After being taken into a cult at a young age and enduring a childhood of suffering, Faithless Lidica finally managed to escape and is now on the run. Naturally, this experience has given her a skepticism towards religion and hatred of fanatics.

Builds

PvP Initiator/ Debuffer

Gear

As previously mentioned, initiators should be built with as much Spd as possible, followed by Effectiveness. Faithless Lidica definitely lives and dies by her Spd stat -- any other stats can take a backseat for her. Maximize Spd, give her a Speed gear set, and she's off to the races (literally).

Faithless Lidica actually doesn't have to worry about Effectiveness as much as some initiators, since she can Soulburn her S3 to maximize its chance of hitting. However, if you're using her on Defense or if you can't run her alongside a Mage with Tagehel's Ancient Book, you'll definitely still need it on her.

Her other substats and her secondary gear set can be left up to the player's discretion. Damage stats will obviously help her hit harder, while defensive stats might help her soak some extra hits that might otherwise go to the rest of the team. Effect Resistance substats or an Immunity gear subset might be good if you're worried about your Faithless Lidica being outsped, too.

If your Faithless Lidica doesn't need an Immunity or Hit subset, an interesting third choice is the Unity gear set. Being able to pull other allies into her S1 gives Faithless Lidica a bit more utility when her stronger skills are on cooldown.

Artifacts

Since Faithless Lidica is a debuffer, she is best with a supportive Artifact (i.e., Song of Stars or Infinity Basket) that can increase the overall damage output for the rest of the team. This increases her value on her off-turns since she now has a chance to apply 2 debuffs per S1.

Failing that, the passive aura Artifacts such as Rainbow Scales, Midnight Bloom, or Spooky Solayu Stories can be helpful, depending on what the team needs.

Team

Core

This team comp takes advantage of the following:

  • Basar's strong initiation utilities and ability to carry Tagehel's Ancient Book. In this comp, Basar doesn't need to max Spd because of Faithless Lidica's CR push, so he can build high Effectiveness instead.
  • Faithless Lidica's high base Spd, CR push, and ability to cripple survivors.
  • Tywin's Soulburn for extra turn and offensive utilities.
  • Blood Blade Karin's ability to cleave without a Soulburn.

On Offense, the turn order would be:

  1. Lidica S2 (she won't immediately go again because her teammates would have CR overflow)
  2. Basar S3
  3. Tywin Soulburn S3
  4. Tywin S2 on Blood Blade Karin
  5. Blood Blade Karin S3
  6. Lidica S3 on key survivors (revivers are top priority)

Analysis

Overview

Faithless Lidica is a 5★ Light-element Ranger released with the 2019 December Mystic summons rotation. She is the first hero released with the ability to fully increase a hero's cooldowns with her S3, Hysteria (which can be Soulburned to bypass resistance, no less). This along with her S2, Larkspur, forms a powerful combo -- pushing up the Combat Readiness not only of Faithless Lidica's team, but also herself so that she can instantly S3 a key enemy and prevent them from using their skills.

Strengths

Increase Skill Cooldown to the Max

Faithless Lidica is the first hero to have the ability to max out enemy cooldowns, rather than increasing them one turn at a time as Adlay or Judge Kise do. This is an extremely powerful ability, especially for countering powerful PvP heroes such as Maid Chloe, Ruele of Light, or Crimson Armin. If built fast enough, Faithless Lidica can permanently prevent slower enemies from using skills in a longer fight.

Team CR Push + Self CR Boost

Faithless Lidica is a great initiator in PvP battles not just because of her S3, but also thanks to her S2. Against 4 targets in Arena, her S2 gives her team 20% CR and 100% for herself, immediately granting an extra turn. (In Guild Wars, it's 15% for her team and 75% for herself, which is still very good.) This boost can help her team move before the enemy and secure the advantage in the fight.

Improved A.I.

Faithless Lidica is one of few heroes who has an improved A.I. when set to auto-battle. She will start a battle with her S2, then use her S3, which makes her a viable PvP defense initiator.

Weaknesses

Long Cooldowns

As a natural "initiator" hero with a lot of powerful utility in her active skills, Faithless Lidica does very little after her opening salvo until her skills come off cooldown. Even with cooldown reduction, it is unlikely that she'll get to use her S2 and S3 more than once in most PvP battles -- that opening utility is the entirety of her value as a character.

Initiator Stat Drought

Initiators should be built with as much Spd as possible, followed by Effectiveness. For most players that means they have to sacrifice DPS and HP to have as much Spd substats as possible, making her less useful outside of her initiation. Unless you have perfect gear for her, Faithless Lidica may end up with very weak damage and/or very weak defenses, further reducing her usefulness.

Not A Mage

Faithless Lidica really wants to Soulburn her S3 on her first turn, since ignoring Effect Resistance is so powerful. However, as a Ranger, she can't equip the Mage-only Tagehel's Ancient Book Artifact, which is the only way to start with the Souls she needs. As such, Faithless Lidica virtually requires a Mage in the party to be effective, which limits team-building flexibility.
