Wyvern Hunter
PvE
Taranor Guard is an excellent utility/damage-dealer in Wyvern 11 who can apply Defense breaks and boost Combat Readiness for the team. Because the Wyvern is immune to Taranor Guard’s CR decrease from Pierce (S3), it is recommended to turn off Taranor Guard’s Skills when farming on auto so that he only uses Spear Art (S1).

Dual Attack Synergies
PvP
Taranor Guard’s inconsistency can be improved by pairing him with Heroes who forcibly trigger Dual Attacks, such as Kitty Clarissa, Tamarinne, and Ras. This allows Taranor Guard to be built purely for maximum damage, using his allies to grant him extra attacks while boosting team Combat Readiness.

Analysis
Overview
The nameless, faceless Taranor Guard is a surprisingly strong Hero with good utility and unique Dual Attack synergies. As a summonable 3★ Hero, he stands out as an easily obtainable specialist for auto Wyvern Hunts, but with some investment he can become a potent damage dealer for other PvE and PvP content as well.
Strengths
Unique Dual Attack bonuses
Taranor Guard’s passive Skill, Discipline (S2), increases his chance of Dual Attacking, which increases his own Attack while granting a significant CR boost to the entire team. Each Dual Attack has the chance to snowball into a huge offensive burst, pushing allies to attack more frequently and triggering even more Dual Attacks.
Defense break on first skill
Taranor Guard can apply Defense break debuffs on both normal Attacks and Dual Attacks with Spear Art (S1). The proc chance can be upgraded to a 75% at +4, making Taranor Guard a reliable debuffer for boss fights.
Excellent and f2p-friendly Wyvern hunter
As a 3★ Hero, Taranor Guard is relatively easy to obtain and can be a top-tier addition to any auto Wyvern Team. Even with low-level gear and a Daydream Joker Artifact, he can deal massive amounts of damage while consistently landing Defense breaks and dealing significant damage through his Dual Attack bonuses.
Can steal the enemy’s Combat Readiness
In PvP, Taranor Guard can lap slower enemies with Pierce, allowing him to steal up to 50% of an enemy Hero’s Combat Readiness for himself. The damage from Pierce is also relatively high, especially when used after Taranor Guard Dual Attacks and lands a Defense break on the enemy.
Weaknesses
Heavily reliant on RNG
The chance of triggering Dual Attacks is relatively low, even after max-enhancing Discipline and equipping Utility sets. This makes Taranor Guard an inconsistent damage dealer heavily reliant on luck.
Defense break only lasts one turn
Spear Art’s one-turn Defense break is unreliable and, depending on turn order, often ends before it can be effectively utilized. Especially in Wyvern 11, the Wyvern will outspeed slower damage, resulting Taranor Guard’s Defense break ending before your damage dealers can attack.
