- Wolf is essentially a straight upgrade to Bernadetta, as his Keen Coyote Bow is just the Persecution Bow but with no strings attached. Wolf also boasts an excellent offensive statline, making him a premier choice as a Player Phase bow cavalier.
- Atk/Spd Boosting A slots such as Atk/Spd Catch and Atk/Spd Solo are Wolf’s best A slot option, and similarly sacred seals such as Blade Session and Atk/Spd Solo are Wolf’s best seal options since they allow him to stack as much Attack and Speed as possible.
- A Trace skill lets Wolf leverage his high movement by granting him Canto, letting him use his remaining movement to move out of enemy range. Unfortunately, ranged canto is more difficult to take advantage of than it’s melee counterpart as ranged units are more likely to use all their movement getting into range to attack, but even with this flaw Far Trace is still a great option. Lull Spd/Def is a decent alternative, essentially exchanging Trace’s movement for buff negation which can be useful in some situations.
- Wolf’s C slot doesn’t change how he functions to a significant degree, so it can be freely swapped as needed.
Strengths
Great Attack and Speed
Wolf’s base 39 Attack and 43 Speed give him incredible damage output right off the bat, especially when stacked even further with skills.
Keen Coyote Bow
Wolf’s Keen Coyote Bow gives him free Desperation and a +6 boost to Attack and Speed when he initiates as long as his HP is above 25%(Read: Basically not a condition at all), giving him even more stats to work with while allowing him to circumvent his low Defenses on Player Phase as long as he can KO his foe in 2 hits.
Weaknesses
Lacking Bulk
With only an average 28 base Defense and a lackluster 20 base Resistance, Wolf is very prone to being KO’d in only a few hits(Or a single strong one depending on the opponent). Because of this, Wolf should try to avoid taking counterattacks as much as possible on Player Phase, and avoid Enemy Phase combat unless absolutely necessary(or you’re running an Enemy Phase meme build on him. Hey, we don’t judge).
