Character Analysis
Yuyuko Saigyouji (Scarlet), was released on September 28st 2023 in Prayer “Spooky Scarlet Spirit Festival”. For more information, be sure to visit the Official Discord Server.
Into the misty night with a spirit lantern as her guiding light and wearing pale pink, Yuyuko Saigyouji, who is a ghost capable of manipulating death is rather curious about why this scarlet mist incident has gotten out of control the way it has. In addition, it could also be slowing things down when it comes to making sure the Saigyouji Ayakashi tree is in full bloom, the crimson sky is truly a thorn in its side. Will Yuyuko be able to end the incident, even if it’s potentially going to lead to a familiar spring snow incident succeeding it? If only Yuyuko could manipulate fate like a certain final boss preceding her…
A6 Yuyuko Saigyouji is a Heal-Class Friend with Bind removal, Barrier Restoration, a little bit of team support, solid offensive power and can inflict and break Poison on enemies.
As a Healer
- Recovers the team’s HP via Skill 3 and Spell Card 2.
- A few Absorb bullets are scattered around in her kit, meaning that there are more ways for her to heal up HP.
- Barrier Anomalies can be healed up on all allies via Last Word Post-ATK.
- Skill 3 removes a Bind/Stat debuff for the team, while Spell Card 1 and Last Word Post-ATKs are selfish in terms of Bind/Stat Debuff removal.
- Can really help with Barrier restoration for the team, mainly with Skill 3’s 3 Barriers and Spell Card 2 Post-ATK’s 2 Barriers.
- Thanks to her Ability, she can heal up her HP by 5% when hit with Freeze or Poison anomalies. Both Shots inflict herself with Freeze via bullet lines.
As an Attacker/Supporter
- Skill 1 is the main Spirit Power Skill, as 1.00 is given to herself and 0.85 is given to her party.
- Yang ATK gained for herself via Skill 2 and Last Word Pre-ATK, as well as it being given to the party when Grazing.
- Accuracy is given to the team with Spell Card 1’s Pre-ATK, while Skill 2 gives herself some more.
- The team gets Yang DEF buffs when Boosting, and some bullet lines in A6 Yuyuko’s Spell Cards will also maintain them for herself, while also contributing to the Hard Scaling she has.
- Slight CRIT DEF and Yang DEF debuffs on Spell Cards and Last Word bullet lines.
- Killers include Scarlet Devil Mansion, Youkai, Devil, Maid, Magician, Vampire and Undead.
As a Barrier Breaker/Utility
- Has a good chunk of Wood and Earth elemental breaks on her Spell Cards and Last Word. Her Shots have a bit of Wood and Water.
- Is able to inflict and break Poison anomalies. Skill 1 inflicts 2 layers of it to all targets, and more layers on a selected enemy are inflicted via both Spell Card Pre-ATKs, broken at 2P and 3P respectively, as well as on her Last Word, also at 3P.
- Also has some slight Burn and Freeze breaking potential in her Last Word at 3P.
- Passive 1 allows her to take 40% less damage from Scarlet Devil Mansion enemies.
Story Card Recommendations

Spell Card
A6 Yuyuko is desperate for those CRIT ATK buffs, so those will be taking priority here, and if Skill 1’s Spirit Power isn’t enough, having more cards to help with that is never a bad idea as well. If you want, you could double down on A6 Yuyuko’s role as a healer, mainly with Barrier restoration if you want, but after CRIT ATK and Spirit Power, the next options could also be to stack up Yang ATK, or to just focus on Spell Card damage via mainly Light, although you could look for Body options or Wood and Earth ones.

Last Word
Considering how great the Kaguya’s Moonlit Festival Story Card is, A6 Yuyuko picked a great time to be released given how well that card fits her due to the 45% Boost in both Wood and Light, making half of the Last Word get a 90% boost in power.
However, you might be interested in other options, and Silver Gale might be helpful for its favorable stat sticks while also having a 45% boost in Light, but strengthening the team’s Yang DEF may make that Hard Scaling a little more impactful. Puppeteer and Necromancer is a classic option, mainly for its 50% Light boost, and Congress of Sages is a bit similar, but comes in with a 40% boost in it and a handy Yang ATK stat. As for the final option, it’s only going to cover half of the lines due to being Earth but it may find some use, which is Idola-Deus. From great Yang stat sticks, to also having that decent Earth boost as well as the tiny Yang ATK buff snuck in may make it useful in a little more specific scenarios.
Character Skill Level Up Recommendations
Spirit Power’s importance cannot be underestimated, and with Skill 1, Incident Sabotage being huge for Spirit Power, that will be going first, plus it comes with additional Poison anomaly inflictions on her enemies. Next up will be the one in the middle, Village Sweets, mainly for that extra Accuracy and Yang ATK. Last up is Spirit Lantern, which is important in its own right for the cooldown duration going from 9 Turns to 8, as well as providing additional Barriers.
Character Strengths
Unbound Barriers of Life
Being a Healer, A6 Yuyuko has some tricks to help keep the team healthy, like with HP, Barriers and Bind/Stat Debuff removal all on Skill 3. Usually, we see a Skill give a team 2 Barriers, but this one takes it that step further with it being 3 Barriers instead of 2, and if you need more, there is Spell Card 2 Post-ATK to fall back on, albeit it’s 2 Barriers this time, but it will still help in its own way.
Deadly Damage Potential
Like a lot of the A6 Friends who we don’t jump to think of when it comes to the Scarlet Mist incident like Alice, Yuuka and Yukari, A6 Yuyuko shares the same Killers as them, being Youkai, Scarlet Devil Mansion, Maid, Magician, Devil, Vampire and Undead. Mainly carried by Youkai, these can do some good against a good amount of enemies, especially with enough setup. A6 Yuyuko is also rather self-sufficient with Accuracy, Yang ATK and possibly Yang DEF in some cases.
Night Sakura of Poison Anomalies
A6 Yuyuko is also able to do her part to help out by inflicting and breaking Poison anomalies on her enemies. Right off the jump, she can inflict a specific enemy with 5 Poison anomalies and break them with her Solo Spell Card 1 at 2P (2 layers on all enemies on Skill 1, 3 layers on Spell Card 1 Pre-ATK). An alternative would be to use her Spell Card 2 if 3P is reachable, as it will be able to break 2-4 Poison anomalies on all enemies, depending on who is targeted individually for Poison anomalies. As an additional bonus, her Last Word is capable of breaking Burn, Poison and Freeze anomalies all at 3P.
Character Weaknesses
CRIT ATK was Nether Found
The one thing stopping A6 Yuyuko from thriving in self-sufficiency is her lack of CRIT ATK, which would be so useful to her given her solid Killer range. That said, that is the only thing she is really missing out on if she is looking out for herself, otherwise, her supportive capabilities are fine at best, with Spirit Power on Skill 1 being rather helpful and may struggle with stacking up the team’s Yang ATK and Yang DEF from Grazing and Boosting, but CRIT ATK is ultimately the main issue here.
Skill 3 Takes a While to Blossom
As useful as Skill 3 is, an 8 Turn cooldown is just not something we can just ignore since in most scenarios, we can probably only see this Skill being used once. You aren’t going to want to use it straight away to really make use of those 3 Barriers given to the team, and it is also the only source of Party Bind/Stat Debuff Removal, so it really is a case of “use it wisely” because 8 turns is a long time. It’s like waiting for the Saigyouji Ayakashi to be in full bloom…
