Show Explanation/Analysis

Weapon: Spear of Assal

Support: Positional Assist

Special: Moonbow

Passive A: Swift Sparrow / Life and Death / Atk/Spd Push

Passive B: Dive-Bomb / Desperation / Chill Spd

Passive C: Joint Drive Spd / Atk Smoke

Sacred Seal: Heavy Blade / Quickened Pulse

  • With this set, Seteth focuses all of his power into amplifying his own Player Phase, while still offering some support to his allies. Dive-Bomb is the preferred B slot for all Speed-focused melee fliers, and Seteth makes great use of it with his high Attack value as well. With a Speed boon, Swift Sparrow 3, Joint Drive Speed, and Spear of Assal, Seteth hits 53 Speed, which allows him to double his opponent before they can counter.
  • Take care not to pair Atk/Spd Push with Dive-Bomb, as the HP cost will eventually knock him out of range for Dive-Bomb to work. Instead, if you prefer to use Atk/Spd Push, consider using Desperation in his B slot instead.
  • Joint Drive Skill in his C slot helps far better than his native Drive Attack, as it buffs both him and his allies, making him more powerful and flexible.
  • Both Heavy Blade and Quickened Pulse in his Seal slot help Seteth to activate Moonbow in a single combat, even if his opponent does not retaliate. This serves to amplify his damage, but can be replaced by Swift Sparrow or even Death Blow if you prefer to use a high scoring Special such as Aether instead.

Show Explanation/Analysis

Weapon: Spear of Assal

Assist: Positional Assist

Special: Noontime / Moonbow

Passive A: Distant Counter / Bracing Stance

Passive B: Guard Bearing / Quick Riposte

Passive C: Joint Drive Atk / Atk Smoke

Sacred Seal: Iote's Shield / Atk/Def Solo

  • This set is more defensive and takes advantage of Guard Bearing, another impactful flier B slot, to mitigate the damage Seteth takes in his first engagement each phase.
  • You can build a defensive Seteth in two ways: either by inheriting Distant Counter and Iote's Shield to him and utilizing him vs ranged threats and archers, or by doubling down on his melee capabilities by inheriting Bracing Stance and Atk/Def Solo. If using a Solo skill, be sure to position him 2 spaces away from an ally so that Spear of Assal still activates.
  • Although he's fast enough to avoid most doubles, he may have a hard time doubling foes with all the Speed creep, and so Quick Riposte is a cheaper option for his B slot that could grant you more damage if he would not normally double an opponent during the Enemy Phase.

Strengths

Arena Utility

Seteth is one of the new batch of heroes who scores at 175 BST when fully merged. He also has a prf weapon, making it easier for him to score higher. Finally, his weapon is great for utility in high scoring Arena modes where he has the flexibility to buff himself and/or his allies.

Well-Balanced Stats

While Seteth isn't breaking any landspeed records, his stat spread is well balanced for a demote unit and with proper investment, he can reach high Speed and high Attack while maintaining high Defense. This makes him a decent option for high investment if you plan to merge him.

Weaknesses

Male Flier Syndrome

While Seteth isn't hit nearly as hard as fliers such as Travant or Heath, he is fairly lackluster in his stat spread, prf, and skills when compared to a unit like Summer Ingrid. He's definitely on the better side of most male fliers we've come across... but that isn't saying much.

Lagging Behind the Meta

Seteth's Spear of Assal grants essentially a slightly better Lull skill and +3 Speed, while granting his allies a free Swift Sparrow 2 if he's nearby. This is... decent, but when compared with the prf weapons of recently-released five star exclusive units, it's not really anything special. In addition, the positional requirements must be met for it to activate at all, which can prove difficult on more cramped maps. If his Spear had a Slaying effect, it might be more appealing, but as it is, it's not exactly groundbreaking.
