PVP Ranked Match Up

I wonder how does the match making works. I'm currently rank 40 but the game match me up with rank 50 players with almost twice my RP. I'm on a losing streak right now. (Since most of them has better characters than me like Super Vegeta, Bardock, and even FF Cell)
