achieved with Skill 2 and Spell Card 1 Pre-ATK, as well as Spread Shot on a single enemy.
- CRIT ATK buffs for the team gained with Skill 3 and Last Word Pre-ATK.
- CRIT DEF debuffs via Skill 2 (all enemies), Spell Card 2 Pre-ATK (single enemy) and Last Word Pre-ATK (all enemies).
- Skill 1 gives her Accuracy buffs.
- Skill 1 also gives her Agility buffs. This also goes towards her Slice Scaling.
- In addition to the above, A6 Merlin also benefits from Hard Scaling.
- Soul, Youkai, Dream World, Vampire, Undead, Devil, Maid and Magician are A6 Merlin’s Killers.
As a Utility / Breaker
- Elements are a mix of Fire, Sun and Metal across her kit.
- Is unaffected by the effects of Burn, Paralyze and Poison when inflicted with them.
- Inflicts 4 Layers of Poison on an enemy with Skill 2 and 4 Layers of Paralyze on an enemy with Spell Card 2 Pre-ATK. Paralyze anomalies can also be inflicted on 2 bullet lines of the same Spell Card 2 as well as multiple enemies with 3 of Spell Card 1's bullet lines. Poison Barriers can be broken via Spell Card 1, Spell Card 2 and Last Word, Paralyze anomalies are broken with just Spell Card 2 and Last Word and Burn anomalies are only broken with Last Word. All of the above is achieved at 3P.
- Takes 40% less damage from Scarlet Devil Mansion enemies via Passive 1.
Story Card Recommendations
(Card recommendations last updated on October 26, 2023)
Spell Card
It might be good for A6 Merlin to double down more on her already pre-existing buffs, especially Yang ATK so it can be stacked up and properly utilized. In addition, Spirit Power increases (both for the team and for herself) will help a lot as attacks at 3P will be rather powerful. Other possible options may include Sharp bullets for extra Spell Card damage, as well as maybe Fire and Metal boosting options for Spell Cards 1 and 2 respectively.

Last Word
Following the lead of her older sister, A6 Merlin’s Last Word distribution is conveniently similar to hers: Mostly Normal bullets with a little bit of Laser, as well as a lot of Fire elemental bullets, making Nameless Adventurers a solid pick for both its 50% boost in Normal bullets and its teamwide Yang ATK buff. For the 50% Fire boosting options, SIlver Gale and Bonds of Blood are your best bets, although the former has a more favorable set of stat sticks. Finally, if you want more CRIT ATK or the above isn’t available, there is still Bloody Order to work with.
Character Skill Level Up Recommendations
For Skill leveling up, we will start with the first one, being Glissando. The 0.75 Spirit Power as well as Skill 3’s level 1 effects ensure A6 Merlin can reach 2P with her own Skills, but in addition, the Accuracy buff ensures her attacks will land and the Agility buff will go towards Slice Scaling. The third Skill, Half-Valve marks the halfway point. Granting the team 0.75 Spirit Power as well as some CRIT ATK will be helpful. Finally, Skill number 2, Growl’s debuffing effects and Poison anomaly inflictions are very handy, but can manage with being 3rd in line.
Character Strengths
Powerful Poltergeist
Enemies that may lock horns with A6 Merlin may find themselves being subjected to high amounts of damage, especially at 3P. From her solid Killer range (most notably Youkai), to generally high damage potential, A6 Merlin is primed for power, as expected from an Attack-Class Friend.
Harmonious Balance of Offense, Support and Debuff
Not only can A6 Merlin be a powerhouse, but she is able to shoehorn in some handy support here and there, such as Spirit Power for the team as well as CRIT ATK, and even quick bursts of Yang ATK. In addition, she can also do her part in debuffing the Yang DEF and CRIT DEF of her competition which can not only benefit herself, but also potentially other allies, mainly Yang ones and/or ones who will hit their Killers.
Character Weaknesses
May Struggle Maintaining Yang ATK Buffs
Despite the helpful Yang DEF debuffs in A6 Merlin’s kit, if for whatever reason those aren’t in play or aren’t as effective and she has to rely on Yang ATK buffs, unless she has Story Cards or other allies supporting her, she is going to struggle a lot with them in general. This is because her only ways of gaining it are given to the team by Grazing as well as with her Last Word’s Pre-ATK, and she can give herself a little boost in it with her Spread Shot Bullet lines. Regardless, these aren’t the most ideal ways of gaining it, and they don’t even last long, so definitely keep this in mind.
