Archdemon's Might

Arbiter Vildred can be a very versatile Hero as he can be built to fit your teams needs. He has access to artifacts that can greatly change the composition you put him in however his high damage and Revive mechanic make him a high threat target regardless.

Due to the recent advancements in the meta, we are seeing many Arbiter Vildred on both sides of the fight, for both guild war and arena. To that end, popular builds have changed drastically for Arbiter Vildreds, to kill other Arbiter Vildreds. The biggest change in this interaction is that the one that goes first will generally win against the other one that doesn't. Most builds now will feature a more even stat spread, including a healthy amount of speed, as he is not only used as a revive/clean up DPS, but also a sustained damage dealer, following initiators such as Basar, or Lilias.

Stats

The stats to be working towards an end game level Arbiter Vildred would be as follows, do note that this is the endgame stat benchmark. Many players will not have this and will be actively working towards it while other end game players might have surpassed it and beyond.

Atk: 4k+
HP: 10k ~ 15k
Spd: 170+
Crit Chance: 100%~
Crit Damage: 250%+
Eff%: >0%

Obviously, the priority here is to get crit chance as close to 100% as possible. After that, we want to maximize his combat efficiency by boosting each one of his offensive stats as high as we can while maintaining a good balance. A good balance of Crit Damage and Attack will let us output the best DPS possible per turn taken, while a high speed value means you can outspeed, which in turn should let players out duel enemy Arbiter Vildreds. As for the effectivness, while Arbiter is the pinnacle of stacking DPS stats, a roll or two into effectiveness goes to help him secure landing his decrease hit chance debuff, which is vital in high damage matchups.

Set Bonus

For an end game build, set bonuses obviously matter for the purpose of minmaxing and squeezing the most stats out of every piece of gear but ultimately it is the final stat spread player should be looking for, not completing sets. Though the easiest way I've seen players reach these stats is through Speed Main Set, since it has access to one of few ways to acquire Lvl 88 gear at the moment while the rest of the components are all highly farmable through wyvern 11. The off set is ideally an immunity set, if players can afford that, or a crit set, which can round up the last few points Arbiter needs to complete his stat spread.

Immunity set is a great asset on him but it is not as vital on some of the slower, counterattack based heroes since a lot of Arbiter Vildred's combat strength comes from being revived with no debuffs and a fresh set of focus + cooldowns.

Artifacts

The best-in-slot artifact for Arbiter Vildred in Arena Defense is Moonlight Dreamblade. Due to the prominence of 2 turn cleaves, such as Judge Kise and Blood Blade Karin, Moonlight Dreamblade is seen as an auto-win 20% of the times against these attacks, since either cleavers finisher can miss 20% of the times, granting Arbiter an Attack Up buff, which can safely end almost all cleave teams with these characters. This is without factoring in that There is another 20% chance that Arbiter could dodge the first hit of the cleave, while nowhere nearly as deadly, definitely throws a wildcard into the formulaic cleave battle plan.
Outside of Arena Defense, Moonlight Dreamblade allows Arbiter to consistently sustain an Attack Up buff since he can inflict Decrease Hit Chance debuff, which synergizes with Moonlight Dreamblade, an underrated interaction in drawn out guild war fights.
These factors aside, granting Arbiter dodge chance introduces a non-counterplayable RNG element into a fight, which can come in clutch in losing fights that players generally don't expect to be able to win.

Another popular pick up is Alexa's Basket, which is more commonly seen in Guild War defenses, where offensive cleave is much rarer. Alexa's 40% chance to generate a Greater Attack Up and a Crit Chance Up buff goes to extend is already frightening damage, sharpening his ability to counter kill the entire enemy team upon his revival. This build is more commonly run in guild war defenses with tanks because it is much harder to pull off a perfectly executed cleave (especially a 2 turn cleave) in guild war due to the lack of 1 extra member, which is usually key in carrying extra copies of Tagehel's Ancient Book.
Alexa's also allow players to be a bit more lenient on builds so players suffering with low crit chance gear can have a buff that mitigates their lack of stats on a somewhat consistent basis.

Team

Core

The Legend Special

As of Season 3 & 4 of arena, most defenses in Legend+ is composed of a carbon of copy or some variation of this team. While not the most cohesive composition, teams like these count on the initiating strength of a Basar, followed up by literally all the best heroes in their roles each with different utilities. Regardless of ranking, players should take this team model as a basic blueprint for building a defense: An initator, A tank/bruiser with defense utilities, a fast turn-cutting DPS, & a strong utility based DPs.

Secondary

Offense Clean-up

On offense, Arbiter best plays the role of a clean up sweeper. For example, in this cleave team without a defense break, it's not out of the ordinary if a tank or in most cases, a Ruele of Light or Maid Chloe survives the damage and revives their fallen allies. This is where Arbiter Vildred comes in, since Dark Blade  does not incur cooldown when it kills a target, Arbiter excels at cleaning up a team revived by Maid Chloe and does okay against most match ups that is revived by Ruele of Light.

Dog Walking

Arbiter Vildred is one of the best fodder farmers in the game, with a full reset on S3 after getting a kill. He can also deal with low HP just fine, as he can simply revive to finish the job. You may opt for a good lifesteal set instead of a Speed set if you are worried that he cannot clear the stages on his own.

Analysis

Overview

As the subject of a recent overhaul, Arbiter Vildred got a 30% damage bonus on all his abilities, and gained/lost an ATK up buff on revive.

Arbiter Vildred is a cleave-based Hero with high base SPD, a full blind-inflicting AoE, a free revive that clears debuffs tied to a damage-boosted AoE, and the ability to constantly have his S3 up as long as he kills at least one target. In addition, he has a small CR knockback on his S1 as well, on the primary target as well as a random target. This makes him ideally suitable for arena/GW cleave strategies, as, barring the very rare Lilibeth counter, he is incredibly effective at offense. He's even a good counter for himself!

Post damage buffs, Arbiter Vildred is also a great dog walker, excelling at soloing and farming fodder.

Strengths

Reset

Arbiter Vildred's S3, Dark Blade, doesn't just do high damage. It has the added benefit of completely resetting its cooldown when it scores a kill, making it extremely easy to have up constantly.

Dark Revival

Arbiter Vildred’s S2 offers him the benefit of a free revive once per battle. This is especially useful in PvP where he can bait out important skills of enemy Heroes only to revive with a full Focus Dark Blade (S3) off of cooldown in response. It also grants a %100 CR boost after he dies making him a very high threat Hero.

High Base ATK/SPD

Sharing the same base stats as normal Vildred, he is tied with his more optimistic self for 8th highest ATK and 16th highest Spd. The most-used CR pushers are only 1 point of speed higher, at 117.

Neutral Element

As a primary cleaver, Arbiter Vildred's neutral dark element ensures that he will not miss outside of Blind.

Weaknesses

Focus

While Arbiter Vildred revives with full stacks of focus, his first Dark Blade AoE will never deal full damage. This can be worrisome in PvP, as you will then need to rely on his revival AoE to finish the enemy team.

Loss of Buffs on Revive

Arbiter Vildred loses all his buffs on revive, but CAN gain new ones tied to an artifact, etc., if they trigger on his turn (namely Alexa's Basket). This will notably clear any regular buffs but ALSO any buffs gained from Violet's Talisman. This could also be seen as a strength since he also loses any debuffs that he previously had.

Extinction Effects

Arbiter Vildred is not immune to extinction effects, such as Lilibet's S3 and certain boss mechanics.
