Builds

Off-DPS Debuffer

As an off-DPS, Tenebria can be utilized in arena as a defense break. Since these fights are short and players should try to guarantee winning before the enemy team takes a turn, she doesn't need to be tanky at all. The hidden benefit to this build is that due to her right side main stats, Tenebria will scale quite will for high CP in world boss.

Stats

Since each arena offense works differently, players need to tune their Tenebrias appropriate to each team they are supporting. After speed, players should try to reach at least 120% effectiveness if not higher to maximize debuff chance. After that, her stats can be rounded out with DPS subs stats to boost her chip damage.

Sets

Speed set is almost mandatory as it helps immensely with speed tuning. Immunity as a second set can help protect against unforseen debuffs. Hit can boost player's effectiveness when needed. A broken set might even be worth if the substats are good enough.

Artifacts

Tagehel's is the default for almost all mages in arena as it will enable certain debuffers to ignore resistance and enable combos for the team.

Cursed Compass is the BiS for initiators and debuffers who are looking for consistency on the first turn. Could help players who lack in effectiveness.

Abyssal Crown is a decent fall back choice as it can potentially stun counterattackers or revivers who resisted the debuffs, which can sometimes save a failed attack.

Team

Core

The play with this team would be:

1) S3 with Cerise, a high speed initiator, to dispel turn 1 immunity, land debuffs, and boost C Dom by 40% CR when she crits 4 times.

2) C Dominiel will S3 and boost the rest of the team by 20% CR and give Crit Chance up.

3) C Dominiel has the option to soulburn here to soften up an enemy reviver (Maid Chloe, Ruele)

4) Tenebria S3 to debuff and defense break the enemy team.

5) Judge Kise soulburn S2 then S3, which should clean up the enemy team.

Beefy Debuffer

This is a build that's used by many high ranked players as a pocket pick to terrorize unsuspecting opponents. Idea is that since many RTA fights focus around bruisers who are statted around sustaining and dealing damage, a debuff heavy control mage will slow down the fight significantly and can make it nigh impossible for the other team to act.

Stats

Similar to her off-DPS build, Tenebria is looking for 200~ spd, 120+ effectiveness, and to be as tanky as possible.

Sets

Again, Speed set is very valuable here and immunity becomes much more important now that we are no longer in the controlled environment of an arena fight.

Artifacts

Sira-Ren / Abyssal are 2 sides of the same coin. They take advantage of Tenebria's AoE and cycling ability to inflict more debuffs to make the fight even more excruciating for the opponent.

Etica's Scepter since the fight is slowed down significantly, Tenebria can take advantage of Etica's high value over multiple turns to get her S2 and S3 back sooner. This works in conjunction with her ability to boost CR whenever her S1 lands sleep on an enemy.

Team

Core

While an RTA fight wouldn't play out with the same team all the time, players should be trying to pair Tenebria with Lilias as often as possible since Lilias has one of the best abilities to dual attack with allies. A single target nuker such as ML Charlotte can give players a choice in taking out clutch units while leaving other units asleep through their turn. Finally this comp can be rounded out with some sustain or an attack up buff, which Maid Chloe can fill. Players who lack the units should look to replace with units with similar utilities.

Analysis

Overview

The Queen of Illusions makes her appearance as a Phantom Schoolgirl. After her latest skin and a variety of small buffs, Tenebria has made a resurgence with high ranked players in Arena Offense and RTA both as an off DPS and as a full tanky debuffer. With so many debuffs in her arsenal, she can become a hard crowd control for single target heavy teams OR a defense breaker type setup for offensive teams.

Strengths

Strong Turn Cycling

Whenever Tenebria inflicts sleep on an enemy with S1, she gains 50% CR, which is essentially a 50% increase to her speed when it does land. When her S1 is maxed, it is a 70% chance to effectively increase her speed. This works in tandem with her imprint concentration, which will prompt her to land random sleeps on unsuspecting enemies.

Super High Base Attack

Due to her affinity as a Cancer Mage, Tenebria has one of the highest base attacks in the game, making her very easy to build as an off DPS. Even if built as a full debuffer, small substats to her attack will increase her chip damage considerably, especially for a dedicated debuffer.

Overwhelming Debuffs

While a cleave support might only care about the defense break, Tenebria also boast an AoE CR pushback + slow debuff in 1 skill, which is similar to how a Dizzy can slow down an enemy team. This can become devastating to any low effect res team in a long fight, such as in RTA.

Weaknesses

Terrible Defensive Base Stats

While many high ranked players are playing her as a tanky debuffer, Tenebria has notoriously bad defensive subs and require quite a bit of investment to be built to be beefy enough to last through long fights.

Sub 100% Defense Break

While 85% defense break will do the job most of the times, it isn’t as reliable as climbing Arena with a 100% defense breaker. Players should be aware that some fights will be lost due to 85% defense break failing to proc.

High Mola Investment

Due to having effect chance and effects tied to her skill ups, Tenebria requires a bit of molagora investment to reach her full potential. In times like these where almost all players need molagora, taking out 18 to skill up a debuffer might not make sense for everyone.
