Maintain the Date?
Players that tried to log in early after the maintenance started got an interesting surprise:
A maintenance notice for December 28, 2021! Not long after, the maintenance notice was changed to display December 9, today's date and the beginning of the [Preluding Lights] event.
So was the December 28th mistakenly used because that is the date of the NEXT event? Or is the date purely random or a copy paste type error?
9 and 28 aren't exactly close on the keyboard, making a typo less likely. Could this have been a copy-paste error from another event? For CN Events, the only other event that started on a "28th" was CC#2 Operation Blade, which started on 7/28/2020. For Global Events, there are 2 that started on a "28th", Twilight of Wolumonde on 10/28/2020 and CC#3 Operation Cinder, which started on 5/28/2021. Based on that, it seems rather unlikely this was a copy-paste error.
On the other hand, Preluding Lights event stages closes on Dec 16th, so if the event after doesn't start until December 28th, that is a whopping 12 days of dead time in between events, which might seem like a lot considering how much dead time we've had recently.
What event would it be IF an event starts on December 28th?
An obvious guess would be be the Dossoles Holiday event as the 2nd Anniversary event. Last year's 1st Anniversary event happened on December 30th, so the dates would line up pretty closely. This would also mean that 1st anniversary packs would be up for sale, and Limited Operator Ch'en the Holungday would be on a banner over the Holiday and New Year spending time.
This would put the events very out-of-order for Global compared to CN, though it has happened before. Going by the CN schedule, the next event would be either the ToW Rerun with Suzuran on a banner or Interlocking Competition with Pallas on the banner. Running one of these events first would push the 2nd Anniversary event date closer to the true anniversary/release date of January 16.
