This skill is vital to many successful offensive unit builds. The boost in Attack and Speed gives units a significant boost in offensive power, at the cost of lowered defenses. The lowered defenses might seem significant, but the boost in speed drastically changes that unit’s speed tier, often saving them from a few KO’s they would otherwise suffer. This skill requires little finesse, providing a straightforward boost in power.
Life and Death synergises with many skills. Of these, the most important is Desperation. This skill combination can allow a fast unit to double attack without taking a hit on their low defenses. Brave Weapons are perhaps the best combo with Life and Death, granting an extra 10 damage right away and mitigating the speed loss otherwise incurred. Vantage is very powerful combined with Life and Death, making a user of the combo tricky to KO.
Having lowered defense and resistance makes users of this skill easier to KO, and therefore the best way to beat them is to attack from melee if they are ranged, or vice versa. Lowered defenses can be exploited by Dire Thunder or Brave weapons. Having a high attack unit with Wary Fighter is an alternative that wastes Life and Death’s speed bonus. Users of this skill are prone to being worn down through counterattacks, making them weak to Vantage.
