Montmorancy is still slow after her Specialty Change, though she has gained a fair amount of bulk from her Skill Tree and plenty of Effect Resistance. She can therefore be built with either full Health or a combination of Speed and Health, as long as her gear fulfills the 100% Effect Resistance caveat for the self CR-boost.

Be aware that Angelic Montmorancy's heals are unlike those of some other Soul Weavers. Her healing scales with the target’s Health instead of her own, making them more effective on bulky tanks but less effective on heroes with lower maximum Health. However, this also frees Montmorancy to use a Speed set, since she is not reliant on her own health pool to heal her teammates, so it is something of a silver lining.

For Artifacts, you can choose any of the following:

An honorable mention is Wondrous Potion Vial, which procs before the check to see if her S2 comes off cooldown. In some situations, this Artifact might cleanse a debuff off Angelic Montmo and allow her S2 to come off cooldown when it otherwise would not have. However, given her already-strong cleansing kit, this Artifact is probably overkill in most situations.

Team

Core

As a pure support/healer, Montmorancy can fit into most general team compositions. She appreciates teammates who can do damage, since her damage is still subpar. She also benefits from having off-healers who can complement her healing presence over time, or teammates who can reduce her low cooldowns. The example team shown has an off-healer, cooldown reduction, and a self-sufficient DPS.

Analysis

Overview

If you add an ‘A’ to the end of her title, you’ll get exactly what Angelic Montmorancy is. While she doesn’t occupy the exact same niche as vaunted fellow Ice healer Angelica, it is hard not to see the parallels between the two. With lots of Effect Resistance, a reliable team heal, low cooldowns on her cleanse, and the self CR-push that her kit originally came with, SC Montmorancy is quite possibly the best low-rarity healer. She combines the best parts of her idol Diene and her mentor Angelica’s kits for a versatile healing presence.

Strengths

Strong Cleanse/ Heal Combination

Smilegate looked at Montmorancy’s S2, Purification, and smashed the buff button until there was nothing left over. Purification now heals regardless of debuff removal, has a chance to give Continuous Healing, and may remove an extra debuff. Angelic Montmorancy even has a new passive that gives Purification a 50% chance to reset its cooldown if she is not debuffed. They also changed her S3 so that it grants Immunity while also clearing two debuffs. When Angelic Montmo is on the field, no enemy debuffs will be sticking to your team for very long.

Built-in Turn Cycling

Combined with Magaraha’s Tome, Angelic Montmorancy is now capable of cycling her turns to a ridiculous degree. As long as she has the right Runes in her Skill Tree and 100% Effect Resistance on her gear, Angelic Montmorancy receives 10% CR each time Purification is used. This gives her a reliable team healing presence, even if the amount healed on each skill usage is low.

Bulky

A 10% increase to her HP and a whopping 40% increase to her Effect Resistance makes Angelic Montmorancy tankier and much less susceptible to debuffs than her vanilla version.

Low Investment (for a Specialty Change)

Angelic Montmorancy is still a 3★ hero, so she uses Stigma for Skill Enhancement instead of Molagora. Furthermore, since Skill Enhancement doesn't lower any of Angelic Montmo's cooldowns, it's not a high priority for her.

Weaknesses

Soul-Hungry

Like her mentor, Angelica, Montmorancy can be quite taxing on the Souls, as her S3 costs 20 Souls to apply to the team. You may find yourself unable to use other important Soulburns on your team if this is overused. This also means Angelic Montmorancy is not as strong in auto play (i.e., on Arena Defense teams) due to the A.I. not using Soul Burns.

Vulnerable to Multiple Debuffs

Angelic Montmorancy’s cleanses, while frequent, are not remove-all cleanses. Enemies with multiple debuffs on the same skill can overwhelm her ability to remove debuffs, especially enemies like Basar who can remove her Immunity buffs at the same time.

Low Healing on S2

Despite being up very often, Purification offers little in the way of heavy healing. Don’t rely on it to bring someone back from the brink of death, because it won’t. Think of it instead as a light regeneration effect.
