Builds

Cleave Support

The idea behind a cleave support build is simple but the tuning is hard. Reach 95% of your initiator's speed and pump as much into effectiveness % as possible. HP and DEF and take any dump stats after that.

Sets

Speed set would be a default since being fast is a prerequisite part of the build. Hit set makes for a great secondary as a turn 1 team doesn't need immunity or the likes.

For alternative builds, immunity or any tanky set could be a good consideration.

Artifacts

Unseen Observer - should generally be a good default. Even though the CR is nice, we mainly want it for the 10 souls it can bring for our cleaver.

Guiding Light - will give Flan good safety for alternative builds as it's first turn and over time safety it provides can go a long way in a non-cleave team.

Cursed Compass - is another solid option for cleave support as it gives players lacking in eff% a window of opportunity against soul weavers that are usually stacking in eff resistance.

Skill Ups

As Flan in this type of setup is mostly used because of her S3 one time, everything can be largely ignored. For safety, players can look to invest 1 point into the S3. Players who actually need her S2 can look to tune the upgrade to whatever they need. S1 can just be upgraded for the dispel if players have excess resource or play her with alternative builds.

Team

Core

A super straight forward cleave team that utilitzes Basar to dispel and push back enemy team so Flan can AoE def break. Aux Lots is used as the CR booster for the DPS. Judge Kise isn't necessary and can be filled by any Cleaver with a good match up against the defense (Judge is strong against Arbiter).

Analysis

Overview

Flan is a 5* Ice Ranger intended to be an offensive support similar to how a Tywin would function with few differences with the biggest being that she cannot soul burn for an extra turn thus requiring much more resources team building wise to pull off. However, in exchange she makes up with reliability and lower self investment.

Strengths

Non Attacking Defense Break

The biggest strength of a non attacking defense break is that it cannot miss (could still be resisted). Falconer Kluri is also strong for this same reason that her dispel and debuffs cannot miss due to elemental disadvantage. This reliability matters a lot for cleave as the goal of a cleave is to secure as high of a win rate as possible as fast as possible.

Perfect Awakenings

Flan could not ask for better awakenings. Between the extra effectiveness for her debuffs and dispels and the speed, it helps out with her gearing and speed tuning a lot.

Generate Souls through Artifact

Since she can carry Unseen Observer, she has the ability to generate 10 souls. Having plenty of souls in a cleave is invaluable as it not only give a lot of team options, but also gives 10 soul cleavers such as BBK, ML Iseria, Vildred, and Arbiter Vildred a much needed damage boost.

Weaknesses

Cannot Soulburn for Extra Turn

Her biggest differences and weakness from Tywin is that she does not have the option to soul burn herself for an extra turn. This means that her DPS will need to be speed tuned to follow up or another CR booster has to be speed tuned to follow Flan.

Needs a Dispeller

This is a limitation shared by Flan and Tywin as their initiator needs to have an AoE dispel to clear out any preexisting immunities, otherwise the targets will be immune to defense break.

Limited Usage Outside of Cleave

While Flan’s skill set is very complimentary for a cleave team, like Tywin, has limited usage due to needing to be set up perfectly to work well. It’s up to the players imagination to bring out her full potential outside of a cleave support.
