One Shot Wonder
PvP
In PvP, Luna’s role as a damage dealer should be to one-shot important enemy threats or core heroes of the enemy team. She should be Speedy to ensure that she is able to take her turn before the enemies can take advantage of her lower survivability. Uberius’ Tooth and Exorcist’ Tonfa increase her immediate damage potential and allow her to more consistently take out enemy threats with the first move. A slower, but well defended Luna can also benefit from the stacking Attack buff from Hell Cutter.

PvE Rage DPS
PvE
Luna has one role and she excels at it. At endgame PvE with a Rage kit, her damage output is massive even without good procs on S1. Speed boots are run because having more Speed allows Luna to be more versatile as a standalone DPS. Furthermore, as a result of her lower team-wide utility, other characters should be used to compensate in terms of debuff variety, buff variety, as well as providing more survivability for Luna.

Artifact
PvE Standard DPS
PvE
Luna is run with a Speed set to compensate for her lacking Speed stat. Although an Attack set could further boost her damage, her passive Attack boost diminishes the benefits of the set. A Speed set also provides more versatility in choosing boots, as both Attack% or Speed main stat boots would work well. Other characters should be used to compensate for Luna’s lower utility in terms of debuff and buff variety, as well as providing more survivability for Luna.

Analysis
Overview
Luna is a single-target Water Warrior with devastating damage potential. The unique yet random multi-hit mechanic of her basic attack, Infinity Slash (S1), means that Luna is inherently a high risk, high reward character. Her powerful passive and built-in utility with Ragnar Spear (S3) can become powerful assets in her kit, but only if luck is on your side.
Strengths
Massive damage potential
Luna’s kit is built around massive single-target damage. Her passive gives her a large boost to her Attack and Critical Hit Chance, while S1’s multi-hit mechanic may allow the skill to hit up to a 2.1x multiplier (the same multiplier as some soul-burned skills).
Lower gear critical rate and attack gear requirements
Dragon Knight’s Will (S2) can provide up to 20-30% passive Attack or Critical Hit Chance boost. This significantly lowers some Gear requirements in order for Luna to do large amounts of damage, or to hit the cap of 100% Critical Hit Chance.
Ragnar Spear’s elemental advantage
S3 always attacks the enemy with the most powerful element, increasing Luna’s versatility in dealing with a larger variety of enemies. Elemental advantage offers many benefits, such as increased Critical Hit Chance and chance of landing debuffs such as S3’s defense decrease debuff. Furthermore, S3 has a high base multiplier as well, and the increased Critical Hit Chance allows the skill to be used effectively as a nuke.
Weaknesses
Limited team utility
With one self-focused passive skill and a single debuff, Luna offers very limited team-wide utility besides her offense-oriented damage potential. By choosing Luna, the rest of the team will have to compensate for the lack of auxiliary debuffs or buffs.
Lower survivability
Although S2 provides some Defensive bonuses to Luna when she is under 50% HP, her innate stat and role directions mean that these bonuses are largely ineffective on their own. However, building her as a tanky bruiser does work well as an alternative build in order to effectively take advantage of the Defensive bonuses of this passive effect.
Random damage potential and inconsistent DEF break
Luna’s high damage potential is often just that, a potential. Her kit largely revolves around Infinity Slash’s unique multi-hit mechanic in both good and bad ways. The amount of hits that S1 does directly influences its damage output and how long the CD of S3 is, affecting not only her total damage output but also the up-time on her defense down debuff. This means that terrible luck can lead to terrible results with Luna.
