Cleave Counter

Building Politis is simple, run her has fast as possible to make sure she can beat any unit trying to gap her, and as much effectiveness as you can as a secondary stat. Players should try to get immunity set as a secondary to speed since Politis will get outsped normally and immunity can protect her to a lot of high speed shenanigans. Any remaining stat can be dumped into bulk.

Artifacts

What Artifact Politis can run will generally be up to player's play style since her kit is very well rounded for what it's designed to do.

Iela Violin - helps her dispel more buffs and improves match up against heroes such as Diene in non-cleave match ups.

Abyssal Crown - mitigates her lack of hard CC to hold down cleansers as her extra attack gives her more chances to RNG her way to a win.

Tagehel's - can be carried on any mage just for the soul burn potential since a lot of heroes thrive off their soul burn.

Analysis

Overview

Politis is a 5* Fire mage released during the “control mage renaissance” with the specific intention to stop setup buffers in Arena Defense and RTA. Politis brings a unique passive of reducing enemy combat readiness gain by 50%, on top of being able to activate an extra attack that reduces enemy buff duration by 1 turn while increasing her own combat readiness by 30%. This effectively makes her an extremely potent threat to any cleave team that hinges on a non attacking buffer such as a Auxiliary Lots or Rose, who have been a large part of the cleave landscape.

Strengths

Passively Stops CR Gain

As Politis passively stops combat readiness gain, she has a side effect of countering certain other units that rely heavily on CR such as Arbiter Vildred and Faithless Lidica, making her a threat against those teams in a pinch in scenarios where teams are constantly changing such as RTA.

Soft Buff Strip

While not as potent as a full enemy team buff dispel, Politis has a passive extra attack that can reduce enemy team buff duration by 1, making her very effective against any slow heroes that needs to be buffed or relies on their immunity.

Extra Turn Soul Burn

Usually extra turn soul burn for control mages for low impact S1 are looked down upon, but since Her passive Astral Guide has a cooldown of 2 turns, it would be reset immediately. Against buff heavy comps that is not 

Weaknesses

No Hard CC

Politis herself has no hard control (S1 only activation chance is only 40% at max), which means after her combo she has no means to stop any debuff cleansers from full cleansing her team. 

Loses Potency Vs Non-buffers

Since her passive, the most valuable part of her kit requires enemy to cast non-attacking skills, she will not activate the extra attack component of her kit if enemies draft around buffers.
