Longitudinal Strain Event Clear Guides

Submit Feedback or Error

Introduction

The major story event Longitudinal Strain picks up the story after Fixed Point, with a few modifications to the traditional GFL event formula.

Viewing the story-only stages will give rewards as well, so do not neglect them!

Farming & Ranking

If you're just here for the Longitudinal Strain farming guide, that will be coming soon, to cover all dedicated farming maps. In the meantime, check out the Limited Drops section if you are unsure who you want to pick up from this event!

Ranking remains Cumulative which means you simply need to farm points to get all your rewards.

Difficulty Slider

Longitudinal Strain keeps the selectable difficulty, with UX, EX and Normal versions of many maps.

New enemies

 Aegis GA SWAP

Shields self, has linksplash attack, slightly higher stats than regular KCCO Aegis but no AP.

Skill1: (0s ICD, 12s CD) Shields self for 30% of max HP, lasting 6 seconds.

Skill2: (10s ICD, 12s CD) AoE linksplash attack that ignores Armor/Eva. 2x DMG if target has HP Shields, 1x otherwise.

Cerynitis SWAP

Practically identical to regular Cerynitis, you do not want to get hit by these

Skill1: After every 3rd attack, the next attack will debuff the target's Armor and Eva by 30% for 4 seconds and clear all standard multiplicative buffs.

Lycaon (Mini Ares)

Locks onto a the doll with the lowest HP's position (red marker) and fires repeatedly on that location for several seconds (use the illegal move of kiting to avoid death).

Autoattack: Deal 1x DMG to 2 nearest targets.

Skill1: (8s ICD, 10s CD) Lock onto the target with the lowest current HP's position. After 2.1s, launch 16 attacks at the position, each dealing 0.5x linksplash Damage that ignores Armor/Eva.

Cyclops MG

Massive AP gunners, no wind-up but will reload after a while.

Attacks spend 1 ammo to deal 1x Damage. Successful hits debuff the target's Damage/Accuracy by 10% for 3 seconds. Max 1 stack.

Skill1: Grant self 10 ammo at the start of battle. Upon running out of ammo, reload for 3.33s and grant self 10 ammo.

Aspis (Chariots)

Shields mechanical units.

Scans an area of three tiles in front of self, any unit detected in the area will cause a missile launch from ALL CHARIOTS in the fight, finding no units makes it move forward.

Cannot be knockbacked by LTLX while moving, can be while not moving.

Skill1: (6s ICD, 10s CD) Grant all mechanical units an HP Shield equal to 5x of the Aspis' Armor, lasting 55 minutes.

Skill2: (8s ICD, 6s CD) Scan the area in front of self. After 0.86s, mark any targets within the scanning area.

Skill3: If no enemies were scanned, move forward 3 units.

Skill4: Fire 5 missiles, each dealing 0.5x linksplash Damage, ignoring Evasion/Armor.

Event Rewards

Longitudinal Strain continues giving out excellent rewards for clearing the event a free True Core Mask for clearing the story, and for those that clear the story on higher difficulties can get a Corrupted Heart Mask, which allows them to received one of the farmable Dolls without the farming!

Clear Rewards

Heavy Ordnance Corps

Heavy Ordnance Corps (HOC) continue to be a requirement as Paradeus has plenty of units that come Force Shielded.

HOCs are invaluable to deplete enemy shields, destroy enemy emplacements, and sometimes just for the devastating direct firepower certain HOCs like 2B14 can provide.

For shield-breaking and installation-destroying purposes, Mk-153 is the ideal unit, with an extra unit of range when compared to BGM and AT4. Commanders without all HOCs trained should focus on training Mk-153 before all others. All chapter guides containing HOCs that involve breaking force shields or structures will assume the usage of Mk-153 unless otherwise specified.

Commanders are highly encouraged to read the introduction and guide to HOCs below for the full details about these new units and systems.

Already raised your HOCs but want a little bit of extra firepower for ranking? Optimize their stats by calculating the best possible chip layout!

Supply Boxes

Supply Boxes can be earned by clearing any event stage.

Other rewards from Supply Boxes include Original and Pure Samples, Tokens, Quick Analysis Contracts, exclusive Furniture, along with at least Dummy Cores, Resources, Universal Parts, Calibration Tickets, and possibly much more not shown in this infographic!

All Commanders can farm 60 Supply Boxes per day easily. As these offer a sizable influx of resources as well as a chance at rare and useful T-Dolls, everyone is encouraged to farm these daily since the returns are very worthwhile for the short amount of time required. The chance at free Shotguns is not one to easily pass up.

AR-18

AR-18 is a largely irrelevant AR that tries buffing allies and forcing targeting for her allies.

Other Reward T-Dolls

Limited Drops

The new farmables for this Event are M240L, CMR-30 and Saiga 308. M240L is a very strong MG and is highly recommended.

The returning Dolls are Rhino, PPQ, KH2002, VHS, TS12 and C14. Rhino is an optional replacement for Deagle in a 5HG echelon, the rest are largely irrelevant.

As always it is recommended to farm any Doll you need for collection gems.

You can check out the analyses of the new LS T-Dolls as as well as the MOD batch that arrived with the event on the links below.

Chapter Clear Guides

There are several times where there is no reason not to play UX difficulty due to a lack of combat. As a result, there are not guides for normal on these maps, just play UX and get yourself some extra rewards for free!

Chapter Farm Guides

If you clear the event on UX difficulty you will get 3 Masks that allow you to buy the 3 new farmable dolls without having to farm!

Infinite chapters are back with farm maps, this time with the same enemies for each path so just one comp requirement per map.

Take extra note that one node on each path is WAY stronger than the other nodes. Most farm comps can only do the easier nodes.

LS Farm guide by rev

Daily Crate Farm

Simply farm 1-1 for your crates until you unlock Farm maps. It costs nothing, and has no fights.

Alternatively you could farm the infinite maps.
EX and UX gives more crates per run.

If you don't meet the requirements for EX you could do Normal infi maps.

Ranking

LS has two ranking maps. Map 1 does not directly count towards your score (but does count towards Cumulative), but having >350k score in a single run will raise your Map 2 HOC deployment limit to 4. In addition, completing up to 3 NPC missions will allow them to appear in Map 2, where they can bomb acceleration towers and use skills to help you.

The Ranking maps are unlocked after clearing "Night on a Bald Mountain" in carriage 2.

The new Peace Fairy has a weak aura and a counterproductive Skill (preventing enemies from losing links as well, not just your own units). As such she is purely recommended for collection.
