Clear Guide:

    • Can be fewer if you wish to risk the wrath of the RNG
  • 2 Dummy Echelons

Clear Steps

The final matter of SC offers some unique challenges. First, make note of the nodes marked with a Green Skull and the vague gas effect. That area will expand every turn, and any Echelon standing in it will take Damage. This includes Hostages and AI M4. This can be a problem. Second, much like the previous map, we have a friendly Gustav. If you have been following these guides chapter to chapter you probably noticed I didn't mention it there, and that's because it sucks.

The Friendly M4 is a bit of an idiot unfortunately and will sometimes move in slightly different ways than you expect. She's fairly powerful in combat, but the fights are tuned in such a way that she'll have a bad time if only a few things go wrong. Like her standing in the damaging tiles.

While I am reasonably confident this guide will work around the myriad failure stats on this map, it is quite possible that either I missed one, or that a new one will arise. If you find a bug or a route that doesn't have a 5% chance of implosion, let me know.

Turn 1

1.1

Deploy a Combat Echelon on both the Command Post and the Heavy Heliport. The Command Post Echelon should be capable of fighting Hydras.

1.2

Move the Combat Echelon on the Heavy Heliport up one node, and deploy a Combat Echelon behind them.

1.3

Move the Combat Echelon on the Command Post down one node, and SWAP with UMP 45.

1.4

Move the Upper Combat Echelon to the right one node. End your Turn.

Turn 2

2.1

Deploy a Dummy Echelon on the Command Post. You will need to SWAP the Combat team with 45 for vision, but make sure to return them to their original location.

2.2

Move the farthest right Combat Echelon to the right two more nodes, and SWAP with Kord.

2.3

Move the Combat Echelon to the left two nodes, picking up Kord on the way.

Turn 3

3.1

Move the lower Combat Echelon up one node to pick up UMP 45.

3.2

Move the Echelon to the right left two nodes, and SWAP onto the Heavy Heliport. Complete the hostage rescue at this time.

3.3

Move the Echelon on the Heavy Heliport to the right one node, and down one node, onto the Radar.

3.4

If M4 has moved as she has in the screenshot above, that is to say she moved up on turn 2, you will likely want to move the team currently on the Radar down one more node, over one, and swap with M4 to get her to safety. Otherwise, she's going to die. And for anyone wondering how I know, pay close attention to where the Ally M4 is on this turn, and where she is next turn. I'm not saying she died and I had to reset... I'm just saying you should learn from my mistakes.

Move the upper Combat Echelon down one node.

3.5

Deploy a second Dummy Echelon on the Heavy Heliport.

Turn 4

4.1

We shall assume M4 played nice. Move the Echelon on the Radar down one node.

4.2

Move the Dummy Echelon on the Command post to the right two nodes.

4.3

Swap the Echelon carrying 45 onto the Command Post and manually complete the rescue. Move them one node to the right.

4.4

Move the upper Combat Echelon down one node.

4.6

Move the far left Dummy Echelon up onto the Command Post. Perform the swap Conga to move M4 onto the Command Post and set her AI to Standby. the map should complete at this time.
