I’M MY FATHER’S SON!!!! A new Gohan from the Bojack Unbound Movie has brought his frightening power into Dragon Ball Legends and has completely shifted the meta. LL SP SSJ2 Youth Gohan PUR is a transforming Hybrid Saiyan Fighter with the all-powerful revival mechanic. 

Unlike the most recent revival Fighter before Gohan, Gohan gains a huge stat increase once he transforms with his revival, and his stats rival/surpass some of the most powerful Zenkai Fighters in the entire game. The common consensus around the player base is that Gohan is the new best Legends Limited Fighter and it’s not even close.

This Gohan has now made Hybrid Saiyans the most powerful team in the game with them having access to 2 Fighters who can negate an opponent from using their Rising Rush, LL SP Future Gohan YEL and LL SP SSJ2 Youth Gohan PUR.



The revival mechanic is one of the best mechanics for a Fighter to have in the current meta where Rising Rush has such a huge impact on the balance of a match. Gohan having a revival puts a lot of pressure on the opponents’ ability to use their Rising Rush as they will be cautious as to not waste it against this Gohan.

Unlike SP Perfect Form Cell RED, Gohan’s pre-transformed stats aren’t terrible, making his revival much better.

Hesitant Justice

For some reason, the Dragon Ball Legends Dev Team decided to give Gohan support capabilities from his pre-transformed Main Ability. He gives a 20% heal to all his allies other than himself, which the Hybrid Saiyan team lacked for quite some time. He also gives them a little 15% Damage Inflicted boost, which isn’t astounding but nice to have.

His Main Ability also goes perfectly with his post-transformation as he reduces the cost of his Special Move and increases the Damage of it as well which are both non-cancellable buffs. He also draws an Extra Arts card which I’ll get into with the next point.

Firm Will And Power Surge

LL SP SSJ2 Youth Gohan PUR’s Extra Arts in both his pre-transformed and post-transformed state are very good. In his pre-transformed state, his Extra Arts gives him a basic 20% Damage Inflicted buff but the main trait is the fact that he reduces in own sub-count by 3 for 15 timer counts which play extremely well into his revival as he can catch opponents off guard by how fast he’s able to switch back in.

His post-transformed state’s Extra Arts -” Power Surge” is very similar to the other iteration of Bojack Unbound Gohan, SP SSJ2 Youth Gohan YEL. It’s an AOE green card that’s combo-able with every Arts card. He restores Ki and gains a 20% Damage inflicted buff when it lands as well.

 The biggest takeaway from this Extra Arts is the fact that it’s a short animation, unlike most AOE Extra Arts.

Ramp-Up God

LL SP SSJ2 Youth Gohan PUR’s Damage is nothing short of incredible. Capable of dealing significant Damage to the most powerful of YEL Fighters in the meta. This is due to the support capabilities that he receives on the Hybrid team but also due to his insane Damage ramp-up capabilities which is the best iteration of it. He gains a 25% Damage Inflicted buff for ANY Arts Card that he uses while he’s on the battlefield. Most Fighters require it to be a Strike or Blast Arts but Gohan gets it from any Arts card. 

His ramp-up goes hand-in-hand with his ability to draw Arts cards on entry and he restores 15 Ki up to 3 times which resets on switch out.

He gets 60% Damage Inflicted when transformed and he permanently reduces an enemy’s cover change reduction by 25% which makes cover changing against him ineffective.

You Think You Can Waltz In Here And Just Take Our Planet?

LL SP SSJ2 Youth Gohan PUR’s post-transformation Main Ability is incredibly broken. He gains +1 Card Draw Arts Speed for a massive 30 timer counts, he restores Ki by 70 and he can buff his Special Move Damage by a ridiculous 130% if he destroys 4 Arts Card.

His Special Move already hits hard but with his Main Ability, it becomes impossible to tank against neutral Fighters and can do significant Damage to YEL Fighters.

Anti-Powerful Opponent

Gohan has a 20% Damage Inflicted Increase against the Powerful Opponent Tag which consists of every villain in Dragon Ball and there are a lot of Powerful Opponent Fighters running around in the PvP meta, so you can expect to get some good use out of his Anti-Powerful Opponent Unique.

Team Synergy

Hybrid Saiyans

Gohan’s best team is the Hybrid Saiyan team. He is the missing piece that the team needed to finally become the best team in the entire game. With him, on the team, they have access to 2 Fighters that can negate a Rising Rush, a point that was made previously in the analysis. The Trio of LL SP SSJ2 Youth Gohan RED, LL SP SSJ2 Youth Gohan PUR, and LL SP Future Gohan YEL is an obnoxious team to go up against and the team has the best synergy in the game with all the support going around between the 3 Fighters.

Sagas From The Movies

Gohan along with SP Bojack RED and EX Gokua BLU has brought the Movie Saga team back from the dead and has bolstered them to one of the top teams in the game. The synergy between Gohan and Bojack is incredible as Bojack lowers the sub-count of allies when a Rising Rush is activated which will allow Gohan to come in and use his revival. Gohan can also get a huge Zenkai buff on this team from SP SSJ Broly PUR.

Son Family

Gohan can be used on Son Family to make a very cancerous PvP team that can negate Rising Rush completely. LL SP SSJ3 Goku GRN, LL SP SSJ2 Youth Gohan PUR, and SP SSB Goku(Revival) BLU is a very formidable PvP in the meta. They can outlast any team with their access to 2 Revival Fighters and one of the best defensive Fighters in the game, SSJ3 Goku. The damage might be lacking a bit but they will surely have multiple Rising rushes to use against any team.
