Analysis

Overview

The famous new player goddess that used to have a skill ratio rumored of 3. Even after the rework, she packs a huge punch.

With the SC, Her DPS gets even better, along with a bit of utility, and even a small bit of survivability.

Strengths

DPS with permanent attack buff

Her passive is basically a 50~75% attack buff that does not run out or can be dispelled. Topped with her skills, the damage output is outstanding for a 3 star Hero.

Easy to build, Free to earn

Due to the self CR boost on S1, you can give Lorina leftover attack boots and still have a similar turn amount as your buffers. For many cases, attack boot is required to have a proper DPS, or risk having a turn without a buff. Lastly, she is a connection Hero.

Turn manipulation in 1vs1

With S3, Lorina can significantly delay the boss’s turn. With 20 souls, Lorina can do extream amounts of damage, push enemy CR back while gaining CR herself every 2 turns.

Cost-effective for new players

Being a DPS Hero that is a neutral element and easy to earn, new players can focus on one Hero instead of 3. It also helps with farming with her short animations, until the player can raise AoE Hero.

Weaknesses

Fragile

3 star stat along with awakenings going straight to attack and critical rate does not help her HP and Def. Frequent turns also means that it is harder to keep her alive through Def buff.

No debuff

Does have a huge CR push on the S3 which is the only reason to build effectiveness, and Lorina does not offer any deck compression by having things like def debuff.

Lacking synergy with the attack buff

Lorina has one built-in through passive and the two stacks additively. This means that when others get 50% Damage boost, Lorina will be seeing something like 35% boost. But the amount of damage that gets boosted is the same. If Crit Damage buffer is more common, this would be strengths instead for having a better synergy.

Requires a warm-up of 5 turns

For the full power, she needs full stacks. This makes her a PvE Hero, and PvP requires at least a use of soul burn.

Hard to coordinate turn order

Lorina has a bit of RNG on the S1 CR boost, and every now and then she does not gain CR due to using S3 instead. This makes it challenging for her to be always supplied with buffs.

Builds

Wyrm Slayer

This is the build that the developers intended with her rework and Speciality Change. Grabbing 55 effectiveness and high speed, Lorina sacrifices attack stat for a utility of CR push. This is the ultimate anti boss build.

While she sacrifices attack stat, due to the frequent turns and the missing HP ratio on her S3, Lorina's damage total builds up rapidly.

Team

Core

the team that was used to clear the original automaton tower before difficulty drop, (Technically, Schuri was used instead of Silk at the time) This team utilizes debuffs, and CR pushes to make the enemy into a sandbag. Best of all, it is an affordable team minus the Requiem roar. The key point is Def debuff, Speed debuff, and attack/blind debuff. They can be 1 turn duration since your team out laps the boss by several turns. So combinations of Aither + Roozid and such works as well.

Tengen Toppa Lorinagann

High burst nuke build, that also grabs decent bit of speed, based on how fast the buffer in the party is.

Simple, effective, easy to build, and only focus on S1 CR boost, and S3 soul burn effect. Try to keep buffs up to maximize the damage of each turn, which makes up for the low speed. Using soul burn on S3 leads to a follow up of S1, meaning that Lorina gets a CR boost always and she can use S3 more often for even more damage. (Soul burn is not mandatory since the follow-up attack would have 0 stacks of Hell Cutter.)

Also, using S1 even when S3 is available is ok. Good to save S3 until soul burn is available or for debuff/buffs to happen.

The little known fact is that this build caused Lorina rework to happen, as well as the specialty chance.
