Clear Steps
This map is the hardest normal map, but still easily manageable. We finally get to fight Fail, who isn’t to much of a threat if you are prepared.

Turn 4
4.1
Resupply and emergency repair your Combat Echelon as needed, then path to Fail on the enemy HQ.
BOSS: Fail
HP | Damage | Accuracy | RoF | Evasion | Armor |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
38,000 | 26 | 46 | 45 | 7 | 0 |
Regular Fail is a fairly non-threatening Boss, she has a few adds during the fight, a single ‘special attack’. In reality this gives you the potential for some buffs, in the form of 2 lights on your side of the field. The Red light gives a 43% Damage Buff, and the Yellow light provides a 150% Evasion Buff. Move your tank onto the yellow light and your closest DPS onto the red light.
Fail’s adds approach at regular intervals during the fight, instead of all at once. The means you may want a way to hit the back row to clear them out, otherwise the Strikers will deal significant extra damage to your Tank.
Grenadiers are not recommended for this purpose, as the AoE is too small to hit the back adds. RFB or Stella can automatically dispatch the back row, although the adds are weak and will usually die from the basic attacks of your SMGs.
While Fail can be defeated with a Level 30 3x Echelon, the fight will be very difficult. Therefore, it is recommended to train your units until you have a Level 70+ x4 Linked Combat Echelon for an easier time with this boss. The New Career Quest Rewards can help any commander reach that level easily just by clearing Chapter 5 of the main GFL story.
Writers Note: Due to the red stage background, the lights Fail creates can be a bit more difficult to see than was perhaps intended, particularly for anyone with poor color vision.
I personally could not tell the difference between the Red and Yellow lights. As a general rule, the forward column light will be the EVA-boosting one, while any light in the back two columns will be the DMG-boosting one.

This extra Fail is tucked away in a pocket along the way to the enemy Command Post. Players interested in the minigame can again face her with an echelon containing Clear as described in the E1-2 page.
