Hatsu Bare (a Touhou LW original) refers to blue skies on New Year's Day. This is an apt temperament for this Reimu, who is tasked with clearing the snow clouds from Gensokyo's skies. She's endowed with Wood Phase, which longs for spring, and Sun Essence, which shines through snowy weather.

The strong and kind Wood Phase resists Water Phase, because water nourishes wood, but it is weak to Metal Phase, because metal carves wood.

The alluring and arrogant Sun Essence resists the diverse and uncooperative Star Essence, but it is weak to the cooperative and indecisive Moon Essence.

The Spread Shot of Reimu Hakurei from the world with a never-ending winter. In true shrine maiden fashion, she attacks her enemies with homing ofuda. These familiar ofuda are synonymous with Reimu and are probably her most fired. Some people may question why they automatically lock onto their target and fly toward them, but this effect is something often seen in games and old movies. It's hardly suspicious that a shrine maiden of Gensokyo can pull off the same trick.

The Focus Shot of Reimu Hakurei from the world with a never-ending winter. In true shrine maiden fashion, she attacks her enemies with giant, perfectly square ofuda that look like cushions. As well as the traditional rectangular-shaped ofuda, Reimu can often be seen firing square ones too. Perhaps square ofuda are thought of as rare, but they're sometimes made that way depending on the dimensions of the seal inscribed on them. In fact, square ofuda are super handy since they fly straight. Plus, it's easy to tell when they hit their target.

The Last Word of Reimu Hakurei from the world with a never-ending winter (a Touhou LW original). She prays for spring's return in this attack. Without spring, the cherry blossoms in Hakurei Shrine won't bloom, which means no cherry blossom viewing parties. But right now, that's the least of Reimu's concerns. If spring never comes, neither will summer or autumn. In other words, Gensokyo will be left to shiver beneath the snows forever. The people in the human village can only take so much. They beg Reimu to reclaim spring.

The ability of Reimu Hakurei from the world with a never-ending winter (a Touhou LW original). It is essentially the same as our version of Reimu's ability. However, despite having this ability, this world's Reimu is yet to resolve the Spring Snow Incident.

It seems this Reimu isn't strong enough to defeat Yuyuko. (Often times she gets blasted away before even reaching Yuyuko.) It's believed her shortcomings are the same as the Reimu who can't resolve the Scarlet Mist Incident. However, what separates this incident from the Scarlet Mist Incident is that, if this one doesn't get resolved, Yuyuko's wish will come true, leading to disaster. However, even though this incident has been prolonged, nothing of the sort has occurred. Instead, spring continues to gather in the Netherworld indefinitely, and Gensokyo continues to be trapped in winter. The flow of seasons hasn't halted, but the next season never seems to arrive, much like how Achilles can never quite catch up to the tortoise. The Netherworld inches closer to a perfect spring, while Gensokyo descends toward a perfect winter, with neither ever completing their journey. It can be said the entire universe is in this state of division. Yuyuko represents the boundary between life and death, and she herself has come to play a role in supporting this division between the Netherworld and Gensokyo.

Reimu's Spirit Sign loadout includes Fantasy Seals, which she uses as bombs, and two types of homing ofuda. It's thought Reimu uses these items as a result of her desire to defeat her opponents with absolute certainty. But when it comes to battling Yuyuko, Reimu believes she still lacks firepower. There's only one way to see if other items are more effective, and that's to try them for real. Then again, perhaps using items she's used to is still her best bet...

Character Analysis

Reimu Hakurei (Cherry Blossom: Spirit) was released on May 22nd 2023 in Prayer “Perfect Shrine Maidens Festival”

Despite being the Hakurei Shrine Maiden notorious for her capability of resolving incidents, it seems the Spring Snow Incident might be too much for this version of Reimu that is subjected to the coldness of Winter, similar to how the Scarlet Mist Incident was too much for another version of herself. But it’s like the saying goes: If at first you don’t succeed, try again. And with that came a lot of experience and growth for our Shrine Maiden, meaning that the further she improves and learns from her shortcomings, will she finally be able to defeat Yuyuko and put an end to this incident? Only time will tell.

A7A Reimu Hakurei is a Technical-Class Friend who takes advantage of Freeze anomalies, Wood Breaks, and great damage potential you’d expect from the Wonderful Shrine Maiden of Paradise.

As an Attacker / Support

Can buff her Yang ATK via Skill 3, a Focus Shot bullet line and buffs the team with it via Last Word and Boosting.
Increases her Spirit Power via Skills 1 and 3, Spell Card 2 and Last Word. Spell Card 2’s Spirit Power is also team-wide while her Last Word gives her 2.00 after usage.
Does 25% more damage to enemies if elements are effective. (Has a lot of Wood to work with, as well as Sun and Water to a lesser extent)

A7A Reimu will definitely appreciate the leg-up from cards that boost Spirit Power, Yang ATK, CRIT ATK and Light damage UP if necessary. On the Spirit Power side of things, cards like The Witch of Scarlet Dreams, Dancer in the Puddle or even Mountain of Faith if accessible will do wonders, with the last of the above also providing a little Light Bullet boost. Next up will be Yang ATK buffs. Cards like How Irrational…, Kasen’s Senkai or Ordinary Magician won’t disappoint, and with the last of those also having a slight CRIT ATK boost, it could be very beneficial when taking advantage of Killers, although if you just want the CRIT ATK, Miracle Mallet is a solid pick. Finally, Puppeteer and Necromancer, is the go-to card if you just want to use her Spell Cards for damage.

19th Hakurei Shrine Reitaisai

With an Ofuda Last Word, Summer God, Fantasy Sea simply (fantasy) seals the deal with its 50% Ofuda boost. However, other options for her 4 Wood bullets can be used like Little Sister and Sweets and Blue Goodbyes providing a 50% and 45% boost in it respectively. A7A can also capitalize on the latter’s CRIT DEF debuff on enemies due to being a Technical unit too. If these options are too difficult to come by and you still want serviceable options, go for cards like How Irrational…, 19th Hakurei Shrine Reitaisai, Reimu’s Great Exorcism, and A Curious Festival.

Character Skill Level Up Recommendations

Supernatural Border is the one to kick it off, with 3 useful effects to enhance (Spirit Power, Yang ATK and Team Accuracy). Next up can go either way depending on if you need more Spirit Power or Freeze utility, but to get ever closer to a high Spirit Power count from Skills, Shrine Maiden Attire will be next, also coming with a little more Yang DEF and a slight decrease in its cooldown. Coming up last, but certainly not least though, is Snow Purification which adds another layer of Freeze to both A7A Reimu and on all enemies once maxed out.

Character Strengths

Powerful Shrine Maiden Spirit

A7A Reimu comes up as a well rounded option if you need to exterminate some annoyances in your way. She has a high Yang ATK of 1870, solid amounts of Spirit Power to work with, buffs in Yang ATK and a bit of CRIT ATK, great Killer range and a 25% boost in power if her elements (mainly Wood) are effective against the enemy. On top of that, she can provide a little support along the way, such as Accuracy, Yang DEF, Spirit Power, Yang ATK and a Barrier.

Fantasy F-F-Freeze?

Despite the weather conditions not in A7A Reimu’s favor, she is very good when it comes to Freeze anomaly utility, such as if it’s inflicting herself with them, and by extension buffing her defensive stats via Ability. However, she can also inflict them upon enemies from Skill 2 or Spell Card 1, she can easily break them when using her Spread Shot, Spell Card 1 and Last Word. On top of that, she can even manage to remove Binds/Stat debuffs after using her Spell Card 1!

Might Need Help With CRIT ATK

Due to how well-rounded A7A Reimu is in terms of her kit, there aren't a whole lot of downsides. However, she doesn’t have a whole lot of CRIT ATK to work with (barring her Last Word), and while she does have a little CRIT DEF debuffing to work with on her Spell Card 2, she will need Story Cards and external support to bring out the absolute best in her potential.
