Overview

Bardock has received his first Legends Limited Fighter and is the first Legends Limited Fighter for 2022 but he hasn’t quite raised the bar for Legends Limited Fighters to what you’d expect the first LF of 2022 to do. He’s a YEL Ranged Fighter that excels in the latter stages of a match due to him getting more buffs the longer the fight goes on. However, due to this, he doesn’t perform that well in the current meta where most Fighters get all their buffs and Damage inflicted from just entering the battlefield.

Nevertheless, SP Bardock YEL is a viable Fighter in PvP and can help out your teams if you’re missing key Fighters.

Strengths

Late Game Fighter

As mentioned in the Overview, Bardock excels in late-game situations due to him getting endurance and defensive type-neutral when an ally is defeated. He also gets an improved Extra Arts where he can regain 60% of his Vanish Gauge(3x) while destroying 2 of the enemy's Arts Card, reminiscent of SP LL Kid Buu BLU.

Bardock’s “Long-Sought-After Power” unique ability gives him 70% more Damage if he’s on the battlefield for a total of 30 timer counts which adds to his mid-late game power.

With these tools, Bardock can prove to be beneficial as he’ll be able to stop a second Rising Rush, garner more opportunities for you in neutral due to his improved Extra Arts and take hits from RED Fighters thanks to his defensive type neutral.

Don't Touch Me!

Landing a hit on LL SP Bardock YEL can put the opposition in a tough spot as Bardock will come back swinging with a vengeance.  His next Arts Card has a 30% Damage increase, he gets to level 2 Card Draw Speed for 10 timer counts and he locks the opposition in for 3 timer counts. This can be useful to launch powerful attacks such as a Rising Rush or Ultimate Arts Card against a particular Fighter.

Weaknesses

Too Slow

As mentioned in the Overview, LL SP Bardock takes a long time before he can get access to his entire toolkit and as a result, he doesn’t fair quite well in the current meta.

Endurance Doesn't Matter

LL SP Bardock YEL getting endurance once an ally dies is meaningless as Bardock will be the Fighter that you sack off to die if needs be because he’s the weakest Fighter on all his teams other than Team Bardock. The point of endurance is to protect yourself from losing a Fighter but Bardock’s endurance rewards you for losing a character which is bad.

Team Synergy

Saiyans

LL SP Bardock YEL is a good YEL Fighter for the Saiyan team but in no way is he optimal on the team. The core of LL SP SSJ4 Gogeta GRN, UL Super Gogeta BLU, and LL SP SSB Goku and Vegeta PUR is better and if a yellow is required then SP SSJ Goku(Halo) YEL is a better option.

Unique Ability

Solitary Avenger

Applies the following effects to self when battle starts:

+90% to damage inflicted (cannot be cancelled).
Reduces damage received by 35% (cannot be cancelled).
Nullifies Abnormal Conditions for 60 timer counts (cannot be cancelled).

The following effects occur after enemy attack is over:

+30% to the next Arts damage inflicted (cannot be stacked).
Increases own Arts Card Draw Speed by 2 levels for 10 timer counts (cannot be stacked).
Inflicts all enemies with "No Switching" for 3 timer counts.

Applies the following effects to self when one allied character is defeated:

Nullifies unfavorable Element factors for damage sustained (cannot be cancelled).
Restores own health by 25% only once when it reaches 0 (cannot be cancelled).

Long-Sought-After Power

Applies the following effects to self every 4 timer counts while this character is on the battlefield:

+10% to damage inflicted (activates seven times) (cannot be cancelled).
-1 to all Arts costs (activates seven times) (cannot be cancelled).

Knocks back enemy to long range if a cover change is performed against their Blast Arts attack (available during assists).
