Waving beach umbrellas around is dangerous, so do not try to imitate this attack. The Sage of Eternal Summer has undergone special training.

For some reason, the Yukari of this world carries around a beach umbrella instead of a parasol. Beach umbrellas are meant to be placed upright in the sand, not carried around.

When you look at the horizon, there is nothing between the sea and the sky. But you could also say that everything under the sun exists between the sea and the sky. Who wouldn't want to visit a country beyond the sea one day?

How much of a calm sea is calm with ripples, and how much is choppy with waves? Or is the sea calm and choppy simultaneously...? This is confusing.

It seems that all the major events of our world's history have also occurred in this world in almost exactly the same way, even though the environment is completely different. How is that possible...?

Character Analysis
C3 Yukari Yakumo was released on August 5th, 2022 in Epic Prayer: Boundary of Sand and Sea.
Yukari performs phenomenally at farming. With her Last Word, Profound Bullet Barrier - Water, Currents, Foam, and Bubbles, she can deal a great amount of damage while providing utility to help farm more challenging stages. Combined with her buffs from her ability and skills, Yukari can farm nearly every relevant story card stage to date.
Yukari contributes greatly in challenging content through her utility, healing, and incredibly damage output. Her most notable utility comes through her skills, with her 2nd skill, Gap Hammock, she provides the team with 3 levels of CRIT ATK and Yang ATK for 4 turns, while providing herself with 1.25 P. Combined with her 1st skill, Triple Service, she can cleanse any debuff or bind inflicted on the party, heal them for a substantial amount, alongside providing 0.75 P, which allows her to reach 3P on her first turn. Her 3rd skill, Blue Hawaii, gives utility by utility not only removing another debuff or bind from the party, but also healing 2 barrier anomalies and providing 2 barriers. While the barrier anomaly heals may be useful for a fair majority of characters, be aware that this may come at a detriment to friends that benefit from self-inflicted anomalies. Thanks to her ability, Capable of manipulating boundaries (Beach), Yukari provides the team yang atk on boost and crit atk on graze, further increasing team damage output.
Yukari’s spell cards are as complex as she is. For example, her 1st Spell Card, Border Sign: Boundary of Sea and Sky, provides the party with 2 levels of Yang ATK and 3 levels of Yang DEF for 3 turns. This spell card also heals 3 barrier anomalies. This spell card also provides a total of 2 levels of Accuracy for 2 turns, 3 levels of CRIT ATK, and inflicts 3 layers of Freeze for 3 turns. Her 2nd Spell Card, Border Sign: Boundary of Waves and Ripples, gives her 3 levels of Yang DEF and Accuracy for 4 turns (to a maximum of 6 Yang DEF from bullet line 100% effects at 3 boosts) while also restoring barriers for the party. Finally, her Last Word gives the team 2 levels of Yang ATK for 4 turns while also inflicting the enemy with 2 levels of Yang DEF down for 4 turns, fully healing the team, removing a debuff or bind, and reducing water damage taken by 50%.
For barrier breaking, Yukari has an emphasis on Sun and Water breaks with a bias towards Water. With a P0 Water and Sun break on her focus and spread shots respectively, Yukari has a 3/3 spread of Water and Sun on both her spell cards. She can also break freeze anomalies with her spread shot, 2nd Spell Card, and Last Word, as these all have thawing in their bullet lines. Alternatively, you can also use a mix of her focus shot and a 1 boost spread shot to infinitely break barriers from one enemy. Finally, her Last Word breaks 6 barriers weak to Water elemental attacks.
While she dons a swimsuit to relax, make no mistake. Yukari holds up with the best of the bunch. With a great mix of utility, damage, and barrier breaks, sit back and relax with Yukari (while she pretends to be younger than she is).
Story Card Recommendations
(Card recommendations last updated on June 28, 2023)
Spell Card
For both of her spell cards, Yukari uses P cards like The Witch of Scarlet Dreams well for barrier breaks in addition to her in-line effects. On her 1st Spell Card, Yukari can make use of Laser bullet cards like Occult Circle or Ordinary Magician. Her 2nd Spell Card, on the other hand, can make use of liquid bullet boosts like Frozen-Over Gensokyo or Tropico Fantasia! Finally, to help augment her Last Word’s damage, opt for Yang ATK or Yang DEF filler, preferring ones with both.
Last Word
Nothing beats Tropico Fantasia! for Yukari in terms of setup damage. However, Resort Stars comes close in terms of setup and is slightly better for turn 1 damage. For alternatives, cards like My Favorites, which provide a good amount of Water bullet boost, and Frozen-Over Gensokyo, which provide a good amount of Liquid bullet boost, are all good options.
Character Skill Level Up Recommendations
Her 2nd skill, Gap Hammock, should ideally be leveled first as this provides her with the most offensive power for both herself and the party. Her 1st skill, Triple Service, should also be a priority to level, as this skill allows her to reach 3P on the first turn while giving her a sizable heal and debuff/bind dispel. Finally, her 3rd skill, Blue Hawaii, should be leveled last as this skill is a good deal of utility by itself. The order that you choose to level Yukari’s skills are fairly flexible due to their utility, so they can be leveled at any order depending on what you want from her.
Character Strengths
Abundance in Breaks
With only 2 Non-Elemental bullet lines on C3 Yukari’s Spread Shot, every other line either consists of Water and Sun. With 2 of each on her Spread Shot, and 3 of each on her Focus Shot, and both Spell Cards as well as 6/6 lines of Water in her Last Word, you’ll be more than content with her immense Sun and Water breaking potential! On top of that, she also has some handy Freeze anomaly utility, being able to instantly inflict and break an enemy’s Freeze anomalies via Second Spell Card. While she doesn’t do a lot of this across all enemies at once, this is always a handy flavor to add to C3 Yukari’s powers.
Massive Damage Output
Simply put, C3 Yukari’s damage is incredible and cannot be underestimated. With Yang ATK and CRIT ATK buffs that can be easily maxed out as well as Yang DEF debuffs on all enemies all over her Last Word, not only will the Serene Summer Sage’s damage be consistent but will also be backed up greatly with massive Hard Scaling, contributing to a truly impactful Last Word! She can also gain +0.75 and +1.25 Spirit Power from her first and second skills respectively, meaning instant access to a fully powered Last Word. It’s also worth mentioning her Killer range being fantastic, with common ones like Youkai, God and Human which she can really take advantage of with her CRIT ATK buffs. Our carefree sage in question will not disappoint you!
Very Valuable Offensive Utility
The Yang ATK and CRIT ATK buffs mentioned earlier also extend to her teammates, also being maxed out for them as well as a fruitful 4 Turn Duration via Skill 3. We also have the ever so valuable team-wide Spirit Power UP being accessed in her first skill, adding +0.75 to everyone’s Spirit Power count. All in all, C3 Yukari is a fantastic option for Spirit Power and Yang-based buffs.
Boundary of Healthy and Unhealthy
As a Heal Class Friend, C3 Yukari excels at this very purpose! Starting with teamwide HP recovery, she can recover 80% of it via Skill 1 and her Last Word’s Post-ATK including a 100% HP recovery. Don’t forget that since C3 Yukari has the highest HP in the game at 9000, being able to also heal your teammates by that much HP isn’t to be overlooked! As for Barrier support, C3 Yukari’s Skill 3 and Second Spell Card grant the team Barriers. Finally, being able to cleanse multiple Binds/Stat Debuffs for the team is a very much loved trait, executed by her Skills 1 and 3, as well as a Last Word Post-ATK effect!
